    You held out on us and made us wait until 6:43 for the good stuff. Crunch for days. I dig it.

    You are friggin amplifier magician Brad. That amp as it came in was just plain silly 😂. Your client has a damned good sounding Marshall now..! 🎸🎻🎸🎻

      Thanks mate.
      The sky is the limit with these units, so people mod the hell out of them without sitting the client down and listening to what they really need, unfortunately.

    Hey Brad I have a little Strauss champ clone and I'm gonna be doing a couple mods, I’ve never molded an amp so it'll be fun. Gonna add a negative feedback loop and maybe a bright cap/switch.

    I may be a bit of a Luddite here, but, for the $$ invested in the mods/de-mods, why would you not just buy the head you liked and a nice pedal? Surely that would be much simpler, would it not?

    A bit bright and fizzy for my tastes; almost like a 12-string Ricky through an AC30 top boost! Seems to lose note separation when played hard, almost like an underlying oscillation or ghost noting.

    • @BradsGuitarGarage
      @BradsGuitarGarage  5 месяцев назад

      No oscillation, so ghost noting. Give me time stamps so I know when you're talking about. Because, remember, there's a "Normal" channel that I was pushing, and things get messy with that much bass feeding the front end. some like it, some do not, but the wise know that it's just another tool to be used when the occasion calls for it.

      @@BradsGuitarGarage, seems to be losing the plot a bit at 5:05, for starters. Maybe it needs a bass-cut switch if the bass control doesn't do the trick. Perhaps I'm just not a fan of this kind of chunking; it sounds better when you're doing the Red Hot Chili Peppers thing, until 6:20 when you make an adjustment and then it gets fizzy. Give the customer what he wants, I guess; but when I think of "the Marshall sound" this isn't what comes to my mind. I had a teenage neighbor in the 80's, a darn good player, who had a Marshall (dunno which model) that would go from full-on Hendrix/Clapton/Zeppelin etc to clean ringing chords (like the Little Wing intro) just by turning down the volume on his SG.

      @@BradsGuitarGarage Pretty nice mod and great work as usual. Doing a dual channel (bright / norm) summing pre master is a cool Marshall mod that I love. As you point out, controlling bass in normal channel at higher gains is a fine balance. I've found the 330uF cathode bypass on V1 is a good place to trim - somewhere between 2uF and 6uF lets just enough low end in but not too much. Same for 0.022uF on V1 norm ch, somewhere around 0.0033uF feeding 1M pot is enough to let plenty of bass through but keep things a bit tighter. As always, each have their own preferences and most of the magic is in your hands.

      @@ScottyBrockway , I'm definitely not a metal guy, more of a roots music guy, with side trips into other genres. Outside of Jeff Beck and the fusion guys of old, the heaviest, most electrified guitar players I listen to are Steve Morse, and Sonny Landreth.
