Before the days of Slippi unranked, Melee players needed a different way to connect with each other and play games (other than actually playing in person, because who wants to do that). The most popular and accessible way was a website called smashladder.com, or Anther's Ladder. Now, don't get me wrong, sometimes people on this website were massive pricks, but there were some genuinely great and useful features on it. But when Slippi released, we all stopped using the site for some reason despite yearning for an official ranked mode. That is, until recently- there's been a resurgence of people playing on Anther's again trying to revive it. So I'm gonna be the best.
