If not your preferred action why do it JB weld is a bloody shocking fix. If you feel it's not worth fixing move it on, and someone can make a project of it
I had thought of that, or braze a patch over the top, both of which would have meant stripping the loco down to get the cylinder off, which I was prepared to do if this didn’t work.
That looked like a lucky save from a nightmare situation 😯
We’ll see how it goes, but fingers crossed, could save a lot of work.
@@TomsWorkshop42 was it a casting flaw that caused it?
@@julias-shed hard to know, as my friend bought it like this. There were fragments of casting behind the cleading so may have been an issue.

i mean the only permanent fix i see it to silver solder that chunk he found in the cladding back into the hole.
