    Katurah definitely misplayed by not voting Dee, but I feel like ultimately the events of the finale almost didn’t matter. It wasn’t a game losing move for her but a game losing move for someone else as you say Rob. No matter what combo makes it to the end, a Reba seemingly always wins no matter what. Her vote just made it so it wasn’t gonna be Julie.
    Overall a good season, though it seemed like everyone outside of Reba could not see the bigger picture at all. The Reba 4 to me are the Tagi 4 of the New Era. Nobody knew they existed, and by the time they did, it was too late. Belo and Pagong voted out each other and in doing so voted out their only chances of stopping them.

      @jbee9361 10 месяцев назад +1

      I'm not totally sure about that. The jury seemed disappointed that she failed in fire-making, as if they were rooting for her. My biggest surprise was that Austin got so many votes. He was likeable but there were glaring errors in his gameplay especially compared to Dee. So it's possible that Austin would have won.

    • @gerrya2133
      @gerrya2133 10 месяцев назад +4

      @@jbee9361 after seeing how many votes Austin got, I think the jury would have, rightfully, voted for any Reba to win.
      The game was lost before that final five vote. There was no combination at final five where a non-Reba was winning.
      The game losing move was teaming up to vote off Emily.

    • @TheAckeePlant
      @TheAckeePlant 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@gerrya2133 Precisely. We know from everyone trying to get her out, Julie was a huge threat. Then Austin still pulled a ton of votes next to Dee, and Dee of course won. Reba always wins.

    • @elainel3058
      @elainel3058 9 месяцев назад

      @@gerrya2133 but they didn’t team up to vote out Emily! The vote was on Julie, but Dee told Julie to use her idol and act surprised! It was Dee and Julie who decided to vote Emily! Smart move on Dee’s part! Dee saves Julie and gets a vote to win!

    • @gerrya2133
      @gerrya2133 9 месяцев назад

      @@elainel3058 True. About them not teaming up for that vote.
      I deleted my second paragraph where I was going to say leaving yourself with an exact final three you need with seven left is still stupid risky. Better to have four like Reba where you can afford to at least lose one.
      And I deleted it because that paragraph keeps digging me deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole.
      Because then even if we look at eight and all four non-Reba were one board, then that also doesn't equal to what Reba did, since the Rebas were I position to win if at least one of them made it out of eight, and the four non-Reba would need three of eight to all make it.
      Eliminating Kellie was the Reba four's best move. The removed the person they recognized as the person who could pull a resistance together against them.
      Reba made sure they were four against individuals so shattered they not only didn't know to take out a foursome, they didn't even take out strong pairs that were left.

    I love that Stephen’s favorite was Katurah because same! Love coming here and hearing so much talk about Katurah. Like I knew it would have been so difficult for her to win especially with so much of her story in the edit being focused on someone else but that didn’t stop me from loving her! She was a joy to watch even as she foiled all the plans lol. I just have so much respect for her. And I saw the path to victory like both of you saw too!

  • @HugoSH93
    @HugoSH93 9 месяцев назад +5

    I don’t understand fans sometimes. The edit this season was pretty brilliant. They gave Dee enough focus and screentime so she always seemed like a viable winner, particularly once Emily left. But the season NEVER made it a Dee-centric storyline so that there weren’t other viable people who were potential winners. This was the most balanced edit the show could have given us with a Dee win. It never felt like a pagonging because everyone in the jury was edited so well.
    So to hear the “Dee was such an obvious winner” takes is so disappointing. Long gone are the days of Redemption Island, One World, or even more recent seasons like Ghost Island or Island of the Idols where it was clear who was getting the “winner’s edit” and main focus. That was Emily this season, not Dee. So let’s give credit where credit is due.

    Final 5 vote represented the entire season in my eyes. People not making their optimal move due to relationships and playing scared instead of playing to win. The self preservation argument for Katurah I understand could come from a place in her horrific past, however in this game whether she survived that vote or not it did not matter if Dee was still there. Austin would have had an excellent chance of winning, had him and Dee not started this romance. That's when his judgement starts to get clouded. You can totally see when his feelings get stronger by how his play is impacted . It begins with Emily getting voted out. If Julie goes home that round that breaks Dee's strongest alliance leaving her more vulnerable. Emily was already saying there needed to be a big move, so they were going to start taking them down. She knew that four alliance was too strong. Then, Dee blindsides Austin with that outcome and Julie stays. She lies to him about Julie knowing. Again, his heart in the way. That's how Drew gets blindsided at the next vote, along with Austin again b/c Dee doesn't tell him the plan for Drew (his #1). He gave her the heads up on Julie, but Dee didn't return the favor for Austin with Drew.

    Rob you gotta stop calling the Luvu tribe a disaster tribe, they were far more closeknit than was shown in the show. Deshawn and Heather had a strong relationship that was completely omitted and the four Luvus that made it the farthest definitely had each others backs at a few voteouts. The Shan vote f.e., that doesn’t happen if Danny and Deshawn don’t see a path forward with Heather and Erika. It’s not a coincidence that 3 of the final 4 are Luvu people and a Luvu ends up winning. Tbh I think Danny replaces Xander there too if he hadn’t been a threat to win.
