Awesome, glad yall checked out this live version! It is a compilation of 2 concerts this year.
You should check out some of their older stuff:
*Road of Resistance (Official live video):*
8 years ago, 17-year old lead Su-metal and 15-year old Moametal and Yuimetal lead 20K sold out crowd for a wall of death and giant circle pits.
Yui has left the band due to health in 2018, and Momometal supported Babymetal since 2019, and became official 3rd just this year in April. The first take video was shot before Momo was official, that’s why that video was just Su and Moa.
    Look forward to more!

P.S., noticed the Evanescence shirt. You should check out Su-metal’s solo, *Rondo of Nightmare (Live, Budokan 2014).* She reminded me a bit of Amy Lee in this song. Also, the Kami Band East shows off their insane skills.

Great reaction again. Their names are Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal, the lead vocalist ... and it has been a long time since anybody noticed her ears - she was always very proud of her ears), Moa Kikuchi (Moametal) and Momoko Okazani (Momometal).
This video used clips from the BABYMETAL Returns concerts at Makuhari Messe last January (I think because they had split the arena down the middle with a long runway and moving stages they cut the capacity to about 15,000) and the BABYMETAL Begins concerts at the PIA MM Arena in Yokohama at the start of April. That is a smaller arena with a capacity of 10,000 to maybe 15,000 at most (I think).
They play - and sell out - more modest venues when they tour the world (anything between 1500 to maybe 9000 capacity), but they can fill whatever arena they play in Japan ... the biggest so far being the Tokyo Dome (capacity 55,000) and they sold that out two nights running in 2016.
You missed their most recent US tour - about 29-30 dates co-headlining with Dethklok - in September-October. They played about 20 more dates on their own headline tour in November - December all round Europe.
They have announced some festival appearances for next year, but nothing beats seeing them in their own headline shows.
I'm sure you got enough recommendations for more songs to react to in your previous video, we can add to them whenever you want.

As Grinton300 mentioned, Su-Metal has the big ears and is the one with the main mic. She also has the ponytail. Moametal is the one with the pigtails and the dimples when she smiles. Momometal is the newest official member, so in some of the videos you'll see her with pigtails (when she has the pigtails like Moametal, she was officially taken in as part of Babymetal), and sometimes she'll just have her hair down, so no pigtails, nor any ponytail. Also she'll have little buns where she would have had pigtails. At this point she was called an avenger. There were 2 other avengers that would rotate with Momo. Before the Avengers came into the scene there was actually 1 other Babymetal member, but she had to leave due to health reasons. Her name was Yuimetal. She'll be the one with the Chubby baby cheeks. She'll NORMALLY be on Su-Metal's left and Moa will be on Su's right when you are looking at them face on. Anyhow, great reactions. I enjoyed that. As mentioned by somebody else, only request is if you could raise the volume that we hear on our end of the music as it is super quiet. It's almost like whispering quiet lol

  • @road-runner

    Good one, thanks!
They do mosh in Japan indeed. BABYMETAL's ones are called mosh'sh pits and tend to be more friendly. Although I know two people who ended up in the hospital after the Makuhari 2023 show (BABYMETAL Returns). There are two shows and two venues in this compilation video: Makuhari Messe and PIA Arena MM.
Makuhari Messe convention center in that configuration (two modules for the live performance) has a capacity for 20.000-25.000 people (they built the stage in the middle of the venue, so it's hard to determine the exact capacity).
PIA Arena MM has a capacity of around 10.000-12.000 seats plus the standing area.
It's forbidden to take photos or video during BABYMETAL shows in Japan. So all the people had their phones in the pocket before Su-metal asked to take them out. 😁
    🤘🦊

Great reaction. Love multiple reactors interacting. Excellent vibes from all you. FYI: The huge stage productions like this are generally held in Japan. I say generally because I recently saw a fan vid of a concert BM gave at the LA Forum-which may be the largest indoor stadium in America. From what I could see BM put on another of their BIG productions for that show. Generally when touring they will be playing smaller venues, with the exception of some outdoor festivals which again can have huge crowds. Really nice hearing the appreciation for Babymetal here. You've got my sub 'cause I'll be looking forward to more reactions.

This was a compilation of two concerts, the full version is on RUclips. If a video doesn't list the concert in the title, you need to check the description. It's an unfortunate reality on RUclips as some channels upload compilations when RUclips is blocking the concerts, but when the green light is granted, they have so many view counts they just sit at the top of search. The channels also have no interest in pulling them because they have a high view count.
I gave you a playlist of actual fill live performances and recommendations on your last video.

Seeing that you like this kind of music and are into k-pop, please try "Dreamcatcher"? A seven member Korean girl group. They are a bit different than the "regular" k-pop groups. They always incorporate some rock and even metal elements in their title tracks. But don't expect them to go heavy like Babymetal. You can see that when you listen to their b-sides. They have a lot of influences: Jazz, Reggae, EDM, Funk.
And while you're at it why not have a look at Korean all-female rock-band "Rolling Quartz" with their song "Fearless".

I just noticed that I forgot to give at least one recommendation for Dreamcatcher. 😀 I think a good start (even though it's a more recent release) is Bonvoyage. It's a good representaion of their mix of k-pop and rock.

They played at the Warfield in SF in 2019 with Avatar as the opening act. They opened for Korn at the Shoreline Amphitheater in 2017 and they performed in 2016 at the Regency Ballroom in SF. The truly spectacular shows are mostly in Japan. They did do a big show at the LA Forum in 2019. They've also appeared at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento in 2023. The latest US tour was a co-headliner tour with Dethklok as the BabyKlok tour. They alternated which act went first.

I was at both the concerts that this video was filmed at. The first shows took place in January at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, with a crowd of 15,000 each night over two nights. The second set were in April at PIA Arena MM in Yokohama, which had a crowd of 10,000 each night. Due to the small capacity, the shows at PIA were very hard to get tickets to and there were only about 50 international fans there.
I can assure you that there was a huge amount of moshing going on at both shows. The Makuhari show had the biggest wall of death I have ever seen and some of the biggest mosh pits.
There were several drones flying around in the area filming during both shows. The drones were piloted by a drone racing champion from Japan.
At Babymetal shows in Japan, there is a no photography rule that is pretty strictly enforced. When Su-metal told us to pull our phones out the first time, we were all very confused because the venue rules said not to, but what the Queen wants, the Queen gets.
The lead vocalist in the middle is Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto), the one on the right is Moametal (Moa Kikuchi), and the one of the left is Momometal (Momoko Okazaki). Su-metal and Moametal have been Babymetal since 2010, when they were just kids, but Momometal only officially became a member of Babymetal in April at the shows where this was filmed, however, she has been a backup dancer for them for several years prior to officially joining the group.
The masked musicians that play with them are called the Kami Band (God/Spirit Band). There are 2 different Kami bands, a Japanese one, and an American one. At the shows in Janurary, it was the Japanese Kami band, made up of Takayoshi Ohmura (guitars), Isao Fujita (guitars), BOH (bass), and Hideki Aoyama (drums), while the April shows were the American Kami band, made up of Chris Kelly (guitars), CJ Masciantonio (guitars), Clint Tustin (bass), and Anthony Barone (drums).
Babymetal only recently finished their US tour, which they co-headlined with Dethklok. They have already announced a couple of festival appearances for 2024, so it's possible they will announce more shows in the US soon, so keep your eyes out for them.

    👍 👍
    Questions?
abyMetal began 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents.
Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result.
At first Amuse showed little interest and the girls had financing mainly from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia).
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine.
They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start.

Road of Resistance LIVE in Japan
Yui Mizuno left BabyMetal in 2018 due to health reasons and at their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019 after Yui's departure) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again.

One thing I don't particularly like about having too many people react at the same time is that everyone tends to have something to say, meaning there's always someone talking and diverting attention of the others during what they're looking at. Not an attack but a small bit of constructive criticism, I just hope you keep that in mind for future reactions, great one by the way!
