It's fair. Also most coasters in Europe are in EU so travel between them is easy. Just like how it's easy to travel across states in USA

Hershey is goated and can definitely go toe to toe with the chain parks. It has an advantage of being backed by a huge corporation, and the coaster lineup is pretty stacked.
Honestly with the improvements to Skyrush and the addition of Wildcat’s Revenge, Hersheypark now has the strongest lineup on the east coast. A strong top 6 is practically unheard of at any other park
Hershey park only has 6 “good” coasters if you include great bear and storm runner which are really just filler rides. I’d rather go to great adventure for half the price and get a great flat ride lineup too lol

In all seriousness the fact that there’s such an ongoing debate about the ranking of Hershey’s top 6 with wildly different opinions between enthusiasts shows how good it is
Hersheys lineup is good but the park itself feels dirty and uninspired operations are slow and the employees are some of the worst in the industry for customer service.

Velocicoaster & Hagrid’s is half your day alone. For IOA to ever be half a day you’d probably have to get there at rope drop, on a weekday in the middle of the school week, with fastpass as a single rider. & even then if you’re riding every single ride, it would still take over half a day
I think the US versus europe still makes sense bc theyre similar in size if you just leave out the top of the nordic countries where nothing is europe is just more dense coaster wise

Hot take: Storm Chaser at Kentucky Kingdom is better than Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point.
Reason: while Steel Vengeance might've given more airtime, I didn't get ejected to the power of Storm Chaser, even at night, so it might've just been expectation issues. I expected SteVe to deliver thigh bruising airtime that Storm Chaser does.
Steel Vengeance has a ton of airtime moments, but the strength of all the moments are very average to below average by RMC standards. Storm Chaser, on the other hand, has among the strongest airtime of any coaster that I've ridden. It's right up there with Twisted Timbers, ArieForce One, and Skyrush for extreme strength of airtime. So I get what you're saying.
Hot Take: The Disney Parks will never be better than the Universal Parks.
True, although it really depends what you like. Disney has better theming but less intense ride
@@shaxility I like some thrilling rides. I just think that Disney Parks have the better IPs and they make people want to go to them more. Although I know of the new Universal Parks coming to the U.S I don’t think Disney will be in trouble after this. They are just saving up money so they can do what Universal is doing. Although I think that is also very wrong but it could so be right. Universal is still better at the moment but Disney has a chance to turn things around.

Also, my hot take is that Skyrush’s old restraints were not as bad as people made them out to be. I went in expecting them to pinch a blood vessel or something but my first ride on it was immaculate and it barely came down during the ride+ and my second time they definitely came down but it was a mild to moderate discomfort at worst. My worse one is the OSTRs on alpengiest. They’ve come down HARD every time I’ve ridden it, and you always smash your head into them on that cobra roll and brake run.

Yes. Exactly. I’ve not been to European parks. But from videos they are 10x better than ours. You guys have actual theming and they are always clean. Or more clean than ours. I’m jealous

Yes and no. I’ve been to IoA twice and the second time was one day split between the two parks. Granted I was there for a little bit more than half a day but not a full day. You just have to prioritize what you want to ride and do. I was able to get on basically everything I wanted to. All the coasters, water rides, Spider-Man, Dr Doom, forbidden journey, etc. I did have early entry so that helps for sure but it’s doable. Not recommended for first time tho.
Depends on the day. I'll go to IOA on a school day for 4 or 5 hours, hit the 3 major coasters, do Spider-Man and FJ, and can leave no issue. But I also live here and can go whenever I want versus the average thoosie who probably can only do a Florida trip once every year or two.
Yea I just went to Universal and went to Islands, Studios, and Volcano Bay over the course of 2 days. I got pretty much everything I wanted done but I spent about 1 full day’s worth of time at Islands and I needed it. I went on everything I wanted to go on, got a couple of re-rides, spent time just hanging around and even got night riders on Velocicoaster and Hagrids. If you really want to get the Islands experience, you need at least 1 full day iMO.

I feel like Six Flags GA told RMC to slow down Jersey Devil so it fills a middle family coaster role because it is the tamest RMC I have ever rode and really just feels like something went awfully wrong
I believe so. Thoosies aren’t happy about it because of that. I’ve seen many videos of them ranking Jersey Devil last cuz it was “too tame”.

The (smaller) independent parks Vs chains could be a different debate in Europe. I’m kind of leaving out the ‘smaller’ here because Europe has really notable independent parks that aren’t part of a chain and quite often not part of something outside of the theme park indisputable. Honestly, apart from Merlin, Walibi and Disney Paris, I’m not sure what other parks are part of big chains.

its hard to discuss US vs EU because not a lot of people have done both, and people are gonna be bias whether they want to or not. EU loves their coasters because its likely the only coasters theyve been on, and its the same in America

5:05 Don’t know that this is necessarily a hot take, but at this point Hersheypark has the strongest coaster lineup on the east coast and maybe only second to Cedar Point in the eastern US, no other park in the region can claim a strong top 6

Honestly, size-wise the US and Europe are basically on par. And if you wanna be that stingy - add Mexico, Canada and the rest of North America to the mix. It wont change much about the coasters.

Wicked Cyclone on a one lap basis. 2 laps on Wicked Cyclone puts it ahead overall.
Having said that WCR has elevated Hershey to the top park for coasters IMHO.
And if the new restraints make SkyRush more enjoyable it's all over but the crying.

Hot take: Cedar Fair made a mistake with Top thrill 2
If they ever add Hagrid's to Universal Express, I could see it being possible to do Islands of Adventure in half a day. Due to my schedule, I only had 3 hours there in January and was able to do all the super-headliners, Hulk, Spider-Man, Kong, Velocicoaster, Forbidden Journey, and Hagrid's. Hagrid's is the outlier as I only waited 30 minutes instead of 100 thanks to a free 1-time skip-the-line pass I was given as compensation for a mistake they made with the express pass I purchased at the entrance. I would have loved to stay longer to get on some of the rides I missed like Jurassic Park, Dr. Doom, and Cat in the Hat, and to get rerides on most of the ones I did like getting a 2nd ride on Velocicoaster where I wasn't stapled or a 2nd ride on Spider-Man where the sensory drop didn't malfunction, but I was very happy with my day overall, and that Hagrid's night-ride was amazing and worth the price of admission alone. And I did stop to take many pictures and videos and soak in the atmosphere in super-hero island, Jurassic Park, and Hogsmead.

I believe islands of adventure is more like a 3/4 day as i hit hulk, velocicoaster, and the water rides i don't typically go to hagrids as it is a rarity it is below 2 hours and i just have some personal problems with the layout

There’s definitely an argument to be made that Pipeline is the best coaster at SWO, solely because of how unique and fun it is. Personally it’s my #1 in the park with Mako as my #2

It’s because you have to be standing up on Pipeline. There has never been any other traditional stand-up coaster built after Scorcher at SFOG
I agree with everything you said about every take, except that I like fliers far more than inverts. My biggest hot take (at least it's a hot take among enthusiasts) is that I don't think Pipeline is very good. I prefer all of the old stand-ups to it.

I was the one who said flyers were lesser version than inverts haha. What I meant was that flyers felt like the family version of inverts. Flyers are very scenic while inverts are rlly intense but ur right. I shouldn’t be comparing them. Thank you for getting me into coasters

Hot take on that Independent vs chain one: KI is right in my back yard. I was born and raised there and could easily cal it my homepark. HOWEVER: I’ve barely been to the place at all in the last 3 years. Nearly every decision they’ve made since taking out Vortex (though completely understandable on service life for a defunct company etc) has slowly sucked away the charm of the place-taking away its uniqueness to become more “corporate” for the chain. And yet for some reason, it just gets more and more popular by the day because it’s one of CF’s best parks. Honestly in the last few years, it’s gotten to a point that I would drive around the parking lot for 45 minutes and leave after not finding a spot most days, so I just gave up on being a pass holder and spend my park time traveling to other states now. I’d much rather drive 2 hours to KK and make that my home park nowadays….
(Also independent parks are amazing! Knoebels is one of my favorites, and Hershey next door as another Indy park only makes Pennsylvania trips even better)
Hot take : the uk does have a smaller amount of coasters than the US ( and less crazy headlining attractions) but I think they have more of the good quality coasters , instead of a b&m stand up. Like Thorpe park has : an intamine top hat coaster, gerslaur eurofighter, b&m wing coaster, b&m invert etc - and soon a Mack hyper.
Once hyperia is built, thorpe Park will become the most visited themepark in the UK and possibly top 10 themeparks in Europe

I wouldn't really say hersheypark is a small independant park. It still beats out out plenty of chain parks. Like it has one of the best/most diverse coaster lineups in the world.

@@edt-ze3ke if you're tall enough to where the restraints are below your ears, it's glossy smooth. no tattle, just intense forces
Viper is my # 3 in the park, overall top 60 out of over 600. Tatsu is my # 7 in the park, outside of my top 100.
@@OklahomaCoasterFan I went in July 2019 so I wasn't able to ride West Coast Racers, Wonder Woman, or Apocalypse, and X2 was down on my visit, so I have Twisted Colossus as best in the park, then Viper, then Tatsu.
@@FryGuy909 I have not been on Wonder Woman either, but I suspect that I'll have Tatsu ahead of it. X2 is my favorite, West Coast Racers is neck and neck with Tatsu for me, and I'm a huge fan of Full Throttle & the old B&M stand-ups. Apocalypse was a bit rough & very weak airtime when I rode it. I have Batman the Ride ahead of it.
Toucan. If there are no lines and you get there early, you can most likely do all of the rides at IOA. But the lines at Hagrid and Velocicoaster are what makes it difficult.

Top Thrill getting more of a layout is a huge W to me. I got on the ride a lot as a kid, so I'm not really bummed about it being revamped. With CP as my home park it was down every time I went to the park which was like once a week for a summer. It's a shame that the ride died but it really was on its' last leg. I think it's being under-hyped pretty severely.
Hot take - Firehawk was better that Orion. Orion feels like a filler ride and doesn’t do much.
I'm one of Orion's biggest cheerleaders. Firehawk was still better. I'm glad we still have Batwing.
We went to universal on absolutely dead day and managed to do everything at studios and a few bits of ioa in one day and the next day at universal we spent full day at ioa and did everything with doing the main things 3 times each
I already know bro has not ridden pipeline, it clears manta and kraken and it’s barely worse than mako
I went to Great Adventure for like 4 years without ever riding toro or ka, and I can tell you the park is still great without them. I end up spending way more time in the batman/nitro/jersey devil area than the ka/toro/medusa area even after riding them any given day. Ka almost never has a wait that's more than 3 trains, toro usually only has about 10 minutes of wait, and that's on 1 train, and if medusa isn't a walk on I'd be amazed, so I always get my 3 or 4 in on each quickly. The lines are almost always nonexistent on the other side too, but the rides are all really re-ridable, aside from maybe jersey devil, but that's because the coaster wasn't made for people who are 6'5", so the back pain is my fault. I can sit on Nitro for hours and it wouldn't get old, and I can say that because I've done it. 23 rides in a row, back row, same train. Park was empty because it had been raining lightly all morning on a thursday, and they just kept sending us around.
Hot take: epic universe will make universal worse because it only has three great looking rides and will force premier hotel guests to ride a bus to get there which removes one of the two reasons to stay there. They should have built up their current parks instead or built some form of automated light metro to epic universe.
Toucan, and tbh I don't really like launch coasters like TT Dragster or Kingda Ka since its just a launch and a drop. Good take!
Hershey isn’t even a small independent park Hershey is potentially top 5 park in the states and holds it own against all SF parks and it could definitely go head to head with CP or KI

I think that if you were to remove Ka and Toro you would have a good park but it would be missing that “standout ride” that every park should have. This would probably drop great adventure down a few spots in peoples ranking of parks
