The 68th Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted in Malmö, Sweden. Semifinals and finals will be held May 7th, 9th and 11th in Malmö Arena.

Someone finally recognized that Malta's national selection is not bad at all! Fans are skipping Miriana tho, I could see her qualify to the final and then come TOP 10 with jury. It's funny how at the same time I wrote that she could do Destiny and you said fans could draw Destiny comparisons. 😂❤

Everybody in Malta can sing
Malta has actually really good selection this year, even some nice songs didn't made it to the NF.
I personally think "Sirena" by Erba would be something refreshing from Malta, above that the chorus is on Maltese. I'm not sure if Europe would feel it tho...
And the fact that Aidan didn't had a chance with "Regina" or "Ritmu" still hurts.
"Mara" and "Loop" have potential too. They need to choose wisely this time and back to the game, hopefully!
I mean if people want a Maltese parts of the lyrics, Banana counts as well as an option. Banana also has some parts in Maltese like "Mela", "Wiehed (1) , tnejn (2) , erbgha (4) , tlieta (3) " and "Kullha dik il-banana" .
My fav is Sirena, you couldn´t get the full essence of the song from the snippet but it combines modern sounds with traditional maltese music plus they sing half of the song in maltese. Malta usually gets more points from Eastern countries and i think they would massively vote for this! Mara has potential and i do not want to see that Banana song on eurovision, im afraid joke entries are coming back again bc of the 100% televote semi final system.....
I would love to hear your reaction to the revamps of the final 10 from Malta - even before the selection next week. All the songs got revamps and I think MESC is one of the better NFs this year! Cheers

If I had to guess I'd say Banana will most likely win this, its probably their best choice too tbh

Good national selection in general! Very underrated
I know it's not a popular opinion but Destiny's 'all of my love' was one of my favourite entries. In the baddest year ever for perform. Malta could have reached the top 3. But let's focus on this year and maybe we should give Venom our second chance. Great vocals, great performer. Just count me in. And yeah; I'm thinking of Destiny.

Bridges only came 10th in the semifinal and for me it was a quality ballad with quality staging and vocals so im worried for ballads in general.
I mean- yes. But also: it did make it. So I think there is a sliver of hope for a ballad that is executed to perfection vocally AND has a sticky quality.
You should see full performances as they sound good as hell in full ones
Sirena is a good song if you listen in full and has got a good potential at esc
For me personally, Sirena is the only one that stood out. I think with a revamp and some solid staging, it would sail through to the grand final.
If Chanel could finish 3rd and Blanka could finish 8th in the final with the televote, there is no way Loop isnt qualifying and getting a very respectable result. And many other fine choices like Sirena or Mara.. what Malta absolutely needs to avoid at all costs is the embarrassing half assed joke entry from Matt Blxck..
Mariana has a great track, hopefully she brings the staging..
Ryan's voice is wonderful
To me Miriana gives more of Netta vibes rather than Destiny
My faves are Sarah, Denise, Miriana and Erba

So i missed this live stream sadly. Malta is trying it with 20 songs again which worried me, but lets go.
Mara gives me K-POP vibes...could be good. Venom is good too!! This selection is an upgrade from 2023, as i did not like The Busker at all.

Lol I haven't even once thought there's any similarity with Kaarija the many times I heard it. But yeah, if having onomatopoeic words many can relate to works, why not?
