So, regarding that weird Purple that the W Build has... I went back and checked your old 1x6 Pango videos and turns out that the Legendary was changed. The damage before was based on Damage Absorbed (Old Passive Damage Reduction Shield Crash gave) instead of Shield Remaining, which is how the new Shield Crash Legendary works right now after the Shield mechanic was added. That's why that Purple is counterproductive, it's because it's a Purple that was designed for an old Build that was literally the opposite to the new one, and some changes were made in order to try to adapt it.
Step 1) Go in with ulti or q Step 2) Take some damage while fighting (3 seconds) Step 3) Use w and to protect the huge shield number use disables etc. Step 4) W again for huge damage From what I can tell this was the intended usage but i still think its pretty weak.
I think you're about right, but it doesn't help that using the reduced cd of the W during ulti resets the shield, making it basically useless. I think it would fix this build quite a bit if you could use the W again at any point to lose the shield but deal the damage.
I love it when you do 1X6! Though I must say, and with all due respect to Xeno, the balance sucks in 1X6 now. It was great before, not perfect but atleast not outright broken. I wish he would be more open to feedback regarding this.
Pango W is very controversial build it is not about that build is bad it is because shield to easy to break because damage that shield takes not reduced by your armor and magical resistance, so if enemy can constantly deal damage to you even no attacking shield breaks to fast it should be tanky build, but it is shitty hybrid
Hey baumi, I was bored and was checking your old 1x6 vids, And an idea came up, what if Zeno made it so full custom lobbies can edit or opt out of certain rules like OG mod or something? Maybe that can be a possibility to make the game actually enjoyable to play again
Yeah, it is not so much a casting build, tho not quite an auto-attack build either, but mostly just a dynamic tanking build. Majority of dps in Shield Crash path comes not from the Legendary, but from the Epic incoming-damage-into-SC-damage talent, which converts facetanking into fighting power even if shield pops. You are supposed to double dip on health with Rare health-to-SC-shields talent and stack on top of that Rare Lifesteal talent with Legendary's pseudo-Lifesteal as well as with Invulnerability and damage reduction from Epic CDRed talent to constantly refill your healthbar to continously utilise Epic i-d-t-SC-d talent. Honestly, I feel like latter should be the Legendary, but guaranteeing its drop from choice of Legendary might make it a bit too powerful, dunno. But this build suffers from the same problem as any stop-hitting-yourself build does: it needs opponent to actually engage with you. If enemies simply run back to home turf instead of fighting on your terms, then the whole build crambles and you loose out on a lot of Epics. To circumvent this, SC path has Rare Slow talent and jump range increase from Epic Silence talent, but even with them it lacks damage output during chase. That's where the Legendary's "primary" use comes in: if opponent doesn't break the shield in time - like when they are running away - they get punished with Pure damage. Period. That's pretty much all this part of the Legendary does. Well, theoretically, in late game you can combine it with Swashbuckle or Lucky Shot Legendaries to completely neuter enemy damage output and literally outheal SC shield, but you would have to be way ahead of them for this to be the case. In reality, on W path you just focus on making yourself a wall. Pangolier's casting build is mostly in Rolling Thunder path, tho if you focus more on Disables, Lucky Shot can work too. Shield Crash just ain't it.
I think you should receive damage for 3 seconds and then use the first shield crash. Wait until it becomes red and then use the remaining red shield damage.
i think one of the things that got you confused is that you're playing pango and not pa, so going attack-based wouldn't make you a worse pa. it'd make you an attack-based pango. who has swashbuckle and lucky shot the other thing is the contradictory epic, which doesn't really seem all that contradictory because it looks like it's supposed to empower the _first_ w. in fact, i kinda doubt it even works on the second w? either way, the epic seems more geared towards improving the first w as a defensive ability, which would then feed into the second w's offense thanks to the bonus shielding _if_ you successfully execute your gameplan for keeping the shield up which is where these two things come together. see, this looks like the kinda build where it can work on two different axes. you can either emphasize attack damage to maintain the shield durability while brawling thanks to its pseudo-lifesteal, or you can do what you did with your items and focus on kiting away from damage to hit multiple w2 nukes over the course of a fight. the problem i see is that you kept trying to play it like the former while actively avoiding stuff that would let you actually do damage in a head-to-head fight, so you didn't get much extra shielding from your damage, so all your opponents who _did_ build to straight-up brawl tore through your shield easily and, well, now you lost all the damage you were centering your build around just kinda feels like a case of an ability that works well if you read up on it and plan out the ways you can play with it ahead of time, but when picking it up in the moment it can be easy to miss how all the dots connect. esp. when you get caught on certain key details that aren't even really key details
I really think the duel mechanic just, ruined this game mode so hard Other game modes with duels were designed around duels This game mode was NOT, it was a half-assed afterthought Arbitrarily being swept away to a duel doesn't match with the original vision of this mode at all, nor does it mesh at all into the way the mode works with its objectives and goals If the goal was just, a kill count, sure, the duel would make sense. But the goal is NOT that. It works in other modes because the goal is entirely to kill in those modes The duel is so counter to both how the original vision of this mode, and even the rest of the way the mode is outside the duels
Meh, not interested in this game mode, it's still the same game mode that tries to balance things that don't need balancing and does not balance things that need balancing.
He does not play rank tho. The point is to not have people constantly picking the same 4 meta hero’s to see in every lobby and just play what looks fun. It’s fun to pick whatever ya feel like and have time to experiment without the other 5 players picking the same hero’s with the same build

It's honestly kinda crazy how Xeno managed to ruin a great gamemode through sheer over-engineering.
Man the 1x6 fienders have emerged lol
