Finally finished my Scx10iii Jeep Rubicon during lockdown getting parts and all the bits needed was a mission but great time to get on with it and I am still waiting for the Roof Light Bar, Rear bumper with spare tyre, Extra lights and ESS Duel sound kit to arrive so I can fit, oh and some extra stickers for it!

@@souledoutrc8174 Its Tamiya AS -7 Neutral Greay (USAAF) Spray paint wasnt sure how well it would stick to polycarbonate body so did a clear flat spray coat 1st

@@rcadventurer I have an SCX10 2012 CRC Jeep JKU; that is still in excellent condition. When I bought it RTR new, I dove deep into mods and upgrade;probably spent another $500 on the truck. I’ve sort of run out of things to add or swap out, so I have been tempted to buy a new clear body, to noodle on and provide an alternate look. I know I would need new taller rear body pins. Do you happen to know if the body you did will fit on an older SCX10 “4 door” Jeeps?
@@bldallas ok cool sounds great to be honest I haven't tried fitting it on others as I have a scx10ii but its been changed to fit a dodge power wagon body the main thing is the inner fenders on the scx10 3 might make it hard to fit scx10ii 🤔🤔think its best to check facebook groups for scx10 users they will have tried it etc as you don't wanna be chopping it up!! stay safe 👍 👍 👍

do you know if you can use a engine sound box on this jeep? i had the scx 2 and took my sound box out of that and tried to put it in my new scx10 3 jeep and it doesnt seem to have a spot on the reciever for it to work, this sure does take away 50% of the fun, dont understand why this company wouldnt havr thought about this, its crazy.
Yes this has the Sense Innovations Ess Duel sound kit in it I put that sound kit in all my crawlers love it as you can programe the different sound effects etc 😎😎 Thank for watching :)

Great build. I love the hex bolts on the fenders and rock sliders. Where did you get the bolts from and what spacing did you put them at in between eachother?
Thanks for that really enjoyed that one the hex bolts are just from ebay I just bought a box of varied sizes there are loads to choose from, I cant remember the exact spacing but to be honest I have seen others since with less or more and still looks great so doesn't really matter as long as you keep the same distance between each hex bolts depending on how may you choose to use obvs it will still have the same effect good luck with your build👍👍👍👍

what was the reason you went with last clear coat spray on outer shell. awesome video and tips you shared.
Thanks very much for checking it out 👍 👍 the reason was I wanted a matt finish and the clear body always gives a gloss finish if you spray matt clear coat on top it dulls down the finish, obvs if you want it shiny etc no need for that at all although some do a clear coat on top to protect stickers etc either gloss or matt. Check out the TRX4 DEFENDER build I just did similar finish to the Jeep if you get 5 mins its a beast haha 👍 👍

Thanks v much 😁👍👍 it's a white gel pen cost about £2 from any stationary store (Whsmiths) lasts a while then just touch it up a bit cheap and effective 👌👌

Great video! Question for you. What's the purpose of spraying the flat clear on the outside of the body? Just curious 😅
sure thing it helps the grey stick as the grey paint is not reccomended for that type of body also the flat clear when sprayed on top of the grey makes the grey flat if you want that look and the paint is not flat if that makes sense lol

Do the rc4wd ballistic wheels fit the portal axles or do you need adapters?
From memory they fit ok without but will double check and let you know, as I bought other wheels and the inside was too big to fit them which was a pain!!
I took my wheel off and it has a 10mm metal hex on there not sure what it came when I built the kit maybe 5mm? anyway that's how mine is fitted hope that helps thanks
This looks amazing. Can I ask what the clear base coat is for at 35 seconds?
Sure, I used Grey Ts paint which is not recommended for lexan/polycarbonate bodies as you know you need Ps paint as it can crack so the clear coat was to help the Ts paint stick better and worked well no probs so far after using it several times and rolling it over etc, I don't recommend it either but don't mind trying things on mine and that was the exact colour I wanted regardless 😎👍😎👍

Thanks👍👍 I guess it helps but depends how hard you drive as many of my other Rc's haven't got cages and they are fine when they roll over on the trail, I don't bash my crawlers though so they are generally alright. I like the look of the roof chopped off with just the cage showing as you can't really see the cage normally. Thanks again for watching 👍👍

@darthdesec actually, yeah, it’s fairly flimsy. I have this SCX10 III kit. Body looks good, but they could’ve used a thicker lexan.

Cool your gonna love it then so many to choose from thats for sure as Rc trucks go, they trailer is listed as a "heavy duty 1/10 scale trailer there are lots to choose from I got mine off Ebay from China the build video for the trailer is hereruclips.net/video/q8HlINm_82U/видео.html has working lights too and really strong but several better ones out now as I bought that a while ago. 👍👍
I like your idea of adding the black onto the front fender. Looks like all the real ones I see around. All the extra bolts in the fenders is kinda odd though.

Thanks very much to be honest I took the body ideas from a real one I saw on google images check "American custom jeep" on google images and see which one looks similar then you can buy the real thing 👍👍 I can only dream of those so the Rc ones will have to do for me haha

Hi, to be honest I haven't tried it check body to chassis measurements and also try a facebook group for axiial scx10 and ask the question as others will have done it and can advise from 1st hand experience and good luck with the project 👍👍👍
Where did you get your fine tip pen and what size is the tip
Hi, I have 2 pens 1 is a fine liner black pen think its 0.5 size from a regular stationary store Whsmiths, and the other was from Japan from Amazon was recommended for plastic bodies. Most pens can smudge if you rub them but this one is called Gundam marker Specifically for plastic models. Both work fine depending on how much you want to spend 👍

Great job! I’m wondering about the Tamiya AS 7 paint as it is not specifically for Lexan. How is the durability?
Yes was my thoughts exactly but using flat clear 1st for it to bond to seemed ok and after using it so far so good and rolling it a few times! etc no probs so far I did test it on a spare piece of lexan before doing the Jeep body and bent it twisted it to see what happened but all good and I really liked that colour so worth the gamble thankfully. I have another video on the channel of it in action if you haven't seen that yet, thanks for watching 👍👍👍👍

how many cans did u use for that paint job?
It was a couple of years ago now but from memory for those bodys probably 1 and a half can of grey, 1 clear flat and 1 black but wouldn.t of used all the black and clear. As not much needed. The Tamiya spray cans are pretty small. if your new to it go easy on the spray coats better to do 3 /4 light coats than 1 or 2 heavy thick coats. I am often impatient and try to get it on asap then regret it when the paint runs! Thanks.

Nope used it in mud water rocks and to be honest as they don't stick out enough but they protect the body really well I only did it for look as I saw a real life one like that but actually really practical especially on rock crawls👍

Injora Ebay seller there are quite a few sellers with similar ones for you to choose from on Ebay, it came with the stinger v bar on it but didn't like the look of that so unscrewed it so it looks like it does now thanks for checking it out 👍👍👍
