- Mountfield RS100 kept stalling - would run for a few seconds and then stop. Watched a couple of RUclips videos showing how to service so gave it a go. Worked a treat but as you'll see DON'T REMOVE THE ORING/RUBBER WASHER FROM THE BOWL (see 10m 20s for explanation). This video is more of a reminder for me than anything else but others might find it useful.
The mower is about 10 years old and has never been services (or properly cleaned). In this video I change the Sparkplug, replace the air filter and clean the carburettor. To do it I bought a 21mm sparkplug socket set, replacement sparkplug and air filter and can of carb cleaner.
In the next video I'll be working out how to add fuel additive to prevent E10 damage,
Thanks to Mike's Mowers and Mower Man for their instructional videos.:

Had the exact same problem, followed your video and my RS100 is now running like new - thank you! Had watched some of the pro videos but it was yours that gave me the confidence to give it a go myself
That's great! And thanks for letting me know.
Great Video and don't forget only use SUPER UNLEADED in your mower as E10 Unleaded kills mowers 👍
Good tip, thanks David.
cheers mate going to give this a go tomorrow
Thanks for your video.I’m going to try and fix mine. What’s the air dryer you use to to clean the dirt build up and what type of carb cleaner.Cheers
Hi Simon. I used a cheap air duster amzn.to/3KYQSHl and STP carb cleaner. amzn.to/3KV6Ce9. I also use Briggs & Stratton Fuel Fit Additive/Stabiliser which is more important now that fuel is E10. amzn.to/3jWtttW. Mine's still running a treat. Good luck.
Thanks so much!
You can boil the seal to make it shrink
Good to know, thanks.
If only I had a time machine.... Suburbanite Gal... burn the lawnmower.... 🙄
