JP Bouvet is one of those rare teachers who really has a well established system to learn improvisation on the drumset and to think about drums in term of music /melody. What a Legend 💯💫
I’m just going through and liking all these videos. Straight gold. You and benny greb are about the only educators actually pushing content that focuses on the “how”. Other pseudo-educators would just show u the rlk sticking and call it a day. You actually show how to use it in a dope way. You’re killing it.
Nice lesson. There is a video of Jojo Mayer in a clinic, saying that he practiced KRL for so many hours straight that he started hallucinating.... Maybe we should too :P
great work JP. question: towards the end, you started counting 1/16th noites (1 e + a, etc.) which makes sense since you said in. the headline that this is in straight time. in the common example demonstration, it seemed like you played the figure as an 1/8 note triplet. i just want to be sure that this approach involves playing 1/16ths in groups of 3's which means that we are constantly going over the bar line, unless we add a group of 4 somewhere?

Seriously though, love the groove. Started using it today. Thanks for the great lesson!!
JP's methods are like entering cheat codes in video games. It's like having god mode at your fingertips.

Insane simple and complex at the same time…
I struggle a lot with RLLF 😢
Oh then we can replace one of the R or Ls with flams orrr displace the K this is sick
Yes! These are additional ideas discussed in the course actually! Good thinking.
