I have what some people might think is a stupid question. First off I understand the blade is too long. BUT IF they would be smart enough to make this knife in a 3 inch model. Could this be legal in the UK? The UK laws state Non locking. wondering if the concept of "griplock" might qualify as a loop hole. As it stands the blade is too long, but that is not the question. If the only locking mechanism were the griplock... would it be legal? would it qualify as a locking blade?
+jackknifegermany I have been in contact with boker. The Smaller "unassisted" knife, lacks the "safety in the back of the knife" So there is NO lock. I would also assume it would require a detent at the 50% open, to prevent a "flick" opening I would also like to point out that Boker, Makes an entire line of knives, designed just to be legal in the UK. "boker plus 42" coming immediately to mind, Having a 50% detent, and no locking blade, and no assisted open. as well as a blade small enough to be legal on an airplane.
cool design and with uk legal carry in mind... you would think.. but then they go and spoil it by adding the locking option on the knife. so its not legal uk carry anymore. a real pity. was about to think about getting one of these.
ToAstYNaChO With me, the grind is the thing I care about the most, the steel the least. Of course, it would be extremely nice if the guys over on Blade HQ could use a calliper and tell us the thickness behind the edge, that'd be great!
***** Yeah, I'd definitely care less about the grind if I was confident in my regrinding skills, right now I'm using diamond stones and while they're great for sharpening freehand, the little regrinding I've done on them wasn't overly nice or easy. Of course, that's going to be based on my inexperience, so that's why I'm interested in blades in the grind I prefer and around/ under 10 thousands on an inch thick behind the edge. But you've sparked an interest in me to try and regrind my older opinel nº8 ( started at 5 thou, but it's at 15 now). How are you liking your Shirogorov btw, are you still as pleased with it as you were initially?
Gimmicky, not comfortable with the locking system. Looks like an accident waiting to happen to me. It also doesn't look comfortable with exposed spine top and bottom. I think I'll pass on this one. Thanks for bringing it out for the overview. thumbs up. I'll keep my Kershaw Knockout, Cryo, SOG Twitch II, CRKT Eros and some other flipper for my EDC, thank you.
I REALLY like this! Super cool design. Not terribly expensive. I'm interested.
Just ordered one of your website I'm so excited now
Will be getting it!

Looks good!
I would have just liked it to have the G&G Hawk signature pocket clip...

Blade HQ Overviews You said the beetle for inspiration, seems it's the Link . The beetle can't work without rubber band and don't have a safety.
good knife, why to use such cheap steel? would take if was better
Is this a hollow ground blade? It's a shame that there are so many great knives out there in the grind I like the least.
Honestly the grind shouldn't turn you off from a blade at all, it's probably the thing i personally care about the least, they all perform differently

Интересный механизм :)
Да, механизм привлекает, но практичность - вопрос.
