Czardas Arranged by James Gourlay, Soloist: Isaac Baker

After a winning performance of the first movement of Vaughan Williams Tuba Concerto in the Under 15 Brass event at Sydney Eisteddfod 2023, Isaac (14 years old) was invited to perform at the Sydney Eisteddfod Pollard Awards 2023.
Isaac chose to perform an arrangement of Czardas written by his teacher, Dr James Gourlay who guided him through this performance of this piece.
This performance earned Isaac a 3rd Place in the Sydney Eisteddfod Pollard Awards which consisted of 10 winners of Sydney Eisteddfod events, all playing a range of instruments from all 4 music families, to a mass audience adjudication.
Huge thanks to Dr James Gourlay for all his work with Isaac as well as Gabriel Baker for accompanying Isaac through this performance, and Sydney Eisteddfod for giving Isaac the chance to perform to a large audience.
