I never tire of hearing the lazy growl of a 37. The class 12 looked good too.

Yeah they've got a decent sound decoder and speaker in there 😅 Thanks for watching 👍

I love diesel because that was my era! My first memory of trains was going to London on the ECML in 1969 on an intercity train that I presume was pulled by a Class 55 Deltic. I remember the train pulling in and the shape of the locomotive but can't specifically claim it was a Class 55. Steam was still in open then but I don't remember a single thing about it apart from the dirty black soot covered train station ceilings!

Awesome, there's a good chance it was a Deltic to be honest! Thanks for watching 😃

Sat at Goathland last night watching the class 31 come in. Hoping to jump on a ride tomorrow whilst I'm holidaying this way.

Awesome! Goathland is a beautiful station. There's a nice walk you can do through the woods from there to Grosmont station too... although a ride on the train is definitely much better in my opinion! Thanks for watching 🤩

I know what you mean, older Diesels like this do have something to them! Thanks for watching 😃

The track layout exiting Grosmont Tunnel looks peculiar, without seeing it from a different angle it looks like it should lead to derailments. Yet the 37 waltzes across, so obviously I am missing something.

There's a set of catch points at the exit if that's what you mean? They're a protection device used on many railways, designed to derail anything moving in that direction if the line ahead isn't clear. They're controlled like a normal set of points (but without a diverging route) by the signaller so when the line is clear, locos and rolling stock can travel over them line normal rail. Hope that helps and thanks for watching 😃

Neat stuff!! Class 37 has got to be one of my favorite diesels.
Quick question, do you think you can rearrange your Modular Model Railway playlist? It’s rather strange watching it in reverse.
Edit: don’t think I’ve ever seen a Class 31 before. Neat little boxy boy.

Hiya, there should be an option in the playlist to toggle the order of videos. If you like the look of the Class 31 both Accurascale and Bachmann have brand new models of this loco dropping in the next few months! Thanks for watching 😃

The series was filmed last year. Some of the other videos have tell-tale signs of when it was filmed too. Thanks for watching 😃

Very nice. I really enjoy these visits to heritage railways. How is the 08 designed? Is there only one electric traction motor while the other axles are connected with the rod? Many thanks.

I believe the Class 08s have two sets of driving wheels. I'm not sure about the Class 11 in this video but I would assume it's the same. Thanks for watching 😃
