I gotta say that the lip balm comment was probably the most relatable thing that NL has said for me personally. IMO, I think that once you use lip balm and feel the true moistness that your lips can be, anything less becomes unacceptable.
it's basically conditioning. Like how you have to spend thousands of dollars on audio setups once you heard the true quality of HiFi. or you can't go back to a 1080p screen after being used to 4K.

Regarding the lip balm rant: I 100% agree. Same with anti-dandruff shampoo and hand moisturizer. It all contains ingredients to provide temporary relieve and cause more of the same symptoms in the long run. As a kid I used to have terrible problems with dry lips and used lip balm all the time. Then one time I decided it's not worth it getting bullied in elementary class for putting on lip stick all the time and the problem went away after a couple of weeks of not using it.

I knew a guy in the phillipines who claimed he was "allergic to ALL vegetables".
I know a guy who's allergic to most vegetables. It's both a nightshade allergy and another allergy to some other family of plants. He carries a card listing everything he can't eat but there are so many that it's safer for him to just say "all vegetables". So it might legit.
There is a big german youtuber/streamer called "Trymacs" who says he gets sick from eating vegetables. He also tried some in a video and it didn't go well :D

I feel you about the convenience stores; when I lived in upstate NY I got so used to Stewart's, and then anytime I left I was always disappointed by the quality of gas station convenience stores elsewhere

Yeah. It was in there when Rebirth came out, pretty sure it was in there in the original game too. Only Repentance that removed it and made it only available from item rooms and blowing up mushrooms

What was the deal with letting the first boss live?
If you go for some time without hurting the boss whatsoever, it eventually flies off and gives you a pretty good active. Also, the boss is a pain for early floors, so it's just easier and lazier to let it go
