Thanks for this video. Esterbrook has a lot of nice pens all rather expensive for me. I await them creating a sub $100 pen. Visconti can do it. When I saw this Raven, like you, I wanted it. But I have so many pens my subconscious screamed - Nevermore!
I have been looking at this pen and just haven't pulled the trigger. I guess I was going to go for the piston filler version. I don't even know if it is still available. My first bottle of ink was Aurora Black. It is perhaps the standard for black ink. Is still have it but my go to is now Diamine Onyx Black which is darker and dries fast. Great review, Neil
Nice - I have a couple of vintage Esties, but haven’t pulled the trigger on a modern one. I have a hard time justifying the price for a steel nib, but I might need to get over that.
Amazing drawing. Pen does write nice. Love the all black. Awesome video.
Hey thank you. Sadly with work and RUclips I barely get to draw anymore so it felt nice to incorporate some drawing
Informative video, Thank you. I did realize the cap sealed like that. I appreciate the raven sketch.
Thank you, and yea their seal mechanism is why I love esterbrook
Liked the raven sketch!!!
Well thank you :)

You’re not wrong. I was hoping the JR would be a take down model but not really. Let’s hope towards the future
Nice

@@paulmchugh1430 I’ll have to look up that ink. Is it easy to clean out?
@WastedPaper cleans up easily. It is not water resistant
That is what noticed with my new estie Jurassic piston. The feed and nib were off. Except I did not notice till after inking and writing.
It’s still an easy fix just unfortunate for the ink you’ll lose 😢

How are the vintage ones? I’ve heard lots of unique nibs?
@ I have two and I love both of them -the nibs are very smooth. I only have a medium and a rigid fine - but I’m looking to get a Gregg Shorthand!
At least for now.
