Where is this track? I want to move to a place that has drag racing like this..Seriously!.. Someone let me know the different locations....the towns, cities.. Thanks!..
I dont get it, am i missing something? Dragsters and blown coups only doing 11.50's ? And all these others are 13's and slower? Cool looking cars but seriously slow..
These don't have all the 'new' tech stuff going on...I would guess the rules here is...just like they were in, say, '64, etc... making it FAR MORE AFFORDABLE...than today's high tech racrers...Also, I noticed at least one...missed a gear...which tells me ...all manual shifting!...Love it!..
When I started driving in the 70s the average street racer would run 14s, a 12 second street car was considered great, 8s-10s are what the funny cars and rails ran, that's the technology these guys are running, things have come a long way since then.
I'm with you on these E.T.s this isn't old footage from the 60's. In the early 80's I was bracket racing with a 67 Chevelle, 427 M22 and a V-Gate shifter, remember those, those shifters were a blast. Anyway, after eventually bulletproofing everything from the transmission to the rear lug studs it would run 11.70's on street tires. It had 4:56 gears, brutal R.P.M. going though the lights, like 6800, somehow it stayed together.
Man I love gassers....true grass roots stuff
Brings me back to the late 50s early 60s when my grandfather would take me to the drag races so cool

There's drag strips like these all across the country, the one near me is called Maple Grove Raceway, it's about 1.5 hours west of Philly.
Byron, Illinois. Near Rockford Illinois. Nice track , people, and cars
Jimmy Collins?
Hate to say this but My 62 Plymouth 361 automatic was faster than most of these Gassers.14 & 15 second ET's.
Nah, slo, most don't sound healthy, I dislike being negative but kinda over these
Wow, these are trailer queens. 14-15 seconds is pathetic. Nice cars though.

Glad I didn't pay to watch that.
