Tried it out on the Martin Dreadnaught and it holds tuning really well! We've no need to change during the song, but it's great to change frets so quickly :)
Great deal! Just be careful if it’s an imitation of the Glider it may use harder plastics that might damage your guitar. Fingers crossed for you...let me know how you get on 😉🎵 P.S the Schub is a great reliable capo too...I used one for many years
The back of the neck of my precious acoustic Stevens SJ-P (southern Jumbo Pallisander) doesn't have a (tri)angular shape. It is smoothly curved. I am afraid that the solid plastic rol that slides over the back of the neck wil cause two tracks because the radius of the rol is quite (tri)angular...It would be preferable if the shape the roll was less triangular and if it was made from a sturdy type of rubber.
Great playing! Is there a way to adjust the tension? I just got mine, and on my Taylor it seems like the pressure needs to be increased so that the strings don't buzz, esecialaly the higher strings. Any suggertions, anybody? And thanks in advance.
I have 10s on my electrics and it seems to make all the notes slightly sharp. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a way to lessen the tension so I can use it while performing with other musicians?
I test all pretension-ed capos on the first fret to make sure it has enough strength to eliminate fret buzz (especially open top E/F) on the fret board. I understand there are a lot of different sized necks, but I've yet to see a review that confirms this, anyone else have a link to said test?
I have personally not had any issues with this capo on the 1st fret. I have, however, only been using it on my Roadhouse Parlour. I will check and test on my other guitars and get back to you on the results. Thanks!
THE PROBLEM I SEE IS DEPENDING ON YOUR HAND AND NECK SIZE YOU MAY BUMP IT AND ROLL IT AWAY FROM THE FRET ITS BEHIND. I OCCASIONALLY BUMP MY KYSER CAPO WHEN I PLAY NEXT TO IT BUT THE WAY ITS MADE ITS NOT DESIGNED TO MOVE.
The soft rubber roller on the back of the neck prevents any damage. I have used mine constantly on my Parlour for the last few months and there isn’t a single mark 😊
I bought one. Mine doesnt work like advertised here. Hard to roll you can forget trying it with your thumb plus it will not rest on the nut like shows wont roll up on it way to small or tight . His rolls so easy here what you buy wont do what u see. Gz i bought 2. For me was very disappointing mine doesn’t do what his is doing feel like I got scammed or ripped off
What are the names of the songs you were playing brother.. i am a fingerstyle player myself and constantly looking for beautiful compositions to play.. can you provide the names of the songs you were playing if it isn't too much to ask
Hi Joseph, thanks for watching and commenting. The songs are original compositions. Only the first one has made it into a song - ‘Eva’ by Tomorrow Bird. The others are just little snippets I wrote for the purpose of demonstrating on this channel.
Thanks so much Joseph! I haven’t been able to post much here due to being so busy with my duo, but I’m hoping to do more this year. Glad to have you along for the journey 🎵
Is it wrong that it’s kind of freaking me out a little?! 😳 the way it moves makes it look like it’s a magic trick and/or haunted!! 😱👻 nice results though... Would be a handy edition to a gig bag.
I can manage up to two frets at a time, but if you had a larger hand you could possible manage a bit more. You wouldn’t be able to to go from 0 - 12 though as it is controlled via the roll of your thumb or palm
@@AverageReviewsFromAnAverageGuy Another way I've seen is to roll it using your forearm, although I don't thing you can do 12 frets at once.. What about pulling it by the attachment pins?
That’s a thought! I’ll give it a try...but I also doubt you could do all 12.... In fact, the Capo itself probably wouldn’t fit any higher than the 10th
@@AverageReviewsFromAnAverageGuy It could depend on the guitars too... How the neck tapers, how you adjust the capo, etc. My main thing is using it on an electric. I have a song I need 3 hands to play lol. It also switches back and forth... Quite a few times. :(
I bought mine for about £25 in the UK. There are cheaper versions out there that sell for about £3-£5 but these are bad imitations and should be avoided
@@AverageReviewsFromAnAverageGuy The cheap imitations are literally plastic. They are awful for the guitar and break easily. Anything that's 3 bucks and free shipping from China is most likely worthless.

Nice idea! Loving the idea of moving the capo mid-song to create easy key changes ;-)
And does it work well on a 12-string? Can you increase the tension of the springs? Or get a stronger set of springs for 12-strings?
Nice guitar color
Excellent & concise review - I'll give it a try. Also - very nice playing!
Thanks! Let me know how you get on 😉🎵
I use a Schub capo usually, but I just ordered one of these on eBay for £4.61 post free! 😳

One issue on my strat, I rolled it past my nut, ouch, and it went out of tune. I’ll try lubing the nut and try again.

THE ROLLER IS IS NOT PLASTIC ITS RUBBER.
You might be right. I'm using it now and then but it is a very hard type of rubber. I would prefer a softer type, though not too soft.

Great capo but I liked your playing even more.
Thanks so much!!

would it work on electrics, or is it designed for flat acoustic fingerboards?
It should work fine on electric too. Here’s a pretty sweet video of it in action - ruclips.net/video/ef4PAg7Enfk/видео.html

Why does this guy remind me of Jason Statham?.........I half expected him to use the capo to kill a half dozen or so people......
Interesting concept, but I'd rather listen to you just play.
Ha, thanks! I was fascinated by the idea...I have used it a few times, but I tend to stick with normal capos most of the time now.
