    Here's something people never think about. If you signed a contract with your employer and they promised you 10 hours. Save a copy of the contract, keep a daily log of hours worked and save all your pay stubs. When you do finally decide to leave the company, talk to the labor department and be prepared to show proof of hours less than 10. The company will cut you a check for all the hours they shorted you after the borough of labor has a talk with them for breech of contract. If you don't fight for your money, nobody else will do it for you. 😉 Oh yeah, I watched the video because I'm still waiting for a FedEx pkg. Came here from your FedEx video. ☺ Love your 🐕.

I will catch the bus or Uber to work early in the morning, get all the way there, they give out the vans and tell me theres no more routes left for the day and to just go home without pay. I don't know how they get away with this, it's terrible

I worked for a really crappy DSP before I found the current one.

    I must say this is a pretty solid description of what it is like to be an Amazon DSP driver. I would like to add a couple things. Generally the amount of stops that you are assigned varies on how fast you are. My DSP generally assigns me between 165 and 195 stops, this includes group stops as well as lockers. Unfortunately the part about the 15-minute breaks I would say I personally do not know what you're talkin about LOL. Most of the time drivers with a high amount of stops don't have time to utilize those at all. If for some reason you're behind the 30-minute lunch is merely just a dent in your paycheck and not something you often get to experience. From my experience pack a lunch because dsp's generally try to give you the largest routes possible so they can make the most money. Depending on how strict they are they might give you a hard time for something simple like stopping to use the bathroom or even just picking up a sandwich. If you don't meet the fast pace they will send rescues and if this happens more then a couple times when slow season happens and route crunch becomes a thing you won't have a route to run because they are assigning the larger routes to faster drivers. Overall though the job itself is not that bad in my opinion. Just keep in mind like any job it's not always going to be all sunshine and rainbows

    • @NetLiege

      I also have a very late start time. 10:40 AM to be exact. I usually don’t get to my route until noon. The late start time is annoying at times because if you have businesses on your route, sometimes the algorithm sends you to them way too late and they’ll be closed for the night. It’s always annoying when you have to bring packages back to the station.

  • @renspecs
    @renspecs Год назад +76

    One thing I've never understood about driver complaints is that most drivers will judge the beef of the route based on package count. I always base it on number of stops. You could have 300 packages, but if several homes have 7 envelopes, it's no more physical work than if a house had 2 envelopes. The number of stops dictates the physicality of the route if your walking back and forth that many more times. I'd rather have 110 stops with 300 packages than have 170 stops with 200 packages

      You're wrong my guy, amazon considers group stops as a single stop....meaning just because it says you have 170 stops, you might have 220 in reality...if you have 3 houses in the same area, its a group stop and they categorize that as 1 stop lmfao .

    • @renspecs
      @renspecs 5 месяцев назад

      @@1PerfectAgony Yeah you're right. I'm aware of groups stops, so when I say 110 stops vs 170, I actually mean 110 stops plus the extra from groups vs 170 plus the groups. 110 stops could equal to 150 and 170 could mean 210. Either way, I'd rather have less stops than less packages.

    There are probably videos out there that are more thorough regarding what to expect as a dps driver, but this is a great video recapping a day in life with Amazon as a delivery driver (simple and fun to watch). I like your creativity and enthusiasm. To answer how I got here and commenting on your video? RUclips is a great lurker somehow posted your video on my feed so I watched it and it was fun. Am I ever going to become a dps driver? Maybe for just the experience as a part-timer one day. Your enthusiasm and creativity do help others make videos too. 😄

      I work both FedEx and Amazon. Ground full time and Amazon 2 days. Fedex is whole lot better due to the hours (no rescues), no group stops, and you have your own route/truck. Yes, you lift heavy shit but it’s easy. Idk about your dsp, at my dsp - were not allowed to rts until dispatch says we can (til everyone is done) so we start at 10 and finish anywhere from 7:30-8:30 at night. At FedEx, im home by 4-4:30.
