My micra is probably one of my most used things I have. One thing i love most on it is the bottle opener, it's a pleasure to use. One thing I don't like is how hard it is to sharpen the siccors.
Try using the knife with the tool half-open (with the points of the scissors in one half of the handle.) It fits in your hand perfectly and the handle doesn't get in the way. I don't know why Leatherman doesn't show that on their website.
Because it does not lock open. So if people are careless or complacent they would easily slice their fingers open. And if they advocate for using the knife in that fashion they would be legally liable for injuries. That’s why they say to only use the knife after you’ve closed the handles.
Ive had several micras for 20 years now and I do really appreciate it, but no, it does not go in my pocket or on my keychain. I feel like the PS4 would be a better option for that purpose, seeing as most of what the micra does is personal grooming, mine lives in the earphone case that is always in my backpack. Comes in handy every now and then. What goes in my pocket most of the time though, is a victorinox tinker deluxe, which does have both pliers and in my opinion, better scissors than the micra. The scissors on the micra is okay for paper and strings sticking out of clothes and whatnot, but the moment you use them for cable ties, package rope (you know that blue stuff made from polypropylene) or anything else that is either fibrous or tough, it starts camming out and basically chews more than it cuts. I dont know if its the pivot contruction that isnt rigid enough, or if its the geometry of the blades, but it certainly falls short on things other scissors this size should do without issues.
Great review i have the micra , gerber dime , gerber nxt suspension pliers and the last pair i have is the leatherman skeletool which the leatherman skeletool is my edc
Found this tool in my garage. I remember it being there for years. I was just going to throw away. Then I noticed it was a genuine leather man. So it’s going in my camping gear. I have no idea how or who give it to me. It has been used and is still working.
Good review. I have the Gerber Splice which has served me very well. I have ordered the Micra because 1. It looks marginally better. I also like the extra tool options. 2. I am a gadget junkie and and and........ I only need an excuse to go buy a new toy 😭
I am torn between the classic sd and the micra. being all steel, the micra is much better at surviving on the keyring without a scratch. the scissors and nail file are much nicer on the sd classic. the tweezer on the micra is harder to lose but feels less quality.
Found some reviews from March 2023 that said it was $35, and found someone complaining on Reddit in September 2023 that it was $50, so I guess the price jumped less than a year ago
Possibly the most overpriced mini multi tool on the market! I paid around $10 for mine years ago and thought it was overpriced at that time. The main tool (scissors) are lousy . At $49.95 it is a bad joke IMO.So many better choices on the market these days at a lot less money.

I appreciate all your reviews! I am new to the EDC world and it's great the way you describe amd breakdown everything so well. So thank you!

My first edc tool. The scissors arent as great as youd think. Theyd often miss finer cuts, like threads and nosehairs. Much prefer a sak.

Great in my shave kit.
Has the price really gone up to $50 from $35 in one year?
