UPDATE: Now you dont have to rename the files. When you click DOWNGRADE, die Firmware was renamed from the website. You only have to put the file on the SD card and start flashing.
@@MrD yes i know. I testet it with your workflow and it dosent work. Then i use the files directly from the Website and it works fine. THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEOS, YOU HELPED ME A LOT IN MANY OTHER CASES!
I just installed a WalkSnail VRX onto my HDZero Goggles. I am running the 34.40.15 Firmware and it is almost un-flyable... Lot's of smearing and penetration/range is very lacking even with TruRC omnis on top for antennas and even worse with stock antennas. Is this a common problem on 34.40.15... should I downgrade and if so which version? Thanks
I would check the antenna setup. There’s no way the TrueRC omnis should perform worse than stock. Is there anything on the aircraft that could be causing blocking? Do you lean your head forward when flying? I’ve not yet had the chance to test with 34.40.15. But I have used a slightly earlier beta, which should have the same performance in regard to smearing. I found that that there wasn’t any in the tests that I did. The range was fine too. I was skimming the ground at speed, and still had plenty of detail. ruclips.net/video/Y1UWqpLKfZ4/видео.html This is 700mW, 25Mbps, nano cam, v1 vtx, low light in the evening, and all goggles DVR. I’m using TrueRC matchstick omnis and stock patches here. So similar to your setup. The matchsticks do put the omnis above my head. Other than the long carbon shafts, they’re basically singularly omnis. I will check with 34.40.15 as soon as I get a break in the weather.
@@MrD true rc definitely performs better then stock antennas. I actually just got back from flying (4packs) and the only thing I did was lower the MW output to 700mw versus 1200mw and it actually seemed to improve it. There is still some smearing but not near as badly as it was. I was at a different location also.
@@P.G._FPV if you’re close, 1200mW can swamp the signal. So sometimes less is more. It would be great to see some kind of dynamic power in this system. Some days can also just be bad for RF. The day I made that video, a friend was having bad signal where I didn’t. He doesn’t usually have problems with it. Still, as soon as I can, I’ll fly the latest firmware. Maybe even at the same spot for a bit of consistency.
Hello, yeah im stuck in downgrading because the actual webpage doesent have the downgrade option... so What can I do? Im experiencing probems with version 38.43.4 on fatsharsk dominator V1 goggles... Thank you Darren l..l,
@@MrD figured that out about 5 minutes after my comment haha! Still had too many issues with the goggles in general so they are going back and i’m giving up on walksnail for now
@Shauny_D That's the thing I upgraded to the latest version and know it doesn't work. I tried to downgrade by changing the version number name, and still nothing.
Much appreciated! Maybe one day they will get this system perfect, if there is such a thing in today's world!
Nah; there is no perfection. But it can still get to be very good.
Thanks for this....Is it the same procedure for the stand alone VRX Module Darrin ?
Yes. It’s the same procedure. You would just use the VRX firmware instead of the goggles firmware.

It’s great that they changed that. It was not the case when I recorded the video. It will be so much easier now. Thanks for sharing.

Incorrect, for me at least. It recognizes that it is an older file and beeps, telling you it is not an update and not moving any further.
What are the problems with this version people are experiencing, I've been flying this since it was released with no issues.
Worse penetration and the ground is smearing again. Like it used to on early firmware.
@Mr.D - Falling with style oh right thanks Darren.
@@MrD wow i didn't know this. Is there a video talking about this regression specifically? Maybe a comparison of footages?
No. Just lots of pilots seeing it, including me. There is plenty of chat about it in the official Walksnail Facebook group.
31.36.8 beta was probably one of the better fw files of late.
Can you give me the website that I could downgrade
even after using renmaed file my vrx is fast beeping and refusing update what can i do?

Did you find a solution I am having the same problems
The site to download these files does not have the downgrade option any longer
You can just manually rename the firmware file. I don’t know why they removed that option?
