Check out my latest updates. Here's my latest 10in diameter, 75disc aluminum and plastic prototype drive turbine dyno, 2.75kW and 6.22ft-lbs of torque to the shaft at only 4150rpm with a 150psi room temp comp air supply from a regular piston compressor for now. I'm gearing it UP AT 1:3.6 to dual BLDC gens with a Kv rating of 2200rpm/volt. So for every 611 RPMs on the turbine the generators output 1volt.

What's different between this video and the one last week?
I cut a lot out. I’m just trying to see whats going on with the algorithm for my channel. 🤷♂️
I’m just testing things to see what works best cuz I don’t really have any idea what I’m doing here when it comes to “videography”. 😅
my videos keep flat lining all the time for who knows what reason, all my stats seem to be up 🤷♂️
so I can only think it must be something I’m doing. It’s getting a bit discouraging if I’m being honest.
I’ve got the highest actual power outputting Tesla turbine I can find anywhere on RUclips but I can’t even get RUclips to suggest/serve some of my videos to even half as many people who are subscribed to my channel…
over the last 3 months I’ve gotten multiple comments from long time subscribers saying that they aren’t being given notifications of my new videos when I post them…
Meanwhile I keep seeing these 100k-1mil+ view videos of TesTurs that literally don’t even do anything. 🤦♂️
add on the bacon bits of when I post the exact same videos to my Instagram that isn’t even related to Tesla turbines my videos literally get 1 order of magnitude more views and likes.
If I’m lucky a video on RUclips will break 1500-2000 views and get like 15-40 likes. On my Instagram the same video will get 15,000-20,000 views and 500-1200 likes…….
It doesn’t even make sense. I have like half the subs on my Instagram as I do on RUclips too…
Sorry I don’t mean to complain. 😔
If you have any suggestions I’m all ears! I’m at my wits end with this platform….
Unfortunately, it's all about the thumbnail and first 60 seconds to hook a user. Have you seen Veritasium's breakdown about the algorithm?
Yeah, any suggestions on the thumbnail?
Also a lot has changed since RUclips shorts has hit the scene. I can’t even pick the thumbnail that’s used when one of my videos is served on the “shorts shelf”. It’s whatever RUclips picks out of the video. It’s infuriating.
Would it be inaccurate to describe this as a solar alternative? I imagine you could tap into the current solar trend by enticing viewers with a potential alternative. Your thumbnail might ideally be a solid color background -- either orange, yellow, or blue due to the color psychology they have -- and feature, quite simply, 2 objects, a solar panel and your turbine with an arrow between them suggesting equality. You might then hook the viewer by reminding them of the goal you're trying to accomplish, make it clear that this is an update to the series, and there's future content to expect.
It wouldn’t be inaccurate to call it a solar turbine, as that’s one of the many applications I plan to use it for. I just didn’t want to make all these very preliminary compressed air tests be really “clickbaity” by claiming “solar Tesla turbine!” And I’m not doing anything with the solar parts to it yet.
I like your suggestion about giving the viewer some more heads up about this being related to an overarching project series.
This is good stuff to think on. Thank you justin!
Awesome video.

Your 170 gallon air tank…was that a propane tank first? It seems huge
Hey living soils! Thanks for commenting it really helps the algorithm.
So the 170gal comes from using an 80gal, a 60gal, and a 30gal tanks put in parallel.
They were all used tanks that had a blown motor and/or compressor that I picked up from Facebook marketplace pretty cheap.

The extra loop heats up his compressed air. Heating a gas makes it thicker. So his thicker 150psi gas is pushing the turbine. He’s putting braking force on the turbine by generating power from it. Slowing it down.
With math he’s comparing the output of the turbine ran on regular cold compresses air that’s thin - to slightly heated (by the extra loop) compressed air and subtracting the difference in power the turbines making.
The difference is being pushed by cold compressed air vs warmer compressed air. Pressure being the same 150psi.
Think of the turbine as a hydrostatic transmission…or like a Canoe paddle. If the oils thicker, if the waters thicker. What can you push harder into . Cold thin air or hot thick air.
If you know two points you can make a very rough guess what the sweet spot of steam input temp is --for flowing through and spinning the turbine.
How hot or cold should the steam be -how thick or thin should the steam be to spin this turbine with force.
If it’s a big difference with a minor temp change, it warrants investing more time to build a heat scavenging (pre heat - thicken that input steam. It’s a cool machine because it’s “chewing up” the steam and not the machine like a internal combustion motor does. It wears into itself over time. This thing chews steam up and has two bearings to service…and could heat and power your home scavenging heat from a car sized compost pile. This is a big deal.

I do have a question though. How do you counter what has been said in the later part of this video, about size, speed amd efficiency?
ruclips.net/video/AfCyzIbpLN4/видео.html
hey thanks for showing your love and support by commenting 🙏❤️ it really helps with the algorithm! I’ve got some copy pasta 🍝 that’ll I’ll share with ya.
That’s not an issue because, despite what everyone erroneously claims, Tesla turbines work just fine, get plenty of torque and output power at low RPMs.
Tesla turbines aren’t made efficient by spinning really fast.
That’s only for when the disc stack is being used as a centrifugal pump, because ALL centrifugal pumps’ compressors, performance is tip speed dependent.
But spinning the turbine fast will produce a centrifugal head that opposes the incoming fluid flow, reducing the pressure gradient across the nozzle, reducing fluid final velocity, reducing mass flow rates through the nozzle and ultimately reducing power out.
Furthermore the faster you spin them the faster the fluid you have has to go just to still be moving faster than the discs and still provide torque.
Lastly, they work just fine for industrial use and can scale up just fine because the torque on the discs is proportional to the difference in the fluid speed and the disc speed.
So the disc tip speed is the important factor here. For any given fluid supply in the nozzle will have a max fluid velocity.
So the turbine disc tips will have a max speed set at that fluid speed irrelevant if radius.
The now considering that centripetal force is proportional to V^2/R, if you keep the tip speed the same but increase the radius the centripetal forces on the disc for the speeds needed will actually decrease.
Despite what MANY have claimed about the Tesla turbine, it does NOT need to be spun fast to work or work efficiently.
TesTurs are made efficient when the slip on the discs is reduced and spinning the discs fast does nothing to reduce the slip, only increase the distance the fluid slips on the disc faces, which is by definition “loss”.
Listen to what Tesla himself said in the patents of how to make them work.
“Owing to a number of causes affecting the performance, it is difficult to frame a precise rule which would be generally applicable, but it may be stated that within certain limits, and other conditions being the same, the torque is directly proportionate to the square of the velocity of the fluid relatively to the runner and to the effective area of the disks and, inversely, to the distance separating them.
The machine will, generally, perform its maximum work when the effective speed of the runner is one-half of that of the fluid; but to attain the highest economy, the relative speed or slip, for any given performance, should be as small as possible.
This condition may be to any desired degree approximated by increasing the active area of and reducing the space between the disks.”
1) increase the speed of the fluid relative to the disc, (not increase disc speed)
2) increase surface area
3) decrease disc spacing
This is how you actually make a TesTur work. Not by spinning it fast.
The fluid interactions with the disc that govern efficiency an torque are adhesion and cohesion. Full stop.
And spinning fast does nothing to increasing either to increase the turbines isentropic efficiency.
This is why everyone who chases rpm with the TesTur just flat out fails.
They aren’t even trying to design them properly so of course they won’t work.
You just have to know how to design it correctly to actually reduce slip to make them work, not spin them fast.
The only reason people think Tesla turbines have to be spun too fast is because EVERYONE has mistaken the part of the patent that is about the turbine being used as a pump as being about it being used as a drive turbine.
The only time you want to spin a TesTur fast is when it’s being used as a pump/compressor.
This is because ALL centrifugal pumps’/compressors’ performance is tip speed dependent.
“I have found that the quantity of fluid propelled in this manner, is, other conditions being equal, approximately proportionate to the active surface of the runner and to its effective speed.
For this reason, the performance of such machines augments at an exceedingly high rate with the increase of their size and speed of revolution.” -Nikola Tesla
