My parents never had the money to get me gifts except they always for me a doll from the dollar tree and I was always grateful because I know they didn’t have the money. Now I work and I have a 13 year old sister that gets bullied and is antisocial but gets good grades so I am always watching anything she wants and this Christmas I have been working and going to college and I know that my parents are having a hard time... So I bought everyone a bunch of gifts and my sister I spoiled her.. now My parents are worried they can’t get me anything but I honestly don’t want anything but to see the happy smiles on their faces.!

My daughters take turns, back and forth opening up their gifts. It’s nice because they get excited for each other and it last a little longer.
Then after they are done they help mommy & daddy open our gifts. And stockings go last for everyone.

Awesome picks, momma! These gifts all look so fun!! 🤗💕
Christmas morning, my brother and I would always wake up my parents super early (7am was the limit lol!). My parents would get ready and make us wait at the top of the steps. They would go downstairs and record our reaction from the top step to walking into the living room. The Christmas tree and presents in the living room was always the most magical sight as a kid!
We always took turns, one at a time, opening gifts and passing them to each other. I'm 22 now and this is still our tradition today!

We also did the same thing when I was a child I'm 30 now and I do it with my 2 kiddos my mom and stepdad will come over at 630/7 and watch my kiddos open their gifts and well have breakfast and then we go to church as a family and come home and then around 2 the entire family(aunts uncles cousins siblings nieces nephews cousins kids all come over and we then exchange gifts with eachother and have christmas dinner.

In my family we all took it in turns to open a present. Once everyone has opened something we all go again. It slows things down a little and everyone gets to see each other reactions to each gift and the little ones don’t just rip all the gifts open within the space of a few minutes flat.

The way we open our gifts is they get one gift everyday when they are off school, that way they have a new toy to play with. Then on Christmas day they get stockings and gifts from relatives. It makes the fun last for their entire Christmas holiday.

We let our kids open stockings at the same time, then take turns opening one gift each starting from youngest. It is great and I love teaching them to be excited for other people and to be patient about it being their turn. Plus it's just so cute seeing their faces for each gift and seeing them so excited for their siblings

I love everything! The kids are going to be so happy 😁Can’t wait to see them open their gifts! We usually do stockings first, then breakfast and then presents. Everyone takes a turn. We also like to play tricks on our kids like wrapping things in different boxes or a box within a box. Last year we did a treasure hunt for my youngest stepson and he had a blast. This year we’re not doing a huge Christmas for the little guy as he just had a birthday and got his much wished for piano - he will be getting some things to go along with it, some games for his Switch and an echo dot from us. The big guy is into sports and really wants a football jersey and some memorabilia 😁 Can’t wait to see the little ones gifts tomorrow!

I only have one kid right now lol a 2 year old, but when I was growing up my parents would hand us all a box and we would open them one at a time! Took a while cause there was 4 of us but it made it so much more fun to see everyone else open their gifts and to also make it last longer since it’s so anticipated but only happens once a year! There were some years that they gave us all a box and had us open them all at the same time but I definitely loved one at a time more! When I have more kids I’ll have them do it one at a time so I can take in their reactions to all the gifts and record them just for memories!

We let our kids go one at a time! they open sibling dirty Santa gifts on Christmas Eve and then a couple extra. They wake up to unwrapped Santa gifts. They usually wonder to their stockings so we do them when that happens. And then lastly we open the rest of the wrapped gifts one at a time. We have 7 kiddos and it’s also our first Christmas with our newest daughter that we just adopted a couple of months ago so this is a special one for us as well!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

growing up my mom would get the video camera out and record us while using the other hand to take pictures. My oldest brother would pass us our gifts and we would put them in our own pile. We got anywhere from 10-15 gifts each depending on the prices of them. We got one big price item each, I love looking back at these memories. Especially, because I remember my brothers getting mad cause it seemed like I got a lot more then they did, I guess it was because I was the only girl surrounded by 5 brothers. And when my mother was little her mother gave them one doll for Xmas that she had to share with her sister. So I think she kinda was trying to live the life she wanted through me. I know your kids are going to love the gifts you got them.

Congratulation on the newest adoptions 🥰 My girls love lols too! I also have 5 children and will be adding an addition in June! We let each child open one gift at a time and continue to rotate until they get down to their last few items then we let them open their remaining gifts one child at a time. That way we get to enjoy them opening their things and they get the excitement of going crazy and ripping their gifts open 🙂

We always do oldest to youngest, I am the youngest in my family haha, but when I was younger it made me more patient and grateful. We just sit on the couch, by the tree and fire, and then one at a time open the gifts up, not to fast though, so we have time to really appreciate and enjoy the gift. We also put a box behind the couch and put our gifts in them when we open them, so we don’t lose them or mix them up everywhere. I really like your channel! I subscribed. (:

In my family we all open stockings at the same time, (since it’s mostly candy) and then for gifts we do one at a time. We decide who gets to go first with a Christmas tradition game. The pickle! The parent hides the pickle the night of Christmas Eve and then whoever finds it first gets to go first! (You can find it Christmas morning or just on Christmas Eve!) the kid then gets to pick who goes second and stuff like that. (There’s only three of us that’s why!)

I've been following you for so long 😊 cant wait to foster/adopt hopefully by the time im 21/22. My little brother is like the only child because I am 20 lol so gifts dont matter to me. But he's always been really grateful because since my mom got sick with Crohn's disease she hasn't been able to work so christmas won't be big this year. But he gets tons of toys and playstation cards throughout the year so when christmas comes he's still happy for what he got. He's 9 now and he loves science toys and anything figurine collectibles. He def has a little old soul which i think is cute. But he knows Christmas is Jesus's birthday so gifts are not the only important thing. Love the gifts you got your kiddos 😊 cant wait to see their faces!

Growing up my mom always had us go straight in after she had her cup of coffee. Everyone at the same time. I always liked that but when I got with my husband his family does one at a time in no specific order and saves the biggest gifts for last and then they do the “Santa gift” unwrapped. We’ve adapted both where we give them a couple at a time and let them open at the same time so it’s not so chaotic and they can appreciate the gifts a little more and not rush through. And we do ornaments each year for each person it’s fun to add them to the Christmas tree from years before.

We play boardgames and every time you score a point on the game you can choose a gift, not knowing for who the gift is. It is a lot of fun, because you get to play games together and open gifts at the same time :-) although it may take a long time to open all the gifts with 7 people this way! Have a wonderful Christmas, your gifts are awesome and your kids are very lucky!

We always unwrapped one at a time. Everyone gets a gift to open once they have looked at it another one is given out. It was really important to have equal amounts of gifts, not necessarily the same value, just the same amount so everyone got one each round.

My family takes turns from youngest to oldest, because usually the youngest sibling is the most excited and can’t wait. This year might be different though due to some new circumstances...but that’s usually what we do.

I totally over do it every year. But Christmas is SO exciting for kids, and I enjoy giving gifts! I started in September. I have 3 step kids, who are over the age of 18. My own son is 18, and my 9 year old daughter. It’s hard not to spoil them, but it was hard for me to have kids, I have one child biologically. Before I had any children I was buying entire families Christmas presents. I work in a skilled nursing facility and I buy many residents gifts. It’s how I express love.

When we where younger we where given our presents and opened them as we went/given them. My husbands family do it differently... They give out all the gifts and than one person opens up all their gifts while you watch and wait for your turn. I liked our tradition better so that's what we do with our three children. Hand the gifts out and they can open them as they get them :) everyone is different but this is what works best for us.

@@ChristyGior8 Oh really? I never knew others did it differently until I met my husband haha. It was a mess when we did it as children as my parents had 6 kids. Toys everywhere, paper everywhere. I may actually try something new this year and give ome gift to each child and let them open it, soak in what they got before giving them all another gift.

I dont have kids of my own, but when we were kids (and still at my parents house) we each open one present at the same time and keep going like that. That way it doesn't take too long, but it lasts, and everyone gets to see what everyone got. For example, mom would get 1, dad would get 1, older sister would get one, I would get one, and little brother would get one and then we'd all open those at the same time. We kept doing that. If we got something the same, we'd open those st the same time. With my boyfriends family, it goes youngest to oldest and it takes forever. Everyone kind of gets burnt out. Maybe you could let them all choose one to open xmas eve and then they open the rest xmas morning, but save one or 2 for the evening of xmas day

One of the kids I nanny is super into American girl dolls too. She’s 12 now and still loves playing with them so I’m always looking for cute new doll stuff to buy her! :) I recently found some outfits for super cheap at homegoods and Ross usually has some too!! :)
And for the opening of presents on Christmas morning, you should check out The Ballinger Family’s old Christmas videos. They have a rule that I think is really awesome that nobody is allowed to pick their own present from under the tree. They can only pick a gift with someone else’s name on it, which I think is really great so the kids can experience the joy of giving instead of just receiving :)

At my house the little kids get up at 7am cuz that’s there limit and then wake up us older kids and then my mom and then we do our stocking and go wake up grandma then we go to the living room and take turns opening youngest to oldest and throw the adults in there some times and we do about half the gifts then do breakfast and then finish them (been doing this since I was little I’m guessing but I don’t remember Ik I have been doing this since my sister was born who is now 12 and I’m 19)

To make Christmas morning last a little longer we are starting a new tradition this year. On each present gift tag I put a number. Each kid has a baggie of corresponding numbers. We will start with the youngest he will pick a number out of his bag and find out present in his pile and open it. Then on to the next kid the same way so on and so forth. That way they're not all opening it once, or picking my biggest present and then not caring about the smaller gifts. This way I hope as other people are opening their gifts that they kids will be able to pay attention and kind of look at the gift they got while they're waiting for their next turn. Merry Christmas from our family to yours.
