@@rodmullen64 Well Eric was the producer before so he was kinda just on stanby and slowly got more and more incorporated in, but now hes no longer the producer, hes just a member that they don't introduce.
I guess Nick is still the sound guy so thats less weird but still kinda odd.
I've heard them intro's once in a while. Unless I'm Mandeling myself.

To defend Gavin on hot water, you don't always want to, the reason is that hot water could have flakes of rust compared to cold water
among other things such as Legionella especially if its left very still for a while and not used regularly. We have cleaning additives to remove the chance of it in toilets/showers at facilties.
Geoff stumbling into already existing products and businesses is always fun to me 🤣

In Britain many hot water systems were fed from a standing tank in the attic, usually covered. but sometimes not. My father warned me off drinking even the cold from the bathroom sink as it too fed from that tank.

Re: the water bubbles - water will have a particular amount of dissolved gas in it (e.g. oxygen, which is how fish breathe), and the amount of dissolved gas decreases with increasing temperature. Buried mains will be considerably cooler than water at room temperature so it'll start to leave the water when left out. Andrew mentioning that stuff carbonates better when cold is correct for this exact reason! The taste will also be affected by the temperature and the change in dissolved gases - a lot of things flavour the water in your area, which is why when you go somewhere with a different aquifer rock you might think the water tastes disgusting.
Also Gavin is correct about older systems in the UK - it's not true for newer systems, but old hot water tanks would not provide water that is technically "wholesome" by legal definition. It honestly is unlikely it'd be dangerous, but it was just safer to avoid actively drinking it, especially if it was a non-pressurised tank in the attic where dust etc could have got into the tank.
Also, water mains are under pressure. That's how water gets to your house. As it rests in a glass, that pressure is no longer there. Gases dissolve into liquids under pressure and come back out when not.
Pepsi barely tastes carbonated when its warm but when its icey cold those bubbles are like tiny razor blades.
As a plumber i must say, DO NOT run a hose off a tap and leave it always on (stopping flow only with a sprayer hose). The pressure can build up because u have the tap open and constantly under pressure, especially if u have the sprayer shut off, this will cause the hose to burst or leak from the connection points (tap & sprayer)

This truly was a fun time as someone who works in water and sanitation though. Water is indeed a complicated series of doors.
I live in a college town in Michigan and our tap water isn't potable
Boiling water only cleans it if you have biologically contaminated water so we use filtered pitchers with cold water (hot water is carries more minerals from the inside of our lead pipes)

I don't think having a gameplay video of Ratyboy on the old Let's Play channel would have any effect on the rights they bought. Although it's also never been clear to me if Andrew or RT owned the rights to Ratyboy (sans video games, of course).
I never understood the stale water thing. When I leave a cup of water out it gets warm, but that's it. If I add ice or put it in the fridge for a while it's indistinguishable from "fresh" tap water. The water sitting on the counter isn't any older than the water sitting in the pipes.
To add to the band member discussion at around 43:00: with Japanese artists, it's not unheard of for groups to keep adding new members when someone leaves. This can result in groups where the lineup is completely different than the original. Perhaps the most well-known case of this is Morning Musume, a pop idol group who started with 5 members in 1997. Every year or two, they've added 1-4 new members (there are 17 "generations", meaning they've added members 16 times over the years), as people leave (usually only one member at a time, although there have been exceptions).
The group is still going in 2024, and they've had a total of 47 members since the beginning. There are currently 13 members of the group, with the most senior having joined in 2011 and the most recent additions being this very year. All but the two oldest members were born after the group's formation.
With the original 5 members, one left as soon as 1999 and the last remaining original member left in 2005.
If anyone's familiar with the Rhythm Heaven series, you might recognise the name Tsunku. He created the group and is the dude who writes 98% of their songs even to this day.

About the water thing! I wonder if maybe it depends on where the water is sourced / how it's processed? I'm in Idaho and my glasses have the little bubbles that show up after leaving a cup out for a while!
Could also be the quality of the glass maybe? Like little cavitations where bubbles form somehow? 🤔
At least for North Carolina water, if you leave an open container Of liquid/water out overnight, the dust sparkles in the air, which is usually dead. Particles from humans and animals, get just accumulated into the water and leave a skim on top, plus or minus the plastic that dissolves in water whenever you leave it out, this is why it tastes old,...
If you have container of water that has lid on top and is sealed/ a cloth on top of container like a washcloth or microfiber cloth, water will be as you put in but slightly warm but taste about the same when you poured it.

If Andrew wants an actual solution he could always just get a new, taller tap for his sink, so his streamer bottle fits under it.
I saw a video of a cheese rolling competition (I’m not sure if it’s THE cheese rolling competition). With the hill the one I watched was on, it’s a wonder more people don’t get seriously hurt and/or die at that thing. Some of those falls were wicked

Andrew there are "at unit" water filtration systems. I would recommend having a hose like showerhead for filling. You could likely just run a short "faucet hose" to the filter unit and then to the shower head.
Tap water has chlorine dissolved for disinfecting which also gives it that "fresh" taste that we are now accustomed to. When it's sitting still in a glass, the chlorine turns to gas and forms the small bubbles and changes the taste to that "stale" But both are perfectly safe if you live in a big city. Different countries use different methods, that's why it's not advised to drink tap water when you travel, because your body is not accustomed to it.
Gavin is once again right. The reason you're not supposed to drink from the hot water tap in old UK houses is because the boiler is in the attic and the water sits there, dirty stuff like rats can get into it so there is a risk. It's far away in a dusty damp place and checked basically never, there is rarely sanitation control for that water to make sure it's drinkable and because of this there is/was a law to not mix the hot and cold water. Because you drink from the cold one. Now whether there is a real risk nowadays idk, ours like most is covered up and I don't see it getting contaminated but it is the general recommendation. And I can't shake that feeling that hot water is the dirty pipes, clean enough for cleaning but not drinking

Andrew's story about hearing the unedited version of I Like It is basically the same way I was introduced to Get Low. I first heard it in Need For Speed: Underground, where the verses go silent at the end of almost every single line because it needed to be cleaned up that much, but that's the only version of the song I knew for years... until I picked it for karaoke one time and learned what I was missing.

Gwar does still have original members. Mike Bishop was there from the begining, he was Beefcake, quit in '94, rejoined in '99, left in '00. and now is currently back in the band as the singer, Blothar. then theres a couple that, while werent there at the formation, were on their first album and have since been in the band: Brad Roberts - Jizmak and Mike Derks - Balsac.

My parents are south american and when ever we fill the kettle, they specifically tell me to only fill it with cold water to boil
I agree with gav. Water in a tank has aluminum leaching into it from the anode rod. So, I don't use hot water for cooking or drinking.
