Yeah the way the game's balancing is handled right now is just a complete mess. I know Vetex isn't focused on making Arcane Odyssey a "competitive fighting game" but there should be a point where people don't feel obligated to change their builds every update just to chase a meta that's gonna get completely changed the next update anyway.

Vetex does not listen to the balance team. AT ALL. Like, they will advise him on basic shit and he ignores them. And we might be heading into a spam meta because they proposed updates to intensity and vetex was like NAHHH WE ADDING COOLDOWN REDUCTION FUCK INTENSITY LOOOOLLLL 2. I recently found out the testers ONLY test pve. They don’t brother to test pvp, or at least only a small number of testers bother to. -once again, this comes from members of the balance team themselves who have slowly stopped giving a shit lmao

Thermo became a hyper meta pick in PvP because it was simply statistically superior to every other fystyle. It may have had negative size, but it had .875x damage (+ 35% burn) and 1.3x speed. This has led to the balance team pushing for it to be nerfed patch after patch after patch. That’s insanely fucking strong. The fact thermo can’t start the fight charged now gives thermo a weak opening period for players to capitalize and “get ahead” before the thermo starts steamrolling until the balance team can successfully find a way to balance an fstyle with such ludicrously high stats. (As the heat maintenance style wouldn’t really be worth it otherwise…) Anyways, I’ve mainly talked to metapoly (who I’m pretty sure is on hiatus now so don’t bother him), raptorcaptain (also hard to get a hold of, I know him through clans), and J565. J565 is pretty much retired atm but he’s still involved to a decent degree behind the scenes and is the easiest guy to get a hold of, if you are interested in asking them any questions about what is going on. When metapoly’s back, if you have any deeper questions that haven’t already been answered then you can ping him with those. He should be willing to respond unless it’s shortsighted or poorly thought out.
i feel like instead of removing stun they should add a stun prevent stat that applies when your stunned and it last for 10-15 seconds so half your health isnt gone in like 4 moves
What’s crazy is that was actually in the game. Getting stunned preventer you from getting stunned again for 10 seconds but apparently people still cried over that because of ice warlock

Him being a solo dev is in the context of him being the only one allowed to script the game. He has other people work on map structures, armor and weapon designs,etc. and one person helping him with story development.
I'm currently playing a thermofist boxing juggernaut with 0 agility (122 vitality 150 strength). I have 62 power, 620 defense, 16 atkspeed, 132 regen, and 237 resistance. Because nobody is running armor piercing, i'm just borderline unkillable which is made even funnier when I bring ironskin potions into the mix (if its in the special occasion of somebody randomly hunting me.) Maybe i've just fought bad players, but I've actually been doing pretty alright in terms of fighting. I've mainly fought warriors and warlocks though, so i'll have to see whats up with mage dueling. Still, I think the balancing is out of the window this update: but it doesn't stop my build from being so unfathomably fucked that I was able to (with ironskin 3 + recovery 4) hold G, type into chat "hey man just try to kill me, im gonna go grab a glass of water", successfully grab a glass of water, come back, and realize that they hadn't even been able to keep me under max HP because of how much I was healing + resisting. The reactions are priceless.
Juggernaut is kinda goated, i run an iron leg one with like 2.4k hp and 45% resistance and while the fights are long i usually never get to less than 1k hp
Not only thermo was nerfed beyond any nerf but it also got in a position where only berserker could use it so any warlock/warlord does worse. Literally as warlock if i just spam magic, i overperform if i use both fs and magic or fs only.

had a couple of fights with a iron leg 300 atk size warlord today. Dealt 250 dmg minimum (doesn't include the x2 bleed dot) with his lion's halberd striking gale weapon move. His striking gales hit me even though I was an entire sailboat's distance away from it. (we both were at 50 ping) Striking gale has a 3 second cooldown btw so fighting the warlord was totally fun and enjoyable. Somehow he had 2000 hp (without focus) and about 60 power without any insanity. atk size/ ileg aoe (normal and imbue affinity) nerf when?
Ileg Warlord main here. I run 93 atk size and my attacks are still atrociously big with lions halberd. Dense does so much for weapons. I kinda hate that no other enchant except tempered on a few select weapons is viable.

No offense, I understand the point as I try and am a competitive player, yet there is lots of nick picking currently. First of all, weapons are being add each with their only specialties will result in power balance, a team with limit staff who are dealing with problems like bugs means poor balance is expected. However, this doesn't mean to be an excuse as balance recently has been poor as fighting skills got nerf mostly and magic dramatically buffed, I argue the game is much more healthy than before. Reducing agility and dodge reflexes has made the game more skill-reliant as I feel more punished for my moves. Notable buff to weapons, but I stand to argue the only really fighting class kinda struggling are them, and boxing with just a small change would be fine. The dodge reflex Nerf overall improves fighting and warrior styles class, but I agree on the topic where the berserker is difficult since magic is much stronger. Also, the new stats being pointless is unfair. Regen honestly instead horrible, kinda mid honestly but has potential for fast att spd build. Resilience is my new PVP build, needs work but shows huge possibility with weapons combinations. Lastly, armor piercing is right as I use a small amount of piercing on different build ranges from high to low which honestly increases my damage.
had a decent 70 hour playthrough, did pvp and theorycrafting on my warlock, seeing the changes in nimbus update made dropped the game a few days after completing nimbus story, i will play again once vetex picks up the slack and actually drops a good balance update
all this is really just cos ppl r in a constant race for meta sweating over numbers and minmaxxing rather than enjoying the game. arcane adventures pvp felt so much better bc the lack of class specialisation/equality between magics/same movesets meant everyone was on a more level playing field n most things felt viable (besides impact fist being crazy op but we’re not gonna talk abt that… we had fun) i think what vetex needs 2 do instead of playing this constant balancing act game with ao is try n make the pvp less incentivising to crazy meta races and stat build minmaxxing. get things on a more level playing field like in aa. but i’m not sure how that’s gonna happen without ruining the cool hybrid class system + customisation that makes things so interesting in the first place, it’s tough
as someone whos been playing vetex's games since 2016 id rather play the broken and unpieced together version of AA right before it was shutdown than play this disaster of a reskinned game on top of the balance team who do everything in their power to make unnecessary changes to put the game in a worse state than it was before
Wrong, 100% wrong, nerfing things over and over never fixes anything, Vetex needs to competely rethink how balancing is done, and find new testers as the current ones seem to only care about PvP.

You need to open your eyes dude, your current mindset is not a healthy one for the playerbase, not everyone is into PvP, never asume that kind of case, it is unhealthy, and toxic, and makes you look like your putting yourself on a pedestal above PvE players. This is why people look at PvP communities with distain, because of how they are unwilling to consider how these kinds of things effect others as well. And clearly Vetex has hired people on his team who are also to PvP focused to consider the general playerbase.
No it makes a big difference even at like 100. Cus like 25% while holding an attack is Really nice. You do more damage by holding down the attack and they do less damage to you.
Honestly I like when things are unbalanced and I don't even use unbalanced things it can lead to some funny things but I agree with people and the dev team that it shouldn't be keep has it will get quite stale after a while.

The new update im nimbus sea is really boring and out right not giving people good lvls like thinking they might expanded to lvl 150 to 200 but we got pranked again. As you know that i abandon being a savant and switch to warrior the problem with the build between warrior and mages and warlocks are really damn broken and was never balance. Like mages and warlocks are still overpower like getting to a lot of damage and has more varieties of arsonal to escape. Whlie warriors are still bit powerful but had at disadvantage against both mages and warlocks like the aoe in mages and warlock are damn bad. Like really balance are still bad at situation also pluging and tp tracking is just bad due to people doing fame hunt or outright creepy tracking people. Edit: this is me just took a break for few days.
Man, Thermo is already Good Enough as a Plasma Thermo i can say proud Thermo isn't weak at all, the dmg is really good + the seared effect is applied in the moment you reached 50% of the heat (same for scorch effect) + you gain heat extremlly fast, just play aggresive and you will get almost full heat in like 4-5 skills used
the problem is at.size ngl going up against insanely large attack size users with earth is hard to deal with because of their dumb frame dropping attack and u could prob lag so hard that it makes u an easy target and i agree plasma thermo is rn op because of status effect combined with intensity u can make an insane powerhouse tho u will be glass cannon with no defense thats why i rn hate mage users just for this single reason
@@hyoga4939 You don't need Intensity for Plasma Thermo. Plasma imbue decrease the dmg of Thermo Fist but if you can get a right Build and practice aim, the synergy and doing combos will give you the victory agains the opponent

@@GrooveAtlas365 I agree the balance is managed poorly, but that's because of vetexs schedule of patches, changes often have to wait ages to go through so there's often a large backlog of changes which result in huge changes at once which just make the bteams job more difficult.

I just deeply hate how annoying it is to play Warlock or Berserk against PVE content, and they keep making it worse. Grabs almost never works on NPCs, meanwhile their grabs straight up magnet to you. Hitboxes on ships feels janky af and if you do not have a ton of AOE, the chance you will miss is big. I truly do not know what has been happening with balance of this game for a while, and nerfing Thermo again proved me they do not know jackshit of how is to balance the game.
tbf combat on all moving objects in roblox is fucking messy as shit. the unfortunate thing with npcs is they have functional aimlock and perfect understanding of hitboxes because of it.

The issue tho is that apparently no one on the developing side of the game is taking those into account, if they're not able to fix it, why NPCs can still grab you? Can't tell how many times I've got canceled from a spell or attack. Like, it feels someetimes Vetex is not accounting that he is developing a game inside Roblox a bunch of times, and simply ignore a bunch of inherent issues with the platform.

Regardless if your a tester or a liar, Vetex and the team need to stop using the method of nerfing things back and forth, it will never break metas or balance the game, it will only make matters worse, making the community hyper-toxic with metas. The best advice to give, is look up the content creator Pirate Software, go to the shorts page, and look for the short on breaking metas, I hate shorts but this is a case of watching it being worth the trouble.
@@Chowman741 I beat several players by blocking with a shield until they are too exhausted to dodge. Blocking is not gonna kill you, in fact it could probably win you the game if you use it excessively. Players jump around needlessly to dodge you regardless of if you’re attacking or not. Sitting still and blocking unironically puts you at a massive advantage 10 seconds later.

We have seen how overpowered the drill shape and mage builds can be, so we have decided to nerf thermo fist again.
drill is bugged and is 33% larger than intended

Like step not giving any heat or m1 give even less heat makes Thermo feels D to F tier.

You can quite easily avoid sparrow thrust by just being infront of the warrior player. But the cooldown on it should be almost double imo.

the max power build is dealing 2300 dmg with surge even tho there is drawback it is still so op u just hve to 1 tap
had a couple of fights with a iron leg 300 atk size warlord today. Dealt 250 dmg minimum (doesn't include the x2 bleed dot) with his lion's halberd striking gale weapon move. His striking gales hit me even though I was an entire sailboat's distance away from it. (we both were at 50 ping) Striking gale has a 3 second cooldown btw so fighting the warlord was totally fun and enjoyable. Somehow he had 2000 hp (without focus) and about 60 power without any insanity.
atk size/ ileg aoe (normal and imbue affinity) nerf when?
i fought this commodore at munera he was an ileg warlord too, i was a boxinglord with 0 size and managed to get him to orange (he ran away lol)
Ileg Warlord main here. I run 93 atk size and my attacks are still atrociously big with lions halberd. Dense does so much for weapons. I kinda hate that no other enchant except tempered on a few select weapons is viable.

No offense, I understand the point as I try and am a competitive player, yet there is lots of nick picking currently.
First of all, weapons are being add each with their only specialties will result in power balance, a team with limit staff who are dealing with problems like bugs means poor balance is expected. However, this doesn't mean to be an excuse as balance recently has been poor as fighting skills got nerf mostly and magic dramatically buffed, I argue the game is much more healthy than before.
Reducing agility and dodge reflexes has made the game more skill-reliant as I feel more punished for my moves. Notable buff to weapons, but I stand to argue the only really fighting class kinda struggling are them, and boxing with just a small change would be fine. The dodge reflex Nerf overall improves fighting and warrior styles class, but I agree on the topic where the berserker is difficult since magic is much stronger.
Also, the new stats being pointless is unfair. Regen honestly instead horrible, kinda mid honestly but has potential for fast att spd build. Resilience is my new PVP build, needs work but shows huge possibility with weapons combinations. Lastly, armor piercing is right as I use a small amount of piercing on different build ranges from high to low which honestly increases my damage.
had a decent 70 hour playthrough, did pvp and theorycrafting on my warlock, seeing the changes in nimbus update made dropped the game a few days after completing nimbus story, i will play again once vetex picks up the slack and actually drops a good balance update
all this is really just cos ppl r in a constant race for meta sweating over numbers and minmaxxing rather than enjoying the game.
arcane adventures pvp felt so much better bc the lack of class specialisation/equality between magics/same movesets meant everyone was on a more level playing field n most things felt viable (besides impact fist being crazy op but we’re not gonna talk abt that… we had fun)
i think what vetex needs 2 do instead of playing this constant balancing act game with ao is try n make the pvp less incentivising to crazy meta races and stat build minmaxxing. get things on a more level playing field like in aa. but i’m not sure how that’s gonna happen without ruining the cool hybrid class system + customisation that makes things so interesting in the first place, it’s tough
as someone whos been playing vetex's games since 2016 id rather play the broken and unpieced together version of AA right before it was shutdown than play this disaster of a reskinned game on top of the balance team who do everything in their power to make unnecessary changes to put the game in a worse state than it was before
I swear after Ds and this update I would say that 1.13 was the most balanced time of all

Wrong, 100% wrong, nerfing things over and over never fixes anything, Vetex needs to competely rethink how balancing is done, and find new testers as the current ones seem to only care about PvP.

@@Q_ari Because it effects the entire game, if you "balance" things while only thinking about how it effects PvP, it will only further damage the game, as they will forget that it effects PvE as well. This isn't something I am just pulling out of thin air to stir drama, this is a real thing, far to many games and their communites have rotted away from the same mistake Vetex and his team have been making.

@@Q_ari Okay you literally just shot yourself inthe foot BIG time, any time you try to change something for PvP, you need to consider how it will effect PvE as well, you can't just go around changing things for the sake of something that only makes up a small percentage of the gameplay. You need to open your eyes dude, your current mindset is not a healthy one for the playerbase, not everyone is into PvP, never asume that kind of case, it is unhealthy, and toxic, and makes you look like your putting yourself on a pedestal above PvE players.
This is why people look at PvP communities with distain, because of how they are unwilling to consider how these kinds of things effect others as well. And clearly Vetex has hired people on his team who are also to PvP focused to consider the general playerbase.

No it makes a big difference even at like 100. Cus like 25% while holding an attack is Really nice. You do more damage by holding down the attack and they do less damage to you.
Honestly I like when things are unbalanced and I don't even use unbalanced things it can lead to some funny things but I agree with people and the dev team that it shouldn't be keep has it will get quite stale after a while.

The new update im nimbus sea is really boring and out right not giving people good lvls like thinking they might expanded to lvl 150 to 200 but we got pranked again.
As you know that i abandon being a savant and switch to warrior the problem with the build between warrior and mages and warlocks are really damn broken and was never balance.
Like mages and warlocks are still overpower like getting to a lot of damage and has more varieties of arsonal to escape.
Whlie warriors are still bit powerful but had at disadvantage against both mages and warlocks like the aoe in mages and warlock are damn bad.
Like really balance are still bad at situation also pluging and tp tracking is just bad due to people doing fame hunt or outright creepy tracking people.

Man, Thermo is already Good Enough as a Plasma Thermo i can say proud Thermo isn't weak at all, the dmg is really good + the seared effect is applied in the moment you reached 50% of the heat (same for scorch effect) + you gain heat extremlly fast, just play aggresive and you will get almost full heat in like 4-5 skills used
the problem is at.size ngl going up against insanely large attack size users with earth is hard to deal with because of their dumb frame dropping attack and u could prob lag so hard that it makes u an easy target and i agree plasma thermo is rn op because of status effect combined with intensity u can make an insane powerhouse tho u will be glass cannon with no defense
thats why i rn hate mage users just for this single reason
@@hyoga4939 You don't need Intensity for Plasma Thermo. Plasma imbue decrease the dmg of Thermo Fist but if you can get a right Build and practice aim, the synergy and doing combos will give you the victory agains the opponent

@@GrooveAtlas365 I agree the balance is managed poorly, but that's because of vetexs schedule of patches, changes often have to wait ages to go through so there's often a large backlog of changes which result in huge changes at once which just make the bteams job more difficult.

I just deeply hate how annoying it is to play Warlock or Berserk against PVE content, and they keep making it worse.
Grabs almost never works on NPCs, meanwhile their grabs straight up magnet to you. Hitboxes on ships feels janky af and if you do not have a ton of AOE, the chance you will miss is big.
I truly do not know what has been happening with balance of this game for a while, and nerfing Thermo again proved me they do not know jackshit of how is to balance the game.
tbf combat on all moving objects in roblox is fucking messy as shit.
the unfortunate thing with npcs is they have functional aimlock and perfect understanding of hitboxes because of it.

The issue tho is that apparently no one on the developing side of the game is taking those into account, if they're not able to fix it, why NPCs can still grab you? Can't tell how many times I've got canceled from a spell or attack.
Like, it feels someetimes Vetex is not accounting that he is developing a game inside Roblox a bunch of times, and simply ignore a bunch of inherent issues with the platform.

Regardless if your a tester or a liar, Vetex and the team need to stop using the method of nerfing things back and forth, it will never break metas or balance the game, it will only make matters worse, making the community hyper-toxic with metas. The best advice to give, is look up the content creator Pirate Software, go to the shorts page, and look for the short on breaking metas, I hate shorts but this is a case of watching it being worth the trouble.

@@Chowman741 I beat several players by blocking with a shield until they are too exhausted to dodge. Blocking is not gonna kill you, in fact it could probably win you the game if you use it excessively. Players jump around needlessly to dodge you regardless of if you’re attacking or not. Sitting still and blocking unironically puts you at a massive advantage 10 seconds later.
