My parents are from Scotland, so I was especially interested in this farm tour. Janet was so eloquent and a fountain of knowledge about her beautiful highland cows. I hope someone continues the tradition to keep them going. Great episode!!!
The history of Highlands in the US was so interesting. I love how they raise their herd. Now I want to try some of the beef. I look forward to following you personal farm journey
Thank you so much!! We used to raise beef and thought we raised the best ever. This highland meat was unlike anything we have eaten! So much flavor! We are for sure getting some highlands when we settle down again!
I've watched nearly all of your videos, and this was, by far, my favorite! I absolutely fell in love with the Highland cattle and her encyclopedic knowledge of them. Congratulations on another excellent story.
Awesome! Thank you! We have always had our eye on them for our future farm! After tasting the end product, they are for sure going to be on our farm when we settle down!
They are awesome animals. We are in Connecticut and we have a small fold of Highland Cattle we usually keep about 20 depending on the year. Currently we’re running a beautiful Highland bull named Olaf. One day I would love to build the farm big enough to have more acreage but probably have to move Connecticut to afford it. This is a great video!!!
You should! We used to raise our own beef, not highland, and could taste a huge difference. The highland meat was unlike anything we had eaten! So incredible! Will be getting some when we start farming again!
It is amazing. I will choose it over any breed of cattle. And that’s why I raise them now there are some drawbacks because they are slow growing, but they are amazing. It’s worth the time to finish.
We got some meat to try out and it was the most favorable meat we have ever eaten! Really saying something since we used to raise our own meat! We will for sure be raising them on our future farm!
@@BreakingNewRoots I did some searching on the internet, not easy to come by that is delivered, in the size that folks living in a one bedroom apartment can manage, and isn't sold out. I'll keep trying once a month seems you have to hit some places at the right time of year.
