Excellent! I just performed the treatment as per specifications to my 150L and 200L fish tanks and it appears to have some magical effects. I've noticed increased pearling from the plants afterwards and all fish are more active. The perscribed dosage was a little on the low side, as not a lot was happening. I then hit the tank after about 30-45 minutes with a syringe with another half dose in a more focused manner and thats when the real magic started. tons of bubbles from the stuff reacting!
I think I'm going to make this part of my waterchange routine. Siphon water out, treat the lower volume of water, let it sit and refill. Possibly hit it with a small shot of fresh bacteria, too!

Hey Mark, great video. I have a lot of algae (some BBA) in my tank and I'll be using this method today. One important point of note for your US viewers; The overlay showing the dosage on screen is incorrect. One US gallon is 3.875 litres and not 4.5 litres as quoted. The UK Gallon is 4.54 Litres.

Hi guys. I tried this yesterday in my 10 litre tank ( I dosed 2 ml of 3% h2o2) and I woke up this morning and it had completely removed the green hair algea. I'm absolutely amazed about this. Thank you so much, I can't tell you how disheartening it is to have a tank slowly taken over by green hair algae, especially when you're doing everything to prevent it in the first place. Again thank you Mark for sharing this, very grateful.

I can also say that peroxide treatment along with salt dips seems to be working for my treatment of Cladogonium Ogishimae (green fungus) and I was seeing no changes with just salt dips so pretty sure the peroxide is what is helping. Also, I use the metric system myself but a US gallon is under 4 liters, 3.78 or so, I believe.

This video is awesome Mark! Hope all is well. I did a little research on Hydrogen peroxide and found out that it is light sensitive and will break down more quickly when the light are on. I recommend shutting the tank lights off as well during the hour of treatment, not sure if it makes a difference but if the theory is correct its worth a try, plus it may save you from having to do multiple treatments to get the desired effect.

    - Why shut off the filter and why for 1 hour? Does the H2O2 harm the bio-filter and is it then gone from the water / safe after 1 hour?
    - Have you any experience with higher doses and what a safe maximum limit (for neo's) might be?

Hey Mark. Great video as always. I used to use h2o2 in my fish tanks for years when treating algae or even bacterial infections. (In larger quantities than you use for shrimp so I assume shrimp are more sensitive to it than fish as my fish never were bothered by it)
I now use in all my shrimp tanks once you confirmed safe dosage for shrimp safety. Thanks a lot for your videos.
Also I believe it kills a large percentage of micro fauna (limpets, copepods, midge fly larvae)
I had midge fly larvae in one tank and while not harmful it is very annoying. Small worm like lines stuck to glass and filter and small flys at the surface sometimes.
It killed the midge fly completely.

Well Mark if the device splits H2O into H2 and O then the O's will find eachother and form O2. It is the exact same thing that happens to H2O2 when it hits the nucleation pebble in the oxydators or any nucleation site in your tank.

Then do your dosing accordingly! It would be 1.261ml to 1 US gallon. He is rounding it off for ease of measurement.
Your measurement of how much water is in your tank minus substrate and rocks and roots and other things in your aquarium is not going to be precise to the 1/1000 of your US gallon measurement anyway .... It is a safe reference point only. Take the important information and judge yourself on how you want to do it.

If it helps the calculations if you make your volume calculations in litres, just divide by 3 to get how many millilitres of H2o2 to dose. then no need to worry about gallon conversions in any country. (1 cubic foot = 28 litres, or 1000 cm^3 = 1 litre. ) so my bow front 90cm tank is 150 litres after taking off gravel etc. so = 50ml of H2o2.

Ok, after that success? I went for more. What I did: I turned off all power, drained down my big tank like I would for a big water change. I then poured peroxide with the bottles pin hole doser over the worst affected plants since not all are. Same for driftwood and rocks, the Pleco keeps them clean. I dosed the Java moss, the Aquatic ferns sp.,the Bacopa,Rotala rotundifolia. Refilled the tank and put on power.
That was Sunday. Today,Monday,I see the algae has turned slightly blanched. Fish are eating that now that it's broken down. I also think the water looks..purer. I THINK the Peroxide kills much of the bacteria that slightly cloudys the water..just a little extra clearer after the normal non dosed water change.
I think this stuff for $2 in a big bottle is a near miracle cure. A great prophylactic to boot!

H2O2 is fairly good at removing cyanobacteria as well. A photosynthesizing bacteria that can be toxic over time if your fish and shrimps eat it. They usually won't on purpose, but it does mix in with other types of algae and gets eaten by mistake.

I’ve been using h2o2 for a while now and I can also say I see the jump in shrimp activity but I’ve also noticed it’s more like a temporary boost. I recently lost all of my shrimp in my tank due to what I believe is a fungus that is also effecting my ferns and devastated my S.Repens. I’m actually pretty sure it might have helped the shrimp survive longer and gave me enough time to fight off the fungus by manually removing it daily. It’s been nearly a 2 month long battle that is I hope finally commin to an end. Spot treatment with everything basically did nothing to what ever this was/is and I’ve found little info that related to my specific situation. But back to the topic at hand so far I’ve only seen good things from fairly regular use and I’m pretty sure like I said it was the only thing that some what held things off until I cld basically save my plants at least. I’m ordering my nxt batch of shrimp this weekend. Fingers crossed all is well now. Nano fish seem happier then ever and plants are looking good and ferns and s repens are bouncing back. Prolly just see if I can get some neos to breed and I’ll be thrilled after that battle.

Just do it everytime you see a problem with the tank. For me usually, just one treatment will do the job. Then i do a water change the next day and add new bacteria in. If the problem persist, do it again one week later. I've tried doing it twice a week, fish and shrimp seems to be fine but the snails didn't like it. They'll hide in their shell for 2-3 days after each treatment.
