    Great video! Honest review.
I run two Deere Z970R's 35Hp. One with a 60" M.O.D deck and one with a 72" deck With a foot operated grassflap, same as the one that you have. I am very happy with both units. Plenty of horsepower, if I get to ambitious and mow too fast in tall grass I can hear the blades slow down a little and then it will start to leave lines or cut grass streaks behind the mower where the blades overlap each other so I just slow down a little but I expect this to happen with any mower. I keep the blades sharp and let it cool down at idle a little bit before shutting the engine off to avoid any backfiring. I also have the Tweels on both front and rear of both machines. I am very very happy with both units and I would purchase them again. My only complaints are that they are a little front heavy which hinders steering maneuverability or responsiveness a little but not too terrible. And if I park the mower on the grass to blow the unit off, the radiated heat from the hydrostatic drive units will kill the grass directly underneath each Hydro. I won't notice the spots until I mow the next week but the spots that they leave are about 7" in diameter and look like damage from dog urine but it is the mower causing it. 😢 I feel that my machines should have hydraulic oil coolers installed from the factory.
I would highly recommend that during mowing that you keep the air cooling screens clear on the engine and above both hydrostatic drive units to avoid getting things too hot. Also, don't forget to remove the engine cowling cover as per the Deere and kawasaki owner's manuals and blow out any grass accumulation to avoid overheating the engine!

Get a diesel dude. Your mower has plenty of power, but you want to mow three feet tall grass, weeds, brush. You need more torque.

Agree with the grass flap issue. It is expected I guess. Wish I would have gone with the MOD deck. Overall, love the mower.
How much were the Z glides? Curious how much a different it makes?

I noticed that the 930-950-960 really throws the grass and plan on demoing in the spring and the stand on too and wounder if it throws the grass like the zero turns do

Keep it throttled up about half when you shut it off. That will fix your back fire. That’s how these motors are designed.

    Good video review.
Would you recommend the rear discharge option ?
    Thanks

From an HP standpoint, yes, I think a rear discharge would be better. But for me, I wanted to be able to throw the clippings out of where we walk.

You have to understand that a deck can only handle so much grass capacity it doesn’t matter what engine. When you’re going over deep grass and a ton of grass clippings you are almost expecting the blades to pass through a solid surface without bogging. I’ve heard the Diesels even bog in deep wet grass clippings. Please be realistic in your expectations of a lawnmower engine as it’s not an 850 hp supercharged Hemi.

Mine backfires to when I shut it off.

The dealership told me not to idle it down before shutting it off. It works. If you shut it off at high RPM, it doesn't backfire!
