It's sad that the electric gremlins couldn't be chased from the car. I think 451 ED running gear in to a Locost/GBS chassis would make a great weekend toy.
It's a shame that companies try and lock their EVs down. You'd have to either use every single piece of electronics or start bodging in a piggyback charger, BMS, motor controller etc.
@@evilutionltd In my mind garage (the place where I do all my work these days) I'd be transferring over everything, essentially having a 451 ED in some other clothes for simplicities sake. It is heartening to see the most popular hardware being hacked and cracked, you can pick up open-source motor controllers for popular components such as the Nissan Leaf and Tesla motors as well as aftermarket BMS's designed by enthusiasts. It's getting to the stage where early EV's are becoming viable parts sources for conversions, not just for vehicles but for other transport such as boats and aircraft (the latter being trickier due to regulations).
Obviously it charged itself 100% using coal, set itself on fire and went straight to landfill. I must remember to send an apology card to all the child slaves mining absolutely all of the minerals by hand. 🤣

Don't forget to dump the valuable old ev battery into landfill, cos the Internet knows all old ev batteries end up in landfill FACT!!
