- Thank you for joining me for the Grandma's Kitchen Sew Along hosted by @PatSloan at her website www.ilovetomak...
As with all of Pat's sew alongs the theme offers a point of discussion each week, rather than dictating the block design.

Love the attitude, Kendall!! "The way I want it, not the way the block wants it!!" 😁
Good to see you back at it. Pat's got a gem as her ambassador. 💜
Thank you!!
This Flying Geese method is the very first way I learned to make FG units about 10 years ago. It's a great method, but no matter how I make my FG I always use the Creative Grids Flying Geese Ruler--Love it!
Thanks for demonstrating the 1st block for Grandma's Kitchen. Love the fabrics you chose, and thanks for showing your block in repeat. 🙂
Thanks for sharing
I like this flying geese technique. Thanks
You are welcome!
Pat Sloan suggested your channel and I am thrilled. Finally someone whose brain works like mine! I understand completely! Thank you.
Welcome aboard!
Great tutorial, as always! Thanks a big bunch! Until later have fun sewing 😊
You are so welcome!
Awee, thank goodness for a demo! This will be my first quilt! I need some luck but your video was awesome, I will be referring to it when I do the block, TY!
You can do it!
Love the 4-at-a-time method. Thank you for doing the alternate cutting sheet. Happy New Year, Kendall!
You are so welcome!
Thanks, Kendall, warched both you and Pat today. Different fabrics but 2 beautiful blocks🙂
Yay, thank you!
Thank you, Kendall. I knew I could count on you to do the 4-at-a-time Flying Geese. I own that tool, because of following you and your tutorials showing how easy it is to use and have those beautiful and perfect flying geese blocks. Thank you so much for adding your 'alternative cutting' sheet. Another great tutorial video! I look forward to seeing you next week.
You are so welcome!
I love your color choices!! And thank you for the cutting changes and the inspiration!! You’re the best!!
Thank you so much!
I like your color choices. Thanks for the video.
I just found you and love how you explain. Thank you from Switzerland
You are so welcome!
All of your instructions are very helpful as well as alternate cutting and piecing, thank you, Kendall.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Kendall,, another great tutorial.
Thanks for watching!
Like your fabrics as always, Kendall. Whip that block into submission! 😂
Thank you I'm needed to know as I am a beginner sewing. I know the sewing machine part but not the placement of fabric parts to help me put things together properly.
Glad it was helpful!
Yay ❤ 4 FG cutting guide… Thank you Kendall!!
You're so welcome!
Thank you for showing the square up with a regular ruler. The FG trim tool is handy and dream if you have the means, but seeing an uncomplicated demonstration of a trim down on a regular ruler is most helpful.
No problem.
Thank you, Kendall 😊
Your seam snip method is very helpful, like me, a hand quilter who can't do open seams.
Have a wonderful and happy 2025 ☘️
Wonderful video tutorial. i have used the "clipping" technique in sewing but have never seen it applied to quilting. Love it when someone can teach me a new trick and can't wait to try it!
Wonderful!
Beautiful block an great directions! Thanks again!
Excellent tutorial!
Thank you!!
Love your video's
Thank you!!
I love the colors you are using. Sadly, my fabric has not arrived yet... I love the way you make the flying geese units.
Have fun!
I love the pattern and also especially the lively blue fabric with the dots
A happy and healthy new year to you Kendall! 🙏♥️🤗 The new glasses look sharp. As i was hearing about Pat's Grandma stories I was wondering if you were going to share? Maybe its not something guys do as much as gals..no matter we are here for the construction 🚧 😅. All the best!
I wondered why you were clipping in the middle of seams, but patience held out until you explained your reasoning.
I watch Pat Sloan, she suggests visiting your channel for videos such as these so here I am! Great video, I love learning different techniques to accomplish sewing so this was interesting! Thank you for sharing your talent! I will check out some of your other videos too!!
Welcome aboard!
Love that quilt in the background ❤
Thanks. It is a free pattern from Moda I believe called Acoustic.
@@kendalltaylor5636 very cool
New sub here. I am a new quilter. I just finished a quilt top that has many flying geese parts, and I struggled getting the bulky seam at the tip ironed flat. Your method of cutting into the seam is brilliant and I will do that from now on. Thank you!
Thanks for subbing! I just do what makes sense. Having a garment sewing background helps me to think a little differently.
Love the dazzle dots fabric! Thanks for the tutorial, Kendall!
Thank you! 😊 I think it was the perfect choice for this quilt along!
Great tutorial!
Thank you!
Those are very nice geese! I’d like mine with a 3/8 at the top. I want to see the geese points from across the room.
Wow you’re seam technique is so thought provoking just learned something new well I never❤
Thanks for talking about clipping the seam. That gives me something to think about. Have a blessed new year.
You are so welcome!
It's a sparkler for the New Year! Everytime you use that FG ruler I want to get one, it's so streamlined & efficient.
A lot less thinking involved - I am all for that.
Hmmm, seam clipping,a new technique for sewing blocks! 😍
Thanks for the short cut. HPPY New Year
Thx
No problem
Perfection!
Thank you!
Like your choices of fabrics and the colors.
The extra seam clipping makes the block so flat. I used to feel guilty doing that. Thanks for normalizing it.
Happy to help!
👋🏻👋🏻 Love your color palette. I’m still trying to decide from my fat quarter stash 🤪.
What gray color are you using? Happy New Year Kendall 🎆🎇. B4N
It is a Superior Solid from Benartex. Something from my stash.
Cats face> I like that think i will call it that from now on.
What is the fabric line you are using?
It is called Dazzle Dots. The background is a superior solid from Benartex.
I'm not seeing the cutting sheet mentioned for the 4 at a time flying geese. The video says it will be in the description box. Am I looking past it? Thank you.
Updated - I had forgotten to put it there.
I’m unable to find instructions for square sizes
I have a link to my cutting sheet in the description box under the video. Also as this is Pat's project, there is a link to her website also in the description box.
