Everything is hard to play on the violin!
kinda true! :)
Except 4'33" by John Cage :P

Violin is hard to play
Solution:learn piano
@@mmarci4638 still hard to play. Daniel trifnov sweat while playing it
What people think is hard on the violin: plays the easiest part of the piece
That is the whole point...
woooosh
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation but your comparing the 2 pieces. In this case you played the easiest part of Paganini's caprice no. 24 but played the hardest part of Bach...
@@D54375 He didn't say what pieces were hard, he's showing what parts were hard ffs
Bach ❤
Me being a guitarist I respect violin players cause I tried to play one and i played “extinguish my big star” (twinkle twinkle little star)
As a hobby guitarist I admire guitarists right hand. I never learned finger picking, just with plec
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation finger picking is a bit difficult but most people like violinists start with fingers (pizzicato and finger style)
Lmao
Paganini: That's not fair. You didn't even get to the variations.
Paganini can take it. Noone really thinks that Paganini is easy here!
Can we just agree everything is hard on the violin 😭
kinda true! Playing an easy melody can be very hard as well.
I just started learning the violin and everything is extremely difficult😫
You’ll get there! I started in 5th grade and I’m in 8th now. Next year I’ll be trying out for a youth orchestra.
it doesn’t get easier 🥰🥰
@@gabbyr2750 you can do it if you practice hars
Remember you can always switch to the viola :)
@@tomasitto299 you’ll regret it like me
One person can play double stops and
The other person can play the single part of that piece
would probably even sound better! :)
They both sound great!
What's the piece from Bach?
He's playing fuga from sonata no.2
Thanks a lot for the info and example man!
Thank you for commenting :)
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation your little snippet taught me a lot! Slow and steady wins the race my friend. Wishing you the best.
I've been playing for 6 years and paganini is my favorite
Paganini is nice, but it get's boring to perfect it, because it takes so much time and is kind of repetetive. But playing it now and then is fun and experiencing progress with his techniques too :)
Der Erlkonig: Am I a joke to you?
It's the changing of the hand on the neck for string change
yes, the quick chord successions are hard to get right!
What people think is hardto play on the violin: pagininiana caprice 24
Whats ACTUALLY hard on the violin: the wood
Good one! :D
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation thank you! Keep up the good work!
Man cmon I just started learning caprice 24
Don’t do me like that 😭😭😭
What is the name of the second piece? By the way your playing sounds heavenly
Bwv 1003 fuga
The king of harmony ✋🏽🤚🏽
It’s the end part that people think is hard of the first piece
The middle too! The Bach Fugue also has harder parts than the beginning though
It’s almost the whole piece that’s difficult 😂
I absolutely agree
The finale caprice is one of the hardest pieces ever created, yet you are playing the easy part of the song
The next prase was the challenging part. Also the bowing could de distribute differently of you want to make it really hard
In Bach the next phrase is beautiful, but not hard. The one after that is hard! In Paganini, of course the variations are work!
They’re both pretty much equally hard, just in way different ways. Like, with virtuosic violin playing, u have flashy shit like Paganini and wieniawski, then u have more melodic and musical ways like the Bach sonatas and partitas
I agree
He : play the easy part of the cap 24 :
The other variations and finale :boi am sure they re not ready
and?
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation no i write this as a joke dont take it serious
@@yeallow910 No problem. It is just a generic comment under this video and I just find it funny at this point. No violinist has a bach fugue or a paganini caprice ready at all times, that should be clear..
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation Yes , I agree with you
2nd one def I play violin
I imagine it's the double-stops on the Bach piece.
I don't think anyone may think the first peace to be harder as the second 😆
Try playing Bach and Paganini together and see if it is hard
Bach!!!!
Try Baroque violins, the song is composed still by Paganini
Actually sounds way harder than that easy part of pag 24
Esta tan mecanizada tu mano 👏
Both are hard
Bro forgot about the pizzicato
Can you play paganini caprice 5
I am pretty bad with fast things, I would have to practice it a LOT! Maybe some day I get the time for it, but there is so much more fulfilling music out there that I want to play...
Paganini is the better virtuoso, but bach is a whole new level for violin, bach said he paid for the whole violin hes going to use the whole violin
Absolutely! The music of Bach is more a testament to our musical language. Paganini is more a testament of what is possible with the instrument no matter what...
I did not even know you can play chords on a violin… 😱
Oh yes! It is the best, but hard to master. You need to constantly practice those!
What is actually hard on the violín: the other 146 compasses of the caprice 24
I can play most anything on the air violin … seriously though Bach is IMHO the most amazing composer who has ever lived
Facts!
Nah Paganini is better
Yes man pag 24 easiest piece in the world man
this man said caprice 24 is easy and didn't even play any of the variations lmao
I didn't say that I think it is easy, but that people think it is hard. Bach is often underestimated in sheer difficulty ;)
@@ares6186 wouldn't make sense for this video, because some variations are hard af...
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducationSo you should have chosen a different piece XD
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducationWell Pag 24 is hard, the people are thinking correctly
U just played the easiest part in the caprice No 24 it s officially the hardest violin piece in the world
First part of your comment is true. The second part isn't. The 24th caprice doesn't even compare to Ernst "Last rose of summer" for example. Even Paganini wrote more difficult pieces. Only the 24th is damn popular.
Chaconne is harder.
For me, it is extremely difficult to phrase it properly and the technique required is also high. Personally I consider it harder than Caprice N.24, which you only need the notes and not many emotions.
THERE ARE SO MANY MORE HARDER PIECES THAN THE TWENTY FOURTH CAPRICE IN TERMS OF VIRTUOSITY...also ranking the hardest piece for the violin is like picking the best composer of all time, coz you have to look at different aspects like musicality, how important intonation is, the style of music, and even the virtuosity and how many techniques there are in this piece so yeah
The 23 (labyrinth) is the hardest one !
Bro, play The Last Rose of the Summer, then u can comment
As a violinist Paganini is harder
What piece of Bach is it ?
Bach violin sonata 2
2nd movement
Hey what's the name of that bach piece? Nice video by the way
Bach: Violin Sonata No. 2 in A Minor, BWV 1003: II. Fuga

This?
I mean later in Paganini it gets pretty dang crazy
Trust me, I know :)
Bach will always be far more complex
Play the variations of the caprice or pieces like “Nel cor più non mi sento”, oh wait, you can’t!!!!!
some variations are rather easy and I can play them "Nel cor piu non mi sento" noone can play without ever having to practice it. So wow, good analysis!
The notes sound in tune but the instrument sounds… dampened… was the microphone just not really picking up anything other than pure tone?
I started playing with Bach’s music on my first few months
Yeah i played paganini concerto before buying a violin... No one believes you
@@iboyzzz1576they might be talking about his easier pieces like minut in G.
@@ozichi._. it takes at least one year if you want to play it well
Play the 1 caprice if it is that easy
I never met anyone who thinks the intro to paganini's 24th caprice is hard. Nice playing though.
The hardest thing on the violin not playing with a shoulder rest
Everything on violin is hard... especially most if not all of Paganini's Caprices because the whole point of a caprice is to show off the performer's skill.
Show off, but also good practice material!
For me as a member of the woodwind family it’s reversed how funny different instruments are
Obviously Paganini is not easy, but Bach is technically overlooked. Different technique though!
I'm also a violinist and I can say Paganini is very difficult, Capriccio 24 has some variations that are hard af, but Paganini actually composed harder pieces. Bach is from the Baroque period=polyphonic
Paganini is polyphonic too. Even in the 24th caprice there is a chord variation, but the rhythm and the polyphonic element is muchsimpler than in Bach's music for violin.
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation wait where in pag 24 is there polyphony
Chiaconnaaaa is HARD (somes partes)
I can hear those two string chords on the second, so I see what you mean
many 3-4 string chords in that piece and also in succesion. Very hard!
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation 4 string chords on the violin? Sounds brutal
Intonation
Paganini (especially the “happier” ones… EHEM God save the king EHEM) is more difficult technically… but for example, Bach’s Chaconne is just a monster to perform because of how difficult it is musically speaking (and it’s not technically easy either).
Did u play the whole piece
I didn't play it in a performance, but I practiced the whole thing on and off over the years. Some variations are just really hard to nail!
Your playing is so clean I can’t stop watching
What size did niccolo Paganini use?
Size of violin? 4/4 I think :)
👏👏👏👏👏👏
What was the first piece?
Caprice 24
When you realise that caprice 24 is not even the hardest caprice 💀💀💀
Finally, someone said it
Now play the staccato left hand pizz on paganini 24
Bach is still harder
What is the second piece name sir :3
Kinda unfair playing just the theme of the 24th caprice and then whipping out arguably the 3rd hardest movement in all of the sonatas and partitas, but brilliant playing on both excerpts!! Have you played the full fugue? I’d love to hear your interpretation.
Thank you and yes, you are right. I could have argued the other way around if I had taken a different place. I never played the fugue in total sadly. Always when I start learning it I get some other important things to play. It really needs time and dedication. But the a-minor fugue is very high on my bucket list!
you gotta play the whole caprice it gets infinitely harder
Facts, I started learning how to play runs on the violin I have almost 2yrs of violin experience. And guess what? Bach is what I've been learning in the beginning Paganini is what I'm heading towards
I can't never move my fingers eight on the cord
try to practice placing the left hand fingers before preparing the bow for the next chord. It helps a lot!
What's the name of the second melody?
sorry for the late reply but its the fugue from bach's 2nd violin sonata
Bach has a lot of chords. The fugal style is dinamically difficult as well
Stupid question as a piano playing enjoyer:
What do you mean Caprice 24 ain't that hard!?
The theme isn't ;)
I might be wrong but i feel like the flexing parts are easier bc ppl are more likely get impressed and the fancy technique kinda cover up my mistakes. But the "easy" parts are actually hard bc my mistakes have nowhere to hide: wrong tone quality, wrong contact point, not enough connectedness, uneven up&down bow and unwanted accents, off intonation... ofc, not saying these are not important for a showoff piece but flaws like these don't stand out that much. Pagnini, Sarasate's are truly virtuosic but Bach has been my forever nightmare...
don't get me wrong. Bach is great. Just so hard to play, endless details to practice
Absolutely correct what you say! Great comment. I only would argue that Bach also gives the player more back. And the endless possibilities to learn more about performing these works even make them more attractive to me rather than they annoy me. Bach can also be played very simple and raw. Maybe you could switch up your approach in that direction and as a result enjoy the music more. Keep it up!
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation Thank you!!! Yes thats so true Bach's music lines really provide a lot of space. I enjoyed listening to my teacher broke down the music for me (yelling part not included) Would be my next level of practice in far future tho haha
Name of the Bach song ?
Honestly I think I can confidently say that caprice 24 is harder than the fugue but still both are really hard
It depends really! The 24th caprice has elements like decimes and left hand pizz which are rarely used in regular life as a musician, so everyone finds that hard. But if you train that a couple of weeks, it becomes manageable. A good Bach Fugue is something I raraly hear, they are long and have many aspects to get wrong. Intonation, steady tempo, good sound and musical decisions.
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation True! Honestly as i said theyre both really hard and from different aspects
Paganini: Haha! Thats nice men! Now, what if you see my caprice No.23 and the campanella, it will make you move your fingers a bit :))
Signed: Niccolò Paganini.
woah was it really 2 different notes played at the same time?
What he doesn't show is with paganini you play two notes while your other finger plays a third note or you play 3 notes while plucking a 4th or do everything simultaneously.
Jeez, Bach is hard on any instrument my dear:)
true, the polyphony demands a high level of independence of the melodies.
ok show me the caprice pizz
What was the first song?
Caprice no 24
I have question
Can anyone who is expert in violin
Help?
I can see it from his facial expression :))))))))
What is the second called?
Bach fugue from sonata 2
Paganini is much harder
I played bach when I was 10 .

Well yes it is both hard as violin is the hardest instrument in the world to play it’s more of a blessing from god when you get it right. The hard bit is just your challenge 😊🎻💖🎻

Dude your just playing the easiest part on caprice.24
I know :)
This looks terrifying as fehk
The Paganini. It’s only that variation. Visiting the other ones makes Bach seem “easy” tho nothing is completely easy
Both are difficult however you played possibly the easiest piece from Paganinis 24 caprices
ok but like, you can’t really compare the first few measures of the pag 24 to this piece.. it progressively gets more difficult. The whole point of a caprice is that it progressively gets ridiculously hard. Unfair comparison imo
1 variation is ease
Play all 24 caprices
prueba el capricho 5 de paganini a ver si te parece facil
