I absolutely love how Jayna speaks of how some of us believers sometimes may fall into the lies of the enemy, while we are going through troubling times in our lives. This was the realest thing I've heard. Many don't speak of the moments we may have when we doubt if Jesus hears us. God has done such amazing things in our lives but many fall short in putting our full trust in Him. This is when we must apply the scripture that we are to walk in the Spirit and not flesh. I am still learning. So, grateful that He knows our hearts. I personally am going through some struggles in my life. What helps me is where I am weak He is strong. I can't do anything compared to what He can do. His ways/thoughts are so much higher than our mere human minds are thinking. This was just a small portion of this chat..:) But, it was so good. BTW...I love how she called it out and said..it's a LIE. God does hear His children but, he must also build our character(that's the tough part).
Not a "hack" necessarily, but over the years as a mom I've been learning to let a lot of things go that I used to make a big deal over. When my kids argue, for example, I give them space to work it out on their own instead of stressing out trying to resolve it for them. Or if my 12 year old refuses a jacket in the winter time, I think the weather will speak to him louder than my nagging could 😂
I’ve felt a bit like-minded with Jayna since the first episode but just gotta say I’m about 3/4 or the way through this episode and feeling very kindred spirit with every opinion and personality trait mentioned 😂 thanks Jayna! Megan, you are one of only 2 RUclips channels I subscribe to and listen to often so always loving your content and Jayna thanks for making me feel validated or saying the reply I’m thinking in the conversation haha
I love this podcast style that you guys do! I just started listening 2 days ago and have binged them all 😂❤ the fact that you are both so similar but also have different opinions, on things like screen time for you kids and cleaning before or after guests leave, gives people multiple perspectives and keeps things light!
That's the whole idea. I feel like there are so many opinions out there and of course we're all doing what we think is BEST for OUR families, but we also need to be open minded enough to realize just because someone does it differently than we do, doesn't make them WRONG!!
A "hack" I have as a mom of 4 little is having a cleaning schedule. Mines very easy and in my head,no paper clutter 😅 Tues- Fri I clean 2 rooms a day, each day of the week the same rooms. Sat- mon are busiest days for me so I don't clean on those days. However I do pickup and sweep through my house every morning. That way everything gets cleaned once a week and I'm not feeling overwhelmed by a dirty house. Just a great system that works for me 😊
I just love you girls!! I am 65 and retired; I have 2 grown sons and 6 grandchildren. It would have been SO nice back in my younger years to have youtube, IG, FB to gain information and resources. To have a support for what I was doing at the time. Working full time outside of the home, raising 2 sons, volunteering at their school, sports, etc. What I would have given to have pick up grocery!!!!! I am Catholic so I say a rosary every morning. I set aside time to pray and be intentional with my prayers. I started a Prayer Warrior group on FB and it is a wonderful place to ask for prayers or to pray for people. I consider myself a prayer warrior and I truly do pray for people. Sometimes it takes me a long time to get through my list. Also, if I happen to look at a digital clock or my phone and the time is an even time i.e. 11:11, 10:10, 1:11, I stop whatever I am doing and I pray a prayer of thanksgiving for one minute. It has been interesting and amazing how often this seems to happen. I always feel inspired after I listen to you "girls" as I like to call you as you are both so refreshing and inspiring to listen to. My mom/grandmother hack is to NOT sweat the small stuff and realize it is ALL small stuff!!
I always write at the top of my daily sched What A Difference A Day Makes...and it's so true. When I feel one way I completely forget what it's like to feel any other way and that reminder is so true. 😁 Also a hack I heard about today I think is great is to put your dishwasher utensil container(s) in your kitchen sink so silverware can be quickly rinsed and go right in the container.
I am stepping out of my comfort zone to comment. A note about sick children in the middle of the night. I've spent those times practicing "the sacrifice of praise" or to list things I'm thankful for. It really encourages me pray like this.
Thank you! There are so many things i could have/should have done. I failed to take my thoughts captive and concentrate on the Truth of scripture. I pray I do better next time
I’m so happy to see y’all back! I know we always think it’s “just the flu” but one of my neighbors lost their son on Christmas week to the flu. I am still so heartbroken I can’t believe it
Can you share which podcasts/youtube channels you two like listening to? Listening to you ladies is a breath of fresh air while I do things around the house. Thank you!! I really appreciate your real non forced content even if it's a once in a blue moon thing.
I can relate so much to Jayna! Thank you so much for opening up and being so honest, Jayna! You’re just so real and relatable. I would love to hear from you more often.
Megan look into the four tendencies with Gretchen Rubin to get more of an understanding of why certain people don't like setting new year's resolutions.
I came here to watch Megan’s video then I saw this one so I debated for a second and watched this first! I didn’t think I set New Year’s resolutions but I do quite a few of the ones mentioned so I guess somewhere along the line I resolved to do the things and did them. Walking is my form of excercise and I love, love it. It’s been a huge blessing in my life in countless ways.
So glad you ladies are back doing the podcast. I always leave feeling I have had a visit with two friends. Also, challenged to think about some things discussed. Thank you both.
Yall are such motivators for me when I need to get work done, exercise, etc. lol my tendency is to relax to the point I get procrastination stress. Whenever I need to get in gear I just watch one of your videos and it gives me some pep in my step
Yay love brighter winter!!! Always starts my yr off right with lots of reading! Also love the scrib app, much better than audible!! So far in 2023, I’ve read 7 books 😊
I've missed these episodes! So much truth and honesty. ♥️ Thank you for being transparent about the struggle when your kids are sick! I had a very similar experience over Christmas. We all got sick and missed time with extended family and it brought up all these emotions that seemed to hit me out of nowhere. I spent a bit of time Christmas Eve crying in my bathroom. I was able to pray and refocus and remember the real meaning of it all for Christmas day, but man, I feel like I totally ruined Christmas Eve for myself and my kids with an ungrateful attitude.
So happy to have y’all putting out these videos again! I love listening to y’all chat while I get things done around my house, and I always leave feeling inspired ☺️
I'm just starting the video but oh my gosh, I was SO excited when I opened RUclips and you guys had a new video up! It was my 1st video and I clicked on it instantly! ❤️
Yayy!! Y’all are back🙌🏼agree with what Jayna said about listening to podcasts or something while doing daily “mundane” housework,I usually listen to RUclips videos and it’s become a highlight of washing dishes, folding laundry etc!🤗love y’all’s content🤍
An organizing/cleaning “hack” I’ve recently implemented is to do any chore immediately that takes less than five minutes to complete. All those quick chores have really added up to a cleaner more organized house.
Not a "hack" as much as a principle to live by... I have found that if I start my morning by memorizing (all or part) of a verse from my Bible reading/devotion that morning helps my attitude. Instead of 'reacting' to life, the verse seems to come to the fore-front of my brain and the 'reaction' dissipates. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
Jayna- thanks for sharing your story.. we have 3 under 3 (was 3, 2 and under) our twins were 3 months old last month… and all 3 kids got RSV.. we were in and out of the ER.. our twins had breathing retractions, so bad, they wanted to transfer them to a childrens hospital… and there was no rooms available.. it was the weekend before Christmas.. all our family was sick, my dad had surgery.. and my husband had to work a winter storm.. 18hr shift.. I was so alone.. I prayed and prayed and I felt like God was ignoring me.. I was exhausted.. when the kids were asleep, I couldn’t sleep in fear that I wouldn’t hear them cry… then I got sick.. and I was so upset that God let me go thru that alone.. and things from our past bothered me…. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.. I know it was a test of faith.. but it was a hard test that I am sure I failed
@@athaleaclaypool8388 I hope your babies are getting better…. Sometimes in the moment, it’s hard to see what God’s plan is for us, but I can promise you that he has our best interest at heart. 💖
I'm also a mom of twins and know how incredibly difficult it can be in those first few months, especially when they're both sick at once AND you have other children. I will pray for your family's health, for you to get a good nights' rest, and for God's peace. And please know that you are never alone ❤
Hey Jayna, same on the listening to something while working! That's my happy place these days! Also I've been making your Mac and cheese recipe and my family loves it and I love the lack of dirty dishes!
My kids are grown now, but my hack when they argued was this: They had to both sit on the sofa and neither could leave until the other one gave them permission. Sometimes they’d be there for a bit but they always came together in the end. It really worked well 😊
I absolutely loved hearing hearing she has doubts and is so honest about it.I’m faithful I trust God but those thoughts creep in. I had a healthy full term pregnancy and 4 days after birth my baby unexpectedly died from Hirschsprung’s Disease. A year later and We have a new healthy baby but those thoughts are hard and real. But he is always faithful even when we’re struggling.
Goal / scripture writing is one I stuck w and it made me proud of myself and now I’ll do this another year. Taking a walk is something I need to do again. It was soooo cold up here this winter and when it got milder I “forgot”.
Megan, I want to thank you for suggesting "The Bible Recap". I have been doing this for 26 days now and feel I'm learning so much. This is the 1st time I have read through The Bible chronologically. It is bringing The Bible to life for me. At 64 years old this proves you are never too old to learn something new.
The no fold “method” is the best. I first heard about it from Natalie Bennett and it’s saved me so much time with my baby’s clothes and now that she is a toddler she just pulls them all out anyways.
Love visiting with you ladies! Jana, if you are ever near Murrells Inlet, SC, there is a restaurant (Gulfstream Cafe) that serves the seafood dish I think you were describing. Seafood Cioppino, I think? I havent been there in years but still think about how GOOD it is!
I enjoyed this. So many great tips! Good motivation for the new year. I've been following a Bible in a Year reading plan for a few years. Even if I miss some of it, I keep going and do what I can every day. Less pressure to do it perfectly and more daily, quality time in the Word.
Our local library doesn't do late fines any more. They simply give a grace period (not sure how long, or if they contact you at all with a reminder), but if the book isn't returned, they simply cancel your library membership.
Yay, so glad you're back!! My hack is more of a life hack than a mom hack, but if you burn your finger, you can put it to your ear lobe and for some strange reason, it will suck up the heat and take the burn out. It sounds crazy, but try it next time you get a burn, it really works!!
Love these videos so much. Even though I am old now, I can relate to all of your conversations. Keep up the good work! Happy New Year! Glynny from upstate NY
I'm from the UK and I think feminism has a different reputation. It is just about equal rights for men and women, so letting women and men choose if they each want to work or be a stay at home parent, each being treated the same by the law and each being fair to each other (working to stop abuse etc). I'm beginning to wonder if feminism means something different in the US as people seem to generally think all those things but say they are against feminism which is interesting 🤔
I live in the US and there's been a lot of propaganda about feminism, IMO and agree with your summation of it. I'm a senior citizen and saw some radical-type elements back when I was in high school and college, but you get extremes with anything... even religion.
Feminism in the US is toxic, man hating garbage. Anti man, hold men back to let women succeed, men are the root of all evil, men are the enemy. Unless, of course, they IDENTIFY as women. I'm female, if that matters.
Thank you for another great video, and I especially liked that you were honest right up front, about the prayers, and sometimes being frustrated! As a Christian, I feel like I maybe should NEVER feel that way, we KNOW to look up and we KNOW prayer is everything, but it's that little negative chat from the Devil himself, that gets in there, glad it's not just me! I wish I was sitting in a third chair with you both!
The kid clothes no fold bin system is something I swear by… ahem, “affirm.” 😂 My sister struggles with her kid’s laundry and I’m like my 4 and 6 year old successfully put theirs away in 2 minutes. That’s huge! It also easily allows them to get dressed themselves everyday.
Instead of New Years resolutions I prefer New Years ‘Intentions’.. Listening to you with a cup of coffee in Australia. When my kids were at home I had 5 washing baskets and dealt out the washing like dealing cards. Everyone put away their own washing including my husband, it worked so well.
No-fold method is NOT shameful! Our kids get their own laundry out of the basket each day after supper and put it away. Only church and 'going out' clothes get hung, and the younger ones have S hooks that they hang jeans and pants on so it's easy for them.
Something to consider when looking for books about feminism... Reading books by actual self-described feminists, versus reading books written by people who hate feminism. Would you recommend to a nonbeliever that they seek out books written by atheists to understand Christianity better? Often those books make silly arguments too, that I've never heard any actual feminist make. If you desire to construct a solid rebuttal that a feminist can take seriously, one grounded in the reality of feminism will sound more thoughtful than one assuming propaganda is fact.
I’m 40 next month and always cross my legs - no spider veins!! And I’ve had a few kids 😅 My mom is 66 and doesn’t have them either; she always told me it’s genetic.
Lucky to you Lindsey. Some of us aren't so lucky in that territory. My legs look terrible but I can't change any of it unless I have thousands of dollars and vanity to correct them. I don't mind, it is the way my body is.
It’s normal for people to have a secondary virus with the flu. When my kids were sick I really didn’t need to sleep especially if they were having trouble breathing. I guess God gives you what you need when you need it.
I know this was before Christmas but I work in the schools and before Christmas it was flu and stomach bugs running through the kids. Now it is strep. There has been no break when you work with elementary kiddos.
No fold laundry!!! What a brilliant idea! I have 3 kids and I can wash and fold but it sits on one half of the kitchen table for days on end! My mother will dislike you for this idea but I think it's brilliant!! 💡
I'm with Josh on resolutions/goals. Definitely don't recognize Jan. 1 as the beginning of a new 'goal' year. I think I would rather set a new goal at times that make sense with our schedule. Maybe I just have too much on my plate right now. Homeschooling 6 kids keeps me busy enough. And I feel like any goals I make aren't going to last past like 4 days. Just being honest. My fantasy self is a goal setter, though! LOL
Megan, I don't understand how not folding clothes will work when your kids are older or for adults. I can't imagine moving around a huge pile of clothes as convenient. Maybe you meant it for very young children to help. But folding an item in half would get them started as they grow up. Encouraging a pile of wrinkled clothes seems the opposite of a life skill to learn.
Megan, a book on feminism I think you should check out is called…Hood Feminism: Notes from the Women That a Movement Forgot. I think it would be worth your time.
I have heard that "Israel" actually means to wrestle with God in Hebrew. I always think about that when I am struggling with my relationship to God. When I feel frustrated and angry that things seem to be going wrong in my life. I think as long as we remember to feel grateful and trust Him with our lives, then He will understand the times that we struggle. He always comes through for me in the long run. Even if I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Faith is not easy, there is a wrestling effect within this. It's okay
All 6 of my kids are sick now. Definitely not how I saw the beginning of this year going. I dont make hard core goals each year. I do choose a word of the year though. This years word is "intentional". I want to be more intentional in my relationship with Christ, my parenting, my relationship with my husband and in my housework.
It took me 29 years to read through my Bible also and I feel embarassed about it too. The sad thing though is most people havent read through it once so the fact that we have is still awesome no matter how long it took❤
If you achieved a personal goal for yourself, that's great! I haven't read the Bible through and I'm not one bit sad or embarrassed about it, because it has never been something I care to do.
@@ssh6414 If God created the earth and everything in it, he's everywhere, not just in the pages of an ancient text that's been the source of dispute and conjecture for generations.
@@ga6589 And if you want to know that He said, read the letter He left for you. Putting words in His mouth is you pretending to be God. You don't know Him.
I dont set resolutions either. I know I need to be more active and Im trying to better my diet. Ive even thought about for Lent this year is giving up looking at social media. I wouldnt count youtube as much, but I spend way too much time on Facebook and Instagram constantly checking them and getting drawn into a black hole. I want to try to fill that time with something more productive like Bible study, reading, just household cleaning activities - anything other than wasting time looking at a screen!
I ashamedly never read the Bible in a year, but this year I am. I also had a bad A1c ( diabetes) test so I have to exercise, no sugar and little carbs...ugh not fun...
@@jaynaburkholder1507 The garlic oil I use really stinks but it slows the cough down that they at least can sleep for a couple hours. I do that and then I put in a jar a slice of onion slice of lemon and a big tablespoon of honey and you just keep layering it like that and put it in a warm spot and give them a little bit of that juice every two hours and rub their feet down it literally kicks it the other way.
I've got a book recommendation for you Megan, since you mentioned feminism. It's called Eve in Exile by Rebekah Merkle. It's been really helpful for me in finding where I stand, because I don't believe women are supposed to be doormats without opinions, but I also don't believe we are the same as men and have the exact same calling as them. It's very educational, and also gives good answers. If you get a chance to read it, I hope it is helpful!
I don't believe that there's one exact "calling" meant exclusively for men or women. Personalities and preferences can vary a great deal and one can argue that God made us that way. I'm a senior citizen and just one of many things I have gleaned from feminism is that no one should be intimidated or pressured into following a certain path, strictly because of gender. We have many successful and talented women now working in government, the military, medicine, science, corporate America, etc. and I don't believe God disapproves or that those women don't have the temperament for it. If you are happy and fulfilled being a SAHM, do it. If you're a dad and want to stay at home and the mom has a satisfying career, go for it. If you don't want to have kids or even get married, that's fine, too. I've known quite a few women who were miserable because they were doing what others expected them to do.

You are definitely not alone and I can relate a lot to what you have said. I pray for health and healing in your family. You are a strong mama!💖🙏🙏
So sorry! That sounds miserable.
Also- after the twins were better.. our 3yr old got worse!! Double ear infection, high fever..
Yay for easy mac n cheese!
Welcome back ladies. You both looked so beautiful today. Really enjoyed listening with a cup of coffee. Take care and God bless y’all. 😀❤️
My kids are grown now, but my hack when they argued was this: They had to both sit on the sofa and neither could leave until the other one gave them permission. Sometimes they’d be there for a bit but they always came together in the end. It really worked well 😊
Honestly - varicose veins is all to do with valve incompetency inside your veins, which is very hereditary. You won't get it by crosssing your legs!
I am so sorry for your loss.
@@jaynaburkholder1507 thank you ❤️ and thank you for your honesty! It’s so refreshing how down to earth you are!
Yes that's what it's called! Sounds amazing
I’ve missed you ladies!❤ so glad you are back! Blessed New Year! Stay healthy ❤️🙏🏻
Love having Jaynas perspective
God cares, we should pray, and He will answer our prayers as is best for us. 🙏
So glad this series is back!!!
Yay, so glad you're back!! My hack is more of a life hack than a mom hack, but if you burn your finger, you can put it to your ear lobe and for some strange reason, it will suck up the heat and take the burn out. It sounds crazy, but try it next time you get a burn, it really works!!
What?!??! I want to try that sometime. Lol
I love this series! I’m a huge fan! So excited for the new year with you girls! God bless💖🙏💖🙏
Love these videos so much. Even though I am old now, I can relate to all of your conversations. Keep up the good work! Happy New Year!

Jayna if you call your library and have them change your "primary library" to Manheim Township, Hoopla will work through that 😊
Happy New Year to you both!! So good to see you together again and the conversation was great❤
Glad to see another one!!! Thank you! Happy New Year!
You both are so inspiring, thanks for sharing you're lives with us,Teresa in Mn Blessings to you both
The kid clothes no fold bin system is something I swear by… ahem, “affirm.” 😂 My sister struggles with her kid’s laundry and I’m like my 4 and 6 year old successfully put theirs away in 2 minutes.
So excited to see y’all back !!!! 🎉
No-fold method is NOT shameful! Our kids get their own laundry out of the basket each day after supper and put it away. Only church and 'going out' clothes get hung, and the younger ones have S hooks that they hang jeans and pants on so it's easy for them.
Yay, you're back!
I got the notification and am so excited to listen! I missed you guys
Yay!! You are both back on!! 🎉🎊
I’m 40 next month and always cross my legs - no spider veins!! And I’ve had a few kids 😅
My mom is 66 and doesn’t have them either; she always told me it’s genetic.
That's what I think! Genetics!
Lucky to you Lindsey. Some of us aren't so lucky in that territory. My legs look terrible but I can't change any of it unless I have thousands of dollars and vanity to correct them. I don't mind, it is the way my body is.
My doctor told me the same thing
@@sherrythirn1484 same here. I’m 36 and my legs are covered in varicose veins… definitely genetic!
One way that i pray for my kids, and husband, is when I fold their laundry...
I love you content! I’m a busy sahm and would like some 15-20 minute videos if possible because I don’t feel like I can spend 30 minutes per video.
Yay!!!!!! So excited you gals are back!!!
It's okay
I pray while I am doing my daily walk.
Happy new year girls ❤❤
@@ga6589 Your loss, and it is quite a loss, but if you want to know what God wants to say to you, that's where you find him.
These are always great
A lot of libraries have gone to Libby to borrow audio and ebooks. I really like my Libby app.
Do you have a link to the Instagram for a brighter winter ? I was not able to find it

I ashamedly never read the Bible in a year, but this year I am. I also had a bad A1c ( diabetes) test so I have to exercise, no sugar and little carbs...ugh not fun...
Yes it is...divine authentic Italian...love it...escarole soup is my favorite though. My grandma made it all the time
I’m wondering if the wearable clip on mics would be a good option. I see a lot of RUclipsrs use them.
Thats a good idea
Having a hard time hearing Megan, something isn't right with your system as jayna comes in much clearer then megan
Yes we are having that flu bug too. The best thing to slow coughing down is garlic oil
Didn't try that! I thought i had tried everything!
@@ga6589 If you want to know what God thinks you could read the Bible.
@@ssh6414 Whether or not the authors of the Bible were divinely inspired by God, or simply delusional, is a matter of opinion. I hold with the latter.
@@ga6589 extremely unwise to put it nicely to pass judgement on a book you refuse to read.
