yes I put the same strand of twinkle lights as I put on the stair garland- just because I like it to twinkle all day and the lights on the garland are on a timer for night.

The smallest set may have sold out. The set I used was around $15. But you can definitely go back and forth with them. Just look for some that are slow twinkle led
