I recently renewed my interest in improving my penmanship by purchasing a fountain pen and a journal. What I gained is not only improved handwriting but inner peace and self-confidence.
It's so calming. Even if you write about your problems and fears and not just the good stuff or what you wish for. It's incredible how much you can write all of a sudden
In high school I used to charge money for notes from parents, doctors ect.... LOL....I never thought about this idea but I can forge most writing today.. One of the few males that can write and make it look good or bad as I wish... Love this idea
Wow, and here I am, trying to learn Spencerian, I actually downloaded a PDF of his Theory of the Spencerian Method which has been very helpful by the way...
I bought the books on Amazon. Totally worth if you put in the time and practice. I didn't realize how much goes into penmanship until I got those books. In school they just teach kids to follow the lines. However, they don't tell you how to properly hold the pen, how to sit when writing, when to put pressure on the pen to create the letter, the 45 degree angle etc. I have a much better understanding and appreciation for handwriting. The more I write the better I get. 😊
I write a lot with a Pilot Pluminix calligraphy pen, and I don't copy anyone or any style. I write freely and quickly with Seitz kreuznach Palm green ink in my own unique way. Everyone knows it's me then. It gives me great pleasure. The pen with an additional converter cost me £15. The beautiful green ink in a lovely 30ml bottle cost £6.50 including shipping. What fun you can have in your home.
It’s a shame that such a basic skill as being able to write legibly has all but disappeared. Most people I know can barely write their own name, they think I’m mad because I use a fountain pen whenever possible 😊
This seems really weird to me, I just don't get who this would be aimed at unless they want to get a hundred letters written: you can simply write it yourself and not have ti spend that money, it doesn't even take that long! Your own handwriting is very unique and personal, so why have someone else write that letter for you? I get that it's no longer a common thing to do in America, but I have been a big ‘fan’ of handwritten letters and messages for a very long time and a nice, elegant handwriting can get me excited even before I've read what the letter says. Your language and script are beautiful, English is the one language people speak all around the world for a reason (mainly because of the mighty army the UK used to have, but still). If you want to persuade someone into helping you out or giving you something (like a job, for example) a handwritten letter can significantly improve your chances at getting what you want. Half an hour of writing can make or break a carreer, it can really turn the odds in your favor.
Wout Van Dessel I think it's for people that want to send a handwritten letter but who's handwriting is illegible. I've been on the receiving end of an illegible note. They're not very useful.
Duh, its aim at encouraging people to write by hand instead of the computer as it's more personal. Just because YOU didn't find anything interesting in this video it doesn't mean others didn't get benefit from. The world doesn't revolve around you, you realise
Fascinating. Please make more of this kind of documentary!

more personal, more calming than pouring it on social media. Idk, people call it catharsis.
I LOVE HANDWRITING !!
This was great. I love to see people who are passionate about their craft.

I'm not even half as decent, but girls and old school professors love it.
That's a nice business. Reminds me of Her, the movie.
Goethe's handwriting was beautiful
Beautiful. Stunning!

Sir can you give the tips to handwriting
What a charming video
i wish they would not dub it, but simply subtitles.
Dubbing supplies a lot of employment for translators.

I'm sure if you wrote in English they would respond.
Franz Kafka was more Czech than Austrian writer.
But he wrote on german and said he likes german most
I wonder how people who use dip pens with ink reservoirs avoid blots.
What pen is she using for the Kafka handwriting?
hiring?
Miriam Sachs, interesting lady.
This is like I was taught 60+ years ago by the nuns

+Wout Van Dessel I appreciate their idea. Why not? Handwritten letter is thousand time better then email. And some people just want it perfect :)
