It's like they don't understand why their explanation isn't working, so they explain more, and more emphatically, and then with tears. People really don't "THINK!" when they address judges, the defendant's verbal tones were totally inappropriate and condescending, it's just disrespectful and rude of her. Her bitchy attitude is what deserves jail, than crying after the judge says warrant, getting her life together is joining AA and/or alcohol treatment.
I agree. The word “trash” keeps coming to mind. People like her can’t accept responsibility. If a cache of drugs were hidden in a plant, she’d say she took them for safe keeping. I use to think that people like her spoke like her for lack of an education up, but they speak as they do because they have no respect for themselves or anyone else. I'm under the impression that the remote court appearances are making things worse. If someone is in a hotel room, or in their own home, etc., they have an unconscious cue that it isn't a formal meeting, where they need to defer to the judge and to the judicial process. It's like my own work, where I used to be able to do some of it from home but the rest needed to be in the office. It was a lot easier to focus, to keep an "I'm doing work" mindset, when I was cued by being in my work environment.
I just found this channel and love it. I've been following Judge Middleton for months,as court proceedings intrest me. Anyway keep up the great content Mike. Ps,Ms.Osmyck is currently locked up. Lol
Trainwreck waiting to happen. I feel empathy for her. I had sobriety issues and have been clean an sober since 1981 one of the important things about treatment is being responsible for your actions. I've not seen Judge Middleton get angry like this before.
@@LawTalkWithMike when I was active duty I had to deal with people with sobriety issues. I would tell them up front what my expectations were and my trigger was if someone got themselves impaired and drove I would do my absolute best to make their lives as miserable as I possibly could. In the 18 years that I was Senior enlisted I only had 2 individuals who took me up on that. I did exactly what I had told them I would. I lost a family member to a drunk driver and my tolerance for that behavior was zero and I told my people that.
Never heard a defendant begging for mercy when they've spent several months stacking up charges and finally realize it's time to find out what the prize is behind door #1.
Nothing beats Deborah's eye roll, just looking at John makes me hear "The Good, the Bad, and thy Ugly". These charges were a "fluke"? Maybe she's referring to the fish.
I keep hearing how many people are "turning their lives around" when they're either facing jail-time, or their next-of-kin has to do the talking because the people in question are now six feet under after getting into gunfights with police officers.
To be fair, I've seen this a lot -- people *say* "I'm trying to turn my life around", and in many cases I have no doubt that they mean it, that they really are fed up with this place that their prior choices have landed them in. The trouble is that they say "turn my life around" and then they expect that they can make their lives corner like a Lotus and put them on the right road quick so it'll all be in the rear view next month. It doesn't work like that; that previous life has a lot of inertia. There's a lot to undo and unlearn; there are habits to break; the siren song of the familiar and known keeps ringing in their ears. If there are legal processes involved, those processes have to play out -- after all, you may be working hard and genuinely to turn your life around, but the charges arising from what you did before you made that decision aren't usually going to evaporate (unless maybe if you're a first-timer and you can get deferred adjudication or whatever similar route is available for first-time low-level offenders). All this means that a life corners more like a Peterbilt than a Lotus. Even the most sincere, committed people can get frustrated by this unreasonable expectation -- and frustration equals stress, and people who've had a habit of dealing with stress with substances, for example, tend to fall back into their tried-and-seemingly-true. Turning your life in a new direction is a much more extended process, demanding hard work and commitment, than most people who realize a need to do it understand at first. Frustration that this grand large-scale life-change doesn't come as quickly and painlessly as the person would like ... it's poor, maladaptive thinking, yes, but of a different kind than insincerity.
@@moosecat Yes, exactly. You cannot turn your life around without facing and fully engaging the consequences of how you lived before. That's an integral part of the process and cannot be skipped or sloughed off.
The dynamic duo……my 2 favorite channels and attorneys. Enjoy Judge Middleton anytime. I started following him when he first started recording his cases and was immediately hooked. I enjoy your reaction videos so much better than just watching it first.♥️
If you can’t show shelf control to the judge (which is a clear signal of an addict) how can you expect a judge to think you are trying to get your life together. I have been sober for the last 11 years without a single relapse (from meth) when I did get my life together I learned self control and most of all respect for others. She deserves to be locked up, I did not see any evidence from her that she has learned or has any remorse for any crimes she has been accused of.
Oh those alligator tears, gotta love them. I have no respect for these folks who commit crimes and then blame the cops or the "system" for getting them in trouble. I would have some sympathy for her if she showed just the tiniest bit of respect for what the judge and the breaks he was giving her.
Good, lord these defendants are lucky to have a judge like him. He’s literally the sweetest judge in the world. Like a nice grand pop that keeps the neighborhood kids in line.
She is so disrespectful. Wrong guy to fool with. Has an excuse for EVERYTHING. BAD EXCUSES. Doesnt call her lawyer til the day of court. Clearly thinks this will just go away if she ignores it or cries
“Want to get my life together.” Oh, my. How many times do judges hear that? A day late and on Zoom when she’s supposed to be in person. She gets on the phone & straightens out her bench warrant? How does that work? Not to mention pot, meth, the dog…etc. She needs to stop interrupting!!
Yes, she needs consequences. "Depend upon it, sir, when a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully." She needs to focus.
“I’m trying to get my life together” Judge: “well I feel that is appropriate at this time” 😂 I nearly spat my coffee out You summed it up perfectly Mike - king of understatements
I really like this judge. I love to hear your explanations they are a help in understanding what is going on I'd also like to say I appreciate how you pause the court to make your comments
I was watching that stream when it happened and I was rolling laughing when I noticed Nixson just chilling down there in the feed watching the whole thing go down.
You’re right on this one Mike the judge hasn’t made his mind up yet on the sentence. There are procedures they go through like the background check by probation and a rating and statements.
I love judge Middleton!!!! Thank you Mike for your entertaining and very educational content. Plus your dogs Frankie and Ollie are so 🥰 adorable. Thank you so much. 🤓-Elya D.
This lady has functioned like this her entire life. She has never taken any personal accountability for her life, nothing is ever her fault, someone is always "doing" something to her, and she got used to being defensive and interrupting to get her way. She does as much half-ass efforts as she can, but then says she "tried", and always pulls the "I got my times mixed up" as her default excuse when her choices come back to haunt her. Clearly all that has worked for her throughout her life, and now that it isn't, she doesn't know what to do. Apparently, it is all the fault of an Applebee's Manager though, not that she continues to break the law, doesn't appear in court, and can't stop using substances.

Trainwreck waiting to happen. I feel empathy for her. I had sobriety issues and have been clean an sober since 1981 one of the important things about treatment is being responsible for your actions. I've not seen Judge Middleton get angry like this before.
I would have been so much worse.
👍
Never heard a defendant begging for mercy when they've spent several months stacking up charges and finally realize it's time to find out what the prize is behind door #1.
Nothing beats Deborah's eye roll, just looking at John makes me hear "The Good, the Bad, and thy Ugly". These charges were a "fluke"? Maybe she's referring to the fish.
😂
i kept looking for the form cuts to Tuco and Angel Eyes
😂
Some people don't know to keep their mouth shut.
I keep hearing how many people are "turning their lives around" when they're either facing jail-time, or their next-of-kin has to do the talking because the people in question are now six feet under after getting into gunfights with police officers.
The issue is, they turn them around in a 360 degree fashion lol.
@@Tindometari Part of turning one's life around is facing the consequences of one's actions, so they start with a proverbial clean slate.
@@moosecat Yes, exactly. You cannot turn your life around without facing and fully engaging the consequences of how you lived before. That's an integral part of the process and cannot be skipped or sloughed off.
Mike, I love these Zoom call videos because with the way you put your video window on the left, it makes it look like you're part of the call, too.
Frankie & Ollie are officially adorable! 🐶🐾🐶🐾🥰
Oh, I think we need a LTWM party bus road trip to Centreville. Would starting a wave in the courtroom be bad form?
That would be awesome 🤩 A bunch of law abiding citizens storm the courthouse because we like the judge and prosecutor 😂
@@LawTalkWithMike Oh, I'm picturing EPL soccer chants and everything. Do court rooms have a beer guy, or are they BYOB?
@@brayhill Maybe Allison will bring it for us!
Is it against the fire code of Centerville if we all flick our Bics, and wave them in unison?
I want to bring hand-written signs to hold up; “LONG-HAIRED JUDGES RULE!”
It's amazing how these people can never take responsibility for themselves...and she has kids. 😟
The dynamic duo……my 2 favorite channels and attorneys. Enjoy Judge Middleton anytime.
I started following him when he first started recording his cases and was immediately hooked.
I enjoy your reaction videos so much better than just watching it first.♥️
Thank You 😘
If you can’t show shelf control to the judge (which is a clear signal of an addict) how can you expect a judge to think you are trying to get your life together. I have been sober for the last 11 years without a single relapse (from meth) when I did get my life together I learned self control and most of all respect for others. She deserves to be locked up, I did not see any evidence from her that she has learned or has any remorse for any crimes she has been accused of.
It's been a year since u made this comment ... Congrats on 12 years!! 💪🏽💪🏽😁😁💯 I'm at 4 years now relapses, I wanna get to where u are !!
Oh those alligator tears, gotta love them. I have no respect for these folks who commit crimes and then blame the cops or the "system" for getting them in trouble. I would have some sympathy for her if she showed just the tiniest bit of respect for what the judge and the breaks he was giving her.
Or the old, "Applebee's Manager hates me " defense.
"I don't want to lose my job". "I want to get my life together". It's all about "I want".
I had to look up temerity. Learned a new word. Thanks Mike!!
Entertaining and educational. Double threat channel!
Good, lord these defendants are lucky to have a judge like him. He’s literally the sweetest judge in the world. Like a nice grand pop that keeps the neighborhood kids in line.
Best line ever: “has nothing to do with the price of tea in China” I hope you don’t mind I borrow that.
That was a popular expression well over 60 years ago.
Back when I was a whipper snapper 😂
@@JiveDadson what made it so popular?
@@tifa4594 How would I know? I was but a whipper-snapper. Knee high to a prap.
@@LawTalkWithMike I have a hard time believing you are any where near 60, i would of thought you slightly older then myself and I’m 43.
Our favorite Judge.
She is so disrespectful. Wrong guy to fool with. Has an excuse for EVERYTHING. BAD EXCUSES. Doesnt call her lawyer til the day of court. Clearly thinks this will just go away if she ignores it or cries
Yup
Love what you do Mike. I am from KC you show KS court sometimes on show. Shout out to Midwest
I can't wait to see the next call about her case!
👍
I was watching this, and i let out a long sigh in almost perfect sync with your sigh XD
👍
“I’m trying to get my life together”
Judge: “well I feel that is appropriate at this time” 😂 I nearly spat my coffee out
You summed it up perfectly Mike - king of understatements
Okay, I’m hooked, had to find the second one. Good thing I have insomnia right now, I will be up for another 1.5h watching the second
I really like this judge. I love to hear your explanations they are a help in understanding what is going on I'd also like to say I appreciate how you pause the court to make your comments
Thank You 😊
Judge Middletown ROCKS!
I was watching that stream when it happened and I was rolling laughing when I noticed Nixson just chilling down there in the feed watching the whole thing go down.
😂
You’re right on this one Mike the judge hasn’t made his mind up yet on the sentence. There are procedures they go through like the background check by probation and a rating and statements.
I love judge Middleton!!!! Thank you Mike for your entertaining and very educational content. Plus your dogs Frankie and Ollie are so 🥰 adorable. Thank you so much. 🤓-Elya D.
It's incredible how many people can't bear to take responsibility for the "bumps" they've put in their own road.
"Then don't get arrested!" Truer words were never spoken!!
🙌
This is the difference between saying what you believe and showing what you believe through your behavior
She goes to take a swig while saying, "I just want to get my life together."
Thats right Mike. The dog is important. they can't live in a shitty environment.
Just got home from work on a Wednesday night and see three videos, thanks for your work, you make a long day way better 🤙🤙🤙
Thank You 😊
This lady has functioned like this her entire life.
The manager hates me defense, classic 😂😂🤣🤣
The prosecutor is sitting thinking to himself how easy this case was, defendant did all his work for him.
Wimp! Still leaving the best bit out of the lumberjack song!🇦🇺🐨🇦🇺
😂😂😂
She can keep her charges straight but doesn't know what day it is!LOL!!!
