    Great BBQ set up. Thanks for the demo Harvey and for helping Dad to remember how to slide it back in. Looking forward to seeing you all in action.

    Sweet guys, love the BBQ apron. The DO35 hitch looks so much better. Got the drone out at the end there I see nice.

      Yeh been getting the drone out a bit recently as we finally got a new one 😊 the old Mavic I had was slowly dying and kept cutting out mid flight!

    Hay mate just an idea how about going to your local hardware shop as in bunnings and buy 1 big peace of fake grass turf you can get green grey brown ex and cut it to fit would probably work better than cardboard love the video as always

    Love the setup, When I built my van , I made allowances for 2 chains bolted to inner frame to lock the 2 spares wheels too, Worked well unable to get at chains to cut, Peace of mind. Enjoy your adventures, looking forward to your vids., Cheers Bevan 🤠🦘🇦🇺

      Clever idea! I think I might go overboard and put a bike lock on it and locking nuts haha… it’s a nice looking tyre/rim and I’d hate for it to be stolen 😁

    For the rear wheel I'd be tempted to use a big bike lock cable to secure it - and then it gives you the option to secure the bikes or other equipment to that as well when parked up.
    Marine carpet or big rubber backed carpet tiles would be ideal in the storage area.
    Be careful if you use a bolt to secure the bike rack tongue - vibration at the back is likely to gradually undo the nut. If possible I'd recommend a locking pin.
    Going to be awesome getting away in it - hope all is going well.

    • @AdventuresWithRosy
      @AdventuresWithRosy  2 года назад +1

      Good point re the bolt! I ended up buying a proper trailer pin thing with a split pin on one end. I think a big bike cable is the way to go! I’ll do that thanks 😊

  • @bones3745

    Absolutely lock that spare wheel on. A set of locking wheel nuts is way cheaper than the bespoke mag wheel and heavy duty tyre.

    • @AdventuresWithRosy
      @AdventuresWithRosy  2 года назад

      Yeh that is a very good point! Are the lock nuts easy to get into though? Or is it more of a deterrent?

  • @davodinkum
    @davodinkum 2 года назад +1

    A tip for the DO35 lock, when you’ve got it on, you can press the hitch secure button (red) to lock it in place which allows you to pop the grey cover on properly

    • @AdventuresWithRosy
      @AdventuresWithRosy  2 года назад

      Ah good point! Didn’t even think of that haha, probably good to have the cover on to keep the water etc out right?

    • @davodinkum
      @davodinkum 2 года назад +1

      @@AdventuresWithRosy yeah adds a bit of extra protection and stops the cover flapping around in the breeze :)

    Such a cool caravan! You said you got a 2500kg van so it wouldn't go over 3T, are you going to go to a weigh bridge to check the weights fully loaded?

    • @AdventuresWithRosy
      @AdventuresWithRosy  2 года назад

      It’s a great idea! The only place I can think of in Taupō is the rubbish dump but I’m not sure they would allow it haha. Are you just allowed to stop at a truck weigh station and get weighed?

    • @RadRoadAdventures
      @RadRoadAdventures 2 года назад +1

      @@AdventuresWithRosy the dump usually has a fee to use the weight bridge, I know where you can weight a whale however.......
      down at the whale-weigh station 😆
