My son has played guitar/pedal steel for Amos Lee for the past 6 years. He sends video's every now and then as well. He sent one of them playing Red Rocks a few months back. What an Amazing venue!!! Thanks so much for your uploads! Brings back memories ~!~ Cheers and keep on truckin' 🕊
Hey Lee! Loving this venue! The sound has got to be amazing, and with a symphony? WooHoo!! What symphony is that playing with you tonight? Hey Brad! I'd definitely jump on the bus and hang with you, all! That sax sounds awesome! 🎷🎶👊🔥😎 Love ya, all! Have a great show tonight! Hey Lamont, Mace Amy! How ya be? 😎🔥🎤 🎶👊👊👊
WOW! Leland, This is your finest filming work yet. You all must have been buzzing. Monumental stuff. You have such a great family of people on this tour and Amy has fit right in like she's always been a big part of it. Have a great time. Much love from the UK
A patina is a greenish sheen certain metals get after years of oxidation but I’m sure Leland means it as a fun compliment. Wow!, 2 layers of large ensemble. Hopefully video of the gig will pop up on my RUclips feed.
It's all the the view..I've heard all about this and it's one that I wish I could see eventually. Tremendous amounts of work had by all..love the shots of Brad ,Lamont and everyone that's evolved. Have a great time tonight..and the band has a orchestra backing you up ? Wonderful. Stay safe , be safe Leland Sklar Peace ✌️ 🙏..and no doubt the finger came along. Are all concerts recorded 🙏 for future releases?????
Thanks for the nice tour. I've been to so many shows out there and have never seen the backstage area. It's a lot more complex than I thought it would be. I love Red Rocks too and so glad I live nearby.
❤😊, ...and there's even more tunnels... Happy that the ones sick last year are feeling better this year❣️ Some stuff sounds fancier than it used to be. :)
I thought you were amazing still living this life at 76. I saw 10CC on Wednesday night. They were very good. Graham Gouldman is 77 and still pumping it out. Keep on truckin' you guys
What a wild backstage tour! Also tell Brad it's ok to be slightly out of tune every now and then, but not during a performance! 😅 BTW I really love Charlie Wonder! 😮😂
I ran the shuttle trucks for 2 seasons here back in the mid 2000s . Its a unique venue in that the trucks cannot make it to the backstage area for normal unloading and loading. The access road is soo seep and narrow no tractor trailer can make it. So what happens is there is a loading dock ( a giant patio) down the hill near the Trading Post which is the Colorado Music Experience Museum. Tractor trailers offload the gear to be used for the evening concert onto the patio then it gets sorted and loaded onto smaller flatbed /stakebed trucks. Red Rocks is a small venue and you just cant fit an arena or stadium size show into it. So everything needs to be sorted out . The trucks then one at a time drive up a very steep and winding road and only one can back up along the narrow road way that Leland shows briefly in the Pt 1 video when he looks out towards Denver. Reversing into the stage opening 3:15 is the critical part Its about 80 ft and soo tight when backing up that driver has to know exactly when to rub the left front tire on a curb, quickly spin the steering right or left at various points. If not the truck scrapes along the rocks or the stone wall. ts not easy. One of our drivers bent the front bumper way out cause he didnt steer fast enough. Once you made it to the stage doorway, the truck backs into the opening with just a couple inches clearance on each side. The gear gets off-loaded and we drive back down slowly to the trucks and repeat again and again til finished with Load-in. Then take a break for a few hours . After show's over we repeat in reverse. All this adds time to loading in and out. One might ask why dont they make the road wider and stage opening bigger ? Well because this venue is Registered as a National Historic Place it's original structures cannot be altered in any way. The only improvements that were approved to modify are the main stage , it originally had no roof so that made it a none issue per preservation - it received a new roof and rigging beams a couple years ago. And at the top of the seating bleachers where new concession and food stands are being built. Thats right bleachers, the entire seating area is bench seats. The angle of the seating area is what creates that audience in your face feeling for the performers and audiences. When standing on stage you can almost reach out and touch the first 10 rows of people ! Dressing rooms, artists lounge , catering , production offices are all underneath the stage . Basically in an underground bunker. Secret : There is a hole in the rock wall behind the stage that goes all the way down to the lounge catering area 3:53 . The trick is to have someone yell or talk into the hole and freak unknowing people out down in the lounge !
Gotta be one of the coolest places in Colorado. I've been here for 30 years and never seen this area. I did sneak in by climbing the rocks to see 3 Dog Night here in 1970. The Beatles signatures are there somewhere.
I love the Red Rocks venue,,,it looks similar to the international destination of the Garden of the Gods located at the foot of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs. If you love RRocks...you'd love the GOG. Look me up while you're here!

Every one of your road videos is "must-watch TV". I hope you get a chance to interview some of the road crew before you wrap this tour. The range of venues these folks have to adapt to is amazing. And a question for the audio department: do you travel with enough gear to handle the occasional symphony orchestra who might grace the stage? YIKES!

Love the giant rock in the dressing room, and all those autographs! Red Rocks is a bucket list venue. I'd better hurry up...
I have seen close to 100 shows there...and never a stinker. If you haven't been to Red Rocks, you haven't been anywhere.

Been there a lot! Live close to there !!! I love it !!
Absolute first class venue, the catering even looked really nice.
I am picturing a few thousand people following behind you on the tour through this venue, if only!

Red Rocks is a living, being, creature!
It is a good thing they didn't forget Amy in Aspen!
Geez Brad again 😊❤🎷🎷🎷 #2

Love that you’re sharing this amazing video! Especially appreciate seeing the backstage areas, tunnel & history!
OMG, that venue is so stunning, can’t wait for part 2 . Thank you Lee and all your peep’s, to let us participate in you incredible journey !!
Wait ... isn't this part 2? 😂
I'm in Denver and don't even know when this beautiful venue was built!
Man…somebody had a true vision with that amphitheater! Perhaps they were inspired by the ancients……Epidaurus etc.
I’m sure you are recognized most anywhere. Or at least they see you and know you are “somebody”. You are very humble and just an inspiration!
This has to be the most amazing venue in the world!!!
So cool. I hope someone posts a couple of tunes from this venue. Enjoy
Take that LOVE LEE! Let those pour it out to you. I know you will pass it along.
What a delightful video - great crew - you’re in for a beautiful night!
That trombone player warming up @6:03. I think every single trombone player in the history of the universe warms up with that exercise.
Red rock amphitheater, magic place!!!!
Very smart to have the Scrim hanging the stage. It cuts down on the Sun but let's the air through.
Wow, that list of every artist and the date they played there on…
All those names in that stairwell … MANSON stood out, so many artists of so many genres of music. The energy there must be extreme in a good way.
