Thanks Paul for sharing some of your extensive knowledge and experience.As a novice in this area,please excuse my ignorance. But how does a layman distinguish between the various models of Land Cruisers i.e. 70 series,76,78 ,Troopy, 105 ?

Hi Jonno, thanks for the kind words for Paul. The 76 is the 4 door station wagon. 78 is the Two Door Troop Carrier (Troopy), the 79 series is the double cab Land cruiser bakkie. They are share hardware/engine options.
The 105 has a softer ride, more luxurious 'large suv' station wagon. Looks similar to the 80 series, but used IFS instead of solid front axel. Similar dimensions to the 76. They all have pros, and one or two cons. Paul has covered all the trucks in the series if you check out the playlist. Cheers.

@@Africasideways I may be wrong but I think the 105 also has solid live axles like the 80 series. Most of the time at least.
In its long tradition of great variety, Toyota might have possibly released a few 105 with IFS somewhere in this old wide world but from what I've seen here and there, the 100 series has primarily an IFS suspension while the 105 tends to come with solid axles rather:

What tyre size do you recommend on an 80 series with a 2inch lift

Sure, Paul normally goes with 265/75/r16, or alternatively 285/75 R16 if you like a wider tyre with a bit more clearance.
