LOVED this video! cinderella (2015) is my favorite film of all time. i love that you brought up her black hair ribbon. its so often overlooked. in a deleted scene its actually revealed that lady tremaine bought mourning gowns for her, anastasia, and drizella and only allowed ella the ribbon. until i'd seen that scene i analyzed it exactly as you had! with ella honoring her father without "proving" she was mourning him (because anyone who knew them would never have begun to think she didn't love him). i imagine she had to pluck it out of her collection of sewing supplies rather than it being purchased for her. it's yet another way that lady tremaine is trying to control ella. who would even dare try to tell anyone how to grieve their own father and here she is pretending to grieve a man she barely knew and clearly only used for his money. it's especially telling that the moment after she finds out he's dead, she's complaining that they won't have any money and then off camera using the last of it to order fancy mourning gowns. lovely video!!

I love this video, it's always so nice to hear about Cinderella's dresses, and the 2015 one is my most beloved.
