This was written and storyboarded by Bill Peet, who did the same for 101 Dalmatians and The Sword in the Stone. The man had a unique style that's easy to see! I first knew of him through his iconic childrens' books.
Goliath looks like the baby elephant from the jungle book, and the tiger looks like the wolf from the sword in the stone, and the tiger in goliath 2 looks like the tiger from goofy: tiger trouble, where goofy is trying to kill a tiger, but he keeps failing over and over again, and also goliath 2 must be a prequel to The Jungle Book Movie (1967). RIP Phil Harris, we will miss you, just like Walter
it's a tiger but he actually does look like him. I also remember about another disney short where a tiger was the "antagonist", i used to watch it as a child but i don't remember pretty much anything but that tiger
@241Groundhog Interestingly during development of Disney's Robin Hood (1973), Prince John was originally conceived as a tiger, but since his older brother King Richard the Lion-Hearted obviously had to be portrayed as a lion, hence Prince John was instead changed from being a tiger into a lion, but when they retooled Prince John from a tiger to a lion, they kept the original tiger design, only that they removed the stripes, hence why Prince John had no mane despite being a male lion. Nevertheless the crew over at Disney still kept that "lion" design of Prince John that way, since Prince John is a very childish villain character (like Captain Hook from Disney's Peter Pan), and the lack of mane is meant to highlight the Prince John character's immaturity.
Goliath put that mouse in his place when he dangled it via tail closer to the crocodile. Fearing for his own life, the mouse promised Goliath he'd leave the elephant herd alone if he just save him.
Chichi Chichi Oppai also the stork from dumbo, the chesire cat, kaa from the jungle book, adult flower from bambi, professor holloway from the 3 caballeros, roquefort the mouse from the aristocats..... the list goes on
The list of recycles of this movie with voices, motions, sounds, and characters are: The Jungle Book, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Peter Pan, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Sword in the Stone, 101 Dalmatians, Sleeping Beauty, Lady and the Tramp, The Aristocats, The Three Cabilarios, Bambi, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Goliath's mother was very protective over him. I am a million times worse than her with my 11 week old daughter carry Ambrosia Slanker. This cartoon possesses a lot of recycled animation, which is why some animal characters or even scenery is reused in this. Wolfgang Reitherman, one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" was mostly know for this method in cartoons he directed.
That scream from the mother elephant: "Goliath!" Pretty funny in my book. Reminds me of "Dave and the Giant Pickle" in "Veggie Tales." Because the character is a giant pickle named Goliath.
Sreerenjini Surendran I can explain that!:D i learned after reading about some of Disney,s tactic s online they recycle alot of animation in order to save money for instance your right about the crocodile and the elephant march crash but if you notice the bird when she is trying to catch her eggs that's also seen in Alice and wonderland. so there you have it that's why the animations looks o familiar and similar
Does anyone know what cartoon it was where it was about a lion and it was talking about how the lion was but it was comical and at the end the lion ate the explorer?
As if poor little Goliath knows anything about the elephant law. Besides, he's only a child, and they scorned him. And what would the other elephants care anyway? They don't even like him, and the don't even want him around. Not even his own father.
uncredited: Paul Frees (Scared Elephant / Mouse), Barbara Jo Allen (Goliath’s Mother), Reta Shaw (Eloise Elephant), Kevin Corcoran (Goliath II), Jim Macdonald (animal sounds)
3:45 Eloise looks like the Matriarch from Dumbo, she used the recycled animation from Dumbo and in fact these two were both voiced by Verna Felton Goliath the first was the predecessor of Colonel Hathi and they were both voiced by J. Pat O'Malley. Goliath the Second's mother looks exactly like Mrs Jumbo And how the mouse scares was the same animation as that of Timothy Mouse
The voice of Eloise was actually Reta Shaw who played Mrs. Lagerlof in Pollyanna, Mrs. Brill the cook in Mary Poppins and Mrs. Grindley in Escape to Witch Mountain

This movie reminds be of the jungle book not this year but the past one and Dumbo for some reason.
Lapis the Night duty
When I saw this back when I was about 7 I recall thinking the mouse was the most evil Disney villain ever (and probably still is). He actually tried to toss him to the crocodiles!
👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹
I know disney is known for there for there re used animation but when lesser characters show up even its cool tick tock from pan owl from sleepin beauty they did it a lot even with minor background characters or gave them little retreads but they were basically the same character i noticed same thing with cute bunnies from melody time made a cameo in another disney 50s short today just interesting things you notice
The crocodile kind of reassembles Tick-Tock from Peter Pan.
This was written and storyboarded by Bill Peet, who did the same for 101 Dalmatians and The Sword in the Stone. The man had a unique style that's easy to see! I first knew of him through his iconic childrens' books.
There's a lot of reused animation in this short: Dumbo, Bambi, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Jungle Book, Sword in the Stone...
oHmega14 i saw everything except from sword in the stone whats from sword in the stone?
kj
its disney.
yeahh & I'm pretty sure the narrators voice is Pooh
This cartoon was actually made before The Sword In The Stone and The Jungle Book.
I so wanted Goliath to let go of that mouse when I was a kid and I still do. Lol.
It's like Timothy Q Mouse's rival of something.
Dumbo + Alice in Wonderland + Peter Pan + that tiger from a Goofy cartoon + the owl from Bambi = This
7:58 this is another film to have the same music score from The Jungle Book. Both Goliath II and 101 Dalmatians 1961.
I remember seeing this when I was 6. And I was thinking of Goliath as a kid
Prince John from the 1973 Robin Hood looks alot like an older version of the Lion in this animation.
it's a tiger but he actually does look like him.
@@voldemortsshampoo4551 That Disney short where a tiger was the "antagonist" is the Goofy cartoon "Tiger Trouble" (1945)
PRINCE JOHN IS NOT A TIGER YOU LOSER!!!!
9:29 his happy meal is coming ahah
Crocodile or tiger having meal?🤔
@@randombank Crocodile eats Tiger.🐊🐅
They later used some of the animation from here in Jungle book 7 years later!
Elephant smash
xerox looks so fresh, subtle and ingenious in this 1960 disney cartoon. 1 year before the 1961. than style and aesthetic of dny changed. i adore it
Raja, huh? He related to Jasmine's tiger?
Zerukin Raja and Khan flatly refused any relation to the little guy
Yes
Raja the second
@@Petrico94 Raja's great grandfather

First time I saw this was in 1969 "Wonderful World of Disney"
I like the old fashioned butt whipping
he surpassed his father in guts. everyone was afraid of a mouse including his father he wasn't
Andrew Gan
Goliath put that mouse in his place when he dangled it via tail closer to the crocodile. Fearing for his own life, the mouse promised Goliath he'd leave the elephant herd alone if he just save him.
Goliath II was brave enough to fight a mouse!
I remember watch this in a Mother's Day Special awhile back and I couldn't remember the name but I'm glad to finally find it.
Has anyone else noticed at the end when Goliath ii had a bruised eye. It switched sides while he was fighting the mouse.
It's probably an animation error.
Smarter Clorox Bleach yes
I never seen this. Thanks!
Narrated by...Piglet/Winnie the Pooh.
Chichi Chichi Oppai also the stork from dumbo, the chesire cat, kaa from the jungle book, adult flower from bambi, professor holloway from the 3 caballeros, roquefort the mouse from the aristocats..... the list goes on
Winnie not piglet
That man is Sterling Holloway. I loved him as Winnie the Pooh. Not sure if I liked him as the Kaa the Snake in the Jungle Book in 1967.
@@katiewhitehead9237 what the name of that mouse?
@@brandylasyone6290 Roquefort
the sound the bird makes in 4:19 is also used in the sword and the stone
And I think Alice in Wonderland too
I feel bad for Goliath II because he's tiny and that's a disadvantage because he almost gets stepped on
But he got to beat up a tiny bully that the adult elephants were cowards around.
To be honest, it reminds a little almost of Stuart Little, a human family adopts a son that is actually a mouse.
I grew up on this one (among others) in the late 70s/80s. Great seeing it again.
That mouse sounds like Ignatz (also a mouse) in the Krazy Kat cartoons produced by King Features Syndicate. Same voice artist (Paul Frees).
I remember this!!! Thanks for showing it
The list of recycles of this movie with voices, motions, sounds, and characters are: The Jungle Book, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Peter Pan, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Sword in the Stone, 101 Dalmatians, Sleeping Beauty, Lady and the Tramp, The Aristocats, The Three Cabilarios, Bambi, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
I needs him. Screw Goliath the First. Gimmie Goliath the Second any day!
Let me guess, by that you mean your afraid of mice?
@@megameme29 what? i like Goliath the Second because he's adorable
@@girlsland1 true that.
I'm just saying that goliath ll is also good mouse control as well.
I’m I the only one thinks that this jungle takes place in Neverland?
Yes🤣!!!
I remember watching this when i was a kid
Goliath's mother was very protective over him. I am a million times worse than her with my 11 week old daughter carry Ambrosia Slanker. She will be 12 weeks old on Thursday and I freaked out whenever she's not there when somebody's holding her besides me and her daddy and anybody else in the family. If I looked down and not see her there, I freaked out
Yeah, but she turned harsh to his son.
Good 👍👍👍
5:36 That's from Goofy's cartoon Foul Hunting 1947

Yeah, the director's use others animation for compose the story, maybe for economy, but still a good cartoon.
It's called recycled animation.
loved it
The crocodile is not having luck for a meal at 13:33.
Donald Duck: [ Laughing ] Not today, Mr. Croc. You'll never get me in your stomach.
The mouse’s voice sounds like a mix of Chris Griffin and Rocket Raccoon.
To any comments saying this is recycled from 'The Jungle Book', it's not. Look at the year. Some of the animation in JB (1967) is taken from this.
7:58 And This Music Was Used in 101 Dalmations
That's right

Goliath ii is like Dumbo Tantor Lumpy and Hathi Jr.
The crocodile looks very similar to the one from Peter Pan.
It's him! It's tick tock
Yes.
This cartoon possesses a lot of recycled animation, which is why some animal characters or even scenery is reused in this.
Wolfgang Reitherman, one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" was mostly know for this method in cartoons he directed.
So, how did Tick-Tock end up in India, straight from Never Land?
@@BenJabituya maybe it's his Brother or Cousin.
That scream from the mother elephant: "Goliath!" Pretty funny in my book. Reminds me of "Dave and the Giant Pickle" in "Veggie Tales." Because the character is a giant pickle named Goliath.
Lol the way rasha runs😂😂
Goliath looks all beaten up after a fight with the mouse
That's because he was.
and the music sounds familiar, too.
Sreerenjini Surendran I can explain that!:D i learned after reading about some of Disney,s tactic s online they recycle alot of animation in order to save money for instance your right about the crocodile and the elephant march crash but if you notice the bird when she is trying to catch her eggs that's also seen in Alice and wonderland. so there you have it that's why the animations looks o familiar and similar
zenie250 thanks!
no problem weird isint it how you dont notice these things s a little kidXD
Does anyone know what cartoon it was where it was about a lion and it was talking about how the lion was but it was comical and at the end the lion ate the explorer?
10:47 Reused Circus Elephant Animation from Dumbo when seeing a mouse
4:30 9:29 Hello reused animation from Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan!
4:47 Are elephants even that small as Goliath the II? He's probably as big as a bug!
Not even close. The smallest species were pig-sized.
As if poor little Goliath knows anything about the elephant law. Besides, he's only a child, and they scorned him. And what would the other elephants care anyway? They don't even like him, and the don't even want him around. Not even his own father.
How nostalgic
uncredited: Paul Frees (Scared Elephant / Mouse), Barbara Jo Allen (Goliath’s Mother), Reta Shaw (Eloise Elephant), Kevin Corcoran (Goliath II), Jim Macdonald (animal sounds)
Baby ( golith ) is super adorable
👑😍
Yeah but I usually love Dumbo the best to be honest but I love all baby elephants too, especially Asians.
3:45 Eloise looks like the Matriarch from Dumbo, she used the recycled animation from Dumbo and in fact these two were both voiced by Verna Felton
Goliath the first was the predecessor of Colonel Hathi and they were both voiced by J. Pat O'Malley.
Goliath the Second's mother looks exactly like Mrs Jumbo
And how the mouse scares was the same animation as that of Timothy Mouse
The voice of Eloise was actually Reta Shaw who played Mrs. Lagerlof in Pollyanna, Mrs. Brill the cook in Mary Poppins and Mrs. Grindley in Escape to Witch Mountain
4 those who's wondering: that was the proof to test how Jungle Book (1966) would have seen by the Great Pubblic

Why did we have to make part 2 did David not take care of the giant in part one?
