I’m not a “visual learner” but the visuals you made for the video were very useful in places to show how your movements are played on an efficient path.
This a great video Tim! I have been watching your videos for a couple years now and I think you are doing the best jazz vibraphone content on youtube by far. I met the vibraphone for the first time about 4 years ago and fell in love. I am now preparing to audition on jazz vibes for grad school next fall. Your videos have been extremely helpful in my journey and I appreciate the effort you put in to your content and community! Best wishes from central Illinois :)
super : have feeling you were kind enough to omit Do this for all the scales Hundredweight of chips ! be great to break that up do number scales to fit a certain tune Or most common scales first ? Anyway please keep them coming
Hey Tim, thank you for this quick introduction! I hope you will contiune this as a "series". Would be cool! Two questions though: Would you also practice the Arpeggios with changed sticking eg. RLRL instead of LRLR? The other question is more a request: Could you do a video about chords and how to decide "what handposition" to use? E.g. answering the old question on how to stick B7. Thanks!
Now that’s a good idea.. I get that question all the time in lessons. As for the sticking, I don’t tend to practice the ones that feel really awkward, but it probably still is a good idea. Guess I should go practice more.
I may have to trade in one of my dogs for a cat, as she loves to 'sing' along LOUDLY while I practice. 😅 Does anything change in these rudiments if you have a marimba instead of vibes? Also, I see you stressed striking the center of the bar. Do you ever strike the end of the bar on the upper keys, or is that completely verboten?
Finally, this is the instructional video I've been looking for. 15 minutes of video, but concepts that will last forever.

Great lesson, thanks. Not a beginner but still very helpful. Fundamentals rule.
Excellent video for us the self-taught (autodidacta). Gracias from Puerto Rico.
This is really good thank you! It's all about muscle memory - at least the sticking part ;)
Thank you Tim!👍
Hi Tim,
Those are cool excercises. Really like them & incorporate them into studies.
Thanks

Thank you! Good luck with your audition.
Großartig erklärt, Tim. Vielen Dank! So it's all about "bodywork" 🙂
Yes, thank you. Just the kind of video that will be very helpful for me.
Quality content!
Shoutout to Mr. Collins
Do you have any videos regarding mallet dampening?
