TV Interview of a Young Coach Carmen

Whitney Southwick of Channel 39 in San Diego interviews Coach Carmen in 1989 as she coached youth racewalking at Grossmont College in El Cajon, California.
At the filming of this interview, there was no women's racewalk division in the Olympics. Coach Carmen was in her 20's and coached by Jim Coots, who was getting her ready for the 1992 Olympic Trials. She got a virus just before the last race before the deadline to enter the trials, so she didn't make the qualifying time to race at the 1992 Olympic trials in New Orleans, but continued to train and coach others.
