- Singapore-based promotion ONE Championship has dominated the Asian martial arts scene for a decade. Combining dynamic kickboxing, grappling and MMA they have revived the great legacy of Pride and are now ready to challenge the UFC. These days I only tune into ufc for big fights. Maybe 3-5 events a year. but ONE is so diverse that I watch every event I can, cuz the action just feels like how the 2010's ufc felt. I'm just happy we have another major MMA option to watch.

The quality of OneChampionships is absolutely phenomenal. Can't compare it with UFC at all because of the different styles of martial arts there are primarily used. It's much more MuayThai and Kickboxing focused and seeing the fighters grow in to the rule set over the last few years is absolutely amazing.
I can compare, one chamipionships is much more entertaining nowdays for me. UFC is boring.
@@borgy7085 Can compare it in the way that they are both martial arts leagues but you can not compare the quality OneChampionships shows in comparison to UFC. Even Bellator seems better to me lately. (Now I'm a big fan of Michael Page so there's that)

Very cool to see UFC fighters perform on different platforms after they left the UFC.
Too bad the ruleset is so different. In the mightymouse example, he never had to worry about receiving a knee while grounded in all those years with the UFC.

It will be interesting to see if the UFC and One, start competing with each other to test their respective champions to see who really are the World Champs. I never thought another promotion could have rivalled the UFC's rise, but One seems to have exceeded all expectations.
Wont happen.
1.Ufc doesn’t play nice with other organizations.
2. Rules are different. (UFC) Downed opponents can’t get soccer kicked and kneed to the face when partially downed.
3. One is ok with roids and Ufc isn’t.
The UFC did that with PRIDE and it didnt work out well for the UFC. Although in the long run it didnt work out well for PRIDE, or MMA fans as a whole@@zeroonezero6270
i really wanna compete in the ufc in the future if i have a chance, yeah, One is better since the weight cut isnt as deadly, the community/fans are great and you get paid well, but i wanna fight for glory (not the glory kickboxing organization dumbass, just glory and pride) since there are already alot of filipino champions in One. id love to see a pure filipino champion in the ufc, and i want it to be me. @@zeroonezero6270
@@zeroonezero6270 Good points; also UFC has more to lose. They have more profit and market share, more viewers and bigger popularity too. If their fighters won against One fighters they would gain some, but would lose way more, if One fighters started to light up their athletes. Which I am quite sure would happen.
This guy is awesome, he uses the best, most creative and entertaining vocabulary i ever heard from a commentator. Subscription approved, not because of the quality content, but because of your talent.
ONE has the best refs by far and the most fair weigh-in rules with their weight + hydration rules. Better than any other organization, and way better than UFC's rules.
I have heard that " in a real fight all that kicking and martial arts stuff is worthless" Those people have never seen some of these beasts. Amazing to see how fast and vicious these fighters are.

That is why Dana White refuse to have a crossover fight between ufc and one fc fighters...for example Thai fighters are never allowed to compete in the UFC...
Agree completely. Back in the day, I knew a few street fighters who were *heavy* into karate. All of them were squarely into “Dude, you don’t want to fight THAT guy!” territory.

You have to love when a promotion doesn’t test for juice lol.
Honestly in my opinion it makes the fights more interesting and appealing.
Such a lack of regulation probably makes it easier for these fighters to heal and recover from weight cuts and injuries sustained in the camp or fight much quicker than UFC, if money allows.
ONE is the legit successor to Pride. I miss the Wild West days of mma, before commissions and sanctioning bodies. Frankly I have more respect for guys like Rickson than any mma athlete today. Back in the day, you might legit get kilt.

I have a lot of respect for those fighters who quite attacking when the opponent is out. I know it can be risky some times to do so, but it shows both respect and honor.

These One guys just have these nightmare moves. Looks like a whole new game. Their styles are all so different everyone has a unique main weapon forged in far away land. Its really eclectic and it adds a lot to the appeal. It feels like the Kumite...you have good kung fu, its rad. That Thai whip kick is genuinely scary to watch. So many guys from so many countries its so cool.

1990 We, My Kung-Fu partner Jay -went to China to further our studies & I even had a Muay Thai bout in bangkok too! but . .I think I'm more a defence fighter -mostly of others or bad situations & not 1000+1 kicks & shin kicks.. as you say some have a super weapon to unleash given the right options n distance..
