the recording is scuffed because all codecs have major problems with lots of randomly colored particles unless you record and upload at super high bitrate (which RUclips would probably super crush down to junk)

My video settings should be solid! My glasses are clean! Why is it always so blurred with Vampire survivors?!!! WHY?!!!" At least I can sleep at ease... So many nights of unrest... The voices, the shadows!!!
I feel Josh's pain. My brain literally starts to turn off after a Vampire Survivor run enters endgame, because of the visual spam. And I'm pretty sure my GPU/CPU start wanting a nap themselves given the lag... Also man, the knives just always feel like a trap. They're obnoxious to line up where you want them to be, and just feel like a worse version of the Magic Wand.
I think the knives are genuinely the worst weapon in the game. In the early game, they don't deal enough damage for you to just walk straight into a crowd, so they're pretty much always aiming away from the big pack you're fleeing from. And in the late game, they just seem weaker than the other weapons.
@@pegusus12346 tbh everything is worse than the garlic early game, especially when you get those swarm rush things like the bats in this level. So much exp and zero risk

A Nice tip for any future videos with crazy number of things happening on screen. If it's not a recording issue it might be a older RUclips issue which might not have been fixed. By forcing your videos and uploading as 4K even if it's only 1080p, any video that is played back in 4K has higher a bitrate allowance and reduces pixilation / bitrate tunnelling, this is usually noticeable in games like GTA 5 when the main channel plays races.
Tom, I bought this game because of you. It joins the list of Peglin, Total War: Warhammer 2 and the one game whose name I've forgotten where you use demolition tools and end up stealing a bunch of sports cars and fine art. So far you have a 100% success rate with game recommendations. I really appreciate that you don't try to sugarcoat things or pretend you like games that you don't.
"I don't know what upgrades the gun." On stream when he unlocked Tiragisu he was told by multiple people that it upgraded the new weapons and verbally acknowledged it. Classic Tom. I also know for a fact that when he recorded this he didn't need to be on Beta to play this character as the game updated to include it during that stream.
Yeah I was really sus about the whole upgrade thing, the revive book has been in the game for a while now before the guns and it's a really random item to want to pick unless you know it's for that upgrade. On both his attempts as well. I understand it's for content but it's so unnecessary to lie about, unless he genuinely forgot and just subconsciously chose it.

And yea in alot of cases I wants picking it up previously because more damage tends to count for alot more that a rez (if you die once, you'll probably die again shortly anyway) so its good to have a reason outside of farming end of level death gold.
That new character's weapons are pretty neat. Combining them with the character who gets revives makes them even more powerful. Or the pentagram (or any cooldown-based weapon) with Christine to break it too
So from the 10 minute mark on, it just becomes a shmup. Without the setup required to record shmups. Requiescet in Pace, Josh's eyes. If enemies were bullets, this qualifies as danmaku. ... So I commented this before Tom upgraded the Bang Bang Shooty Guns into Patchouilli's Omnidirectional Laser, Marisa is going to be jealous. Then again, it is the library level, so I shouldn't be so surprised.
Guns are really good early since its kill mobs so fast, what i like to do is picking pentagram and bird so when you upgrade the bird and the guy you can pick up 2 more weapons and it the end its just pure madness
the whip is such an insanely good weapon for the early-mid game for waveclear and then just for giving you personal space near the end. maybe now that he values axes a little less he’ll try picking the whip up again because it would have worked a treat during that dicey last stand
Note: This character and the Song of Mana carrier did not have a cap on their Levelup Ability. Meaning that items that help with levelup would be realy usefull for them.

I feel like this would be a fun game to try doing challenge runs in. For istance - reach a certain level before the 10 minute mark, beat the level with X amount of weapons / items. Something like that
I don't want to spoil too much, but I will say that there is a working strategy for killing death. Killing death unlocks one of the 3 hidden characters. The wiki has good details on how to unlock all 3 hidden characters.

The guns aren't as OP without the tome, but they're still probably the best trash cleaner in the game
The guns, book, upgraded water, scythes, and the pentagram upgrade might be a very powerful combo
