- This is a fix for the previous video. Dimmed Windows logos (L-R: 8, 8.1, 10, 11) mean the sound that is playing does not belong to that version of Windows. There is only one fake sound here (at end of video), however the rest are real.

2:18 windows 8 wins for best sounding hands down. I've heard 10s version too much to like it anymore and 11s is very subtle which is nice to not annoy me but for ear candy it definitely goes to 8

I replaced my Windows 10 sounds with the Windows 8 sounds. Here's how you can do it too:
1. Download a Windows 8 ISO file, then download and install 7-Zip
2. Open the ISO file with 7-Zip and navigate to the "sources/install.wim" file. install.wim has the exact same file structure as your Windows installation
3. Copy any .wav files you want to use from the ISO into a folder on your desktop
4. Open "C:\Windows\Media" (assuming "C:" is your Windows installation), and individually delete any existing .wav files you want to replace. This folder, and all files within are protected. Change the folder's permissions to remove the protections so you can delete these files
5. Drag your desired Windows 8.1 sounds into the Media folder in your Windows 10/11 installation
6. You're done.
But looks like a Windows 10 Technical Preview :)

That's what I said, I skipped the sounds that are meant for Windows Vista and 7. Dimmed logos means that sound does not belong to that version of Windows.

Windows 11 sounds are too similar to each other for a user friendly experience.
Also, I was wondering why people used that as the 10 startup sound, because I could never find one.
I found someone's upload of the Windows 10 animation but they titled it "Windows 10 Startup Sound/Tune".
Windows 8/8.1/10 just used the windows 7 startup sound.

What does 'Proximity Connection and Notification' used for really?
According to Control Panel, they're supposed to be used for NFP Connection (Proximity Connection) and NFP Completion (Proximity Notification).
I remember when i used to have a samsung windows 8 laptop,now the laptop sadly is broken and i use an IPhone 8 Plus now
