I think the reason he did not simply take photos or take photos and send to many illustrators to draw is because he wanted to contribute to the drawing tradition which is still ongoing. Aesthetically speaking I think diversity in ways to express is always conducive to great art; while practically I think this work could inspire and educate generations of drafters ---- many of whom work in really practical fields like scientific illustration which is still a big thing.
so much dedication! what an artist. i hope i can be as dedicated as this guys with creating artworks. well i call my films artworks. i hope i can get a chance to meet him and maybe have a book of his personally signed
I wanna do this in New York since it's my home, but instead of train stations I wanna draw sandwhich shops all the old mom and pop shops and like timesquare I wanna do that.
You should engage that 'savant artist' from London. You could just sit him on the train and he could then do all your drawings - from memory, after just one pass through the network!
Great piece!Loved how dynamic you made the illustration sequences, top notch editing as always! Also loved the music. Is that first track from Audio network? If so, whats it called?
He could take pictures of each and send them to illustrators to draw. It would cost money but save years. I guess it's his passion so whatever. Kinda cool though.

Taking pictures works but I was always encouraged to draw looking at live objects and surroundings. I guess that's what he believe too

Get this guy a camera right now
just take a picture
I get that drawing is great, i am an artist myself
But taking pictures is more practical
Takes less time and more accurate than a drawing
how about camera.
