Salah only looks faster than Aubameyang because he has small legs. Tall people never look as fast as they are because they take long strides - which helps you cover to more distance in fewer strides.

@@dunsonhouse Also it is perspective, if they play against a slower defender they look faster in comparison, but some defenders are really fast to so you can't just overrun them as easy.

It's one thing to just run as fast as you can. It's a completely different thing to run as fast you can while having control over the ball.
These guys are faster with the ball than their opponents are without.

Everybody that s played for a while knows it s easier to run with the ball and you ran faster and easier than the one chasing you. IF you have the necessary skills to keep the ball under control.

Topspeed in football isn’t that important. Acceleration and speed while dribbling is way more important. The spaces are often to tight to use topspeed. If you play on the counter with lots of space its usefull, but in this era of football you won’t get that space on the highest level.

@@asgerjakobsen6324 He is to tall compared to how big he is a too easy target. He is quite skinny for a NFL player compared to his height I think he only weighs 88 kg and is 193 cm or something like that. He would probably need 13 kg extra to be a good receiver at that height

That's why guys like Messi and Salah are most successful in driving cause they don't have to slow down (or at least the minimal amount most of the time) when WITH the ball
Heck you can clearly see Salah handled the ball PERFECTLY (2:15) while running near top speed whilst the others (most of the time) had to give themselves a super big forward pass in order to run through defenders
And yeah Mbappe also is good, not quite as Salah but obviously better than the most in the list, you can see his ball run at 9:00 but that one was mostly open and uncontested tbh

Top speed is nice but without ball control it's almost nothing. That's why Salah is the most effective one of them, and similar to Messi can run WITH the ball between defenders
