Jodel is originaly from Tyrol a region located in the Swiss, Austrian and Italian Alps.
I your want to listen to "real" Yodel you can search "Jodel Time" by Diana Ankudinova in biind auditions of The Voice Russia (2017). No armchair has turned around! This event is still considered now as one of the biggest fails of The Voice Global! On the other hand, the performance had been acclaimed by the audience and it had quickly exceeded 2 million views.
I would have mentioned this if you had not.
BECAUSE hers was THE BEST performance in the auditions, somebody SHOULD have turned. Since nobody did, there was a HUGE public outcry. People already knew the show was rigged but most of the people who won would seem like they plausibly could win.
But not a single chair turned for that INCREDIBLE performance by Diana? That meant every judge or talent scout involved was a damned crook and they were actually blocking real talent by not turning. There was a HUGE investigation. Pretty sure that show is no longer on the air.
I'm from Europe and for me yodelling = Tyrol. Like men in lederhose yodelling in the green mountains between cows with cow bells on their neck. I was surprised he thought it was purely an American country thing.

Diana is the most extraordinary singer in the world. You need to listen to a lot of her stuff - as she has been singing on stage since she was 8 years old and she is now 20. Listen to everything and you will be shocked and fascinated. She's not exactly a singer - she's a mythical Siren and you can hear it. And you will follow her voice - obeying your soul, as millions of people followed. Now she has the title of Queen of chills (goosebumps).

I am chalenging you to listen to her most recent duet with Brandon Stone singing her own song called "the day you", the you will going to witness her voice's cieling.
And if you want to see her chest voice cieling then you got to see her continues belting when she sings the main theme of the movie dune, she will blow your mind.
Ofcourse if you would like to see her specialty, the low end of her register then you will have to see her song called "Baikal".
She has so much content that i have hard time suggesting one or two things, everything is cream of the crop quality wise.

For me, this performance/video is a “Masterpiece of Vocal and Performance Art” for eternity.
This is my absolute favorite Diana performance/video of all time and I'm pretty sure it will stay that way.
For me, everything in this particular video is just perfect.
This is also a reason why I like to call her “Divine Diana Diva,” among her many other artistic abilities and human qualities.

I offer my apologies to admirers of other singers. This performance absolutely ruined my ability to appreciate any other. Sure, I respect their talent and skill, but Diana is the greatest artist of all.
It's been four years since I first heard her. I don't foresee any change of my view. Don't tell me to look at this person or that. I have seen them. They are surely great. But, they are not Diana.

Diana is magical. You would really enjoy her live on stage belting non-stop in Han Zimmer's movie soundtrack for DUNE with a full orchestra (She's 20 years old now). It's powerful, atmospheric and mesmerizing. She uploaded the performance a month or so ago. Enjoyed your commentary and thoughts. It's always nice to hear expert or learned opinions.

Thanks for the reaction! Naturally her voice got deeper and more controlled despite amazing already here, and many suggestions will be to songs perfect for deep voices.

I don't see how you can properly get the true feel of the performance pausing the song every 5 seconds.
I’ve explained why I decided to record my videos in this format going forward in my previous video - and I make it clear in every video that I will be stopping very frequently to discuss vocal technique and the details in the music. I can assure you, pausing and talking about the music does not harm my personal experience of the performance. I get just as much out of it as I would if I listened to it all of the way through.

Yodeling is definitely an American singing texhnique. Not Russian at all. Except for the crying at the end.

Sorry, but when yodeling was used in Europe, America didn't exist as a country yet, you learned it thanks to immigrants from Europe, don't appropriate something that isn't even culturally yours and it won't be just because you learned to use it

Yodeling is a special kind of singing, traditionally widespread mainly in the Tyrolean Alps. The singer's voice jumps from the chest register to the falsetto in large interval jumps. Yodeling in the Alps originally served to communicate between mountaineers and shepherds. A similar type of singing is also found among other peoples, it was recorded among African Pygmies, Melanesians, etc. A related phenomenon in Czech folklore is the so-called yukán, which is especially widespread in Šumava. Yodeling also played a role in American country music, where it was incorporated. I am well aware of yodeling’s origins and how the technique works, but you seem to have just taken my reply as an opportunity to whine about “cultural appropriation” where there is none. Is it now a crime to use non-American singing techniques in American music? If that’s the case then you might as well work your way down the list of every musical genre on Earth, all of which have experienced different influences from different cultures. So many musical genres have originated in the US that are known all over the world (think about jazz, R&B, rock n’ roll, soul, hip-hop, etc.). How often do you see Americans complain about other countries adapting these genres to their musical environments? It’s honestly ridiculous to be concerned about “cultural appropriation” when it comes to music, quite possibly the single most widespread art form on the planet
