It's disgusting how much wasted plastic and resources were used to make what will more than likely end up in landfills. And this is just one store.
Do they send all that crap to the dump when it doesn’t sell?
@@gorillacookies3171 I'm guessing that's what happens. I think they send it all to those places that have those industrial shredders.
All this waste from corporations who claim to care about "the environment"
And it's gonna be a tax write-off.
There's a video a year or two if you look back sometimes they get Shredded and recycled into a cube
50 years from now, all these toys are gonna become a part of those giant floating garbage pollution islands in the middle of the pacific Ocean
More like 6 months from now 😂
Maybe Neal Stephenson will write another story about that.
Nah society is gonna either collapse or have a revolution these will either just be used in scapheap robo fights or somehow degraded/recycled in a safe and sustainable manner
It's a shame that Disney can't sell their toys as easily as they sold their soul.
They can if they discount it to a single dollar... The same price as their soul
Unlike current Star Wars toys, souls have value.
👍👍👍
Sold their soul when Roy gave it to zionists
Yeah, but they also picked up a lifetime supply of woke as a bonus, which I’m sure a genius like Iger will figure out how to sell for a profit 😂!
Olies suggesting to donate these reject toys for "Toys for Tots" is depressing.
Seems a cruel thing to do to children. Nothings says "nobody loves you" quite like Eternals toys.
Why would a little orphan boy want to play with Captain Marvel or Admiral Holdo? I guess to make their heads explode or something.
Mind you, Dollar Tree tries to get people to do likewise with their $1.25 toys…
Shuri Copters for every "good" little boy and girl. They'll grow up....hating action figure toys and probably be better for it!
That's funny as hell
A clever engineer could probably build a life-sized Shuri-copter using only melted-down unsold Shuri-coptors. It might actually sell.
It'd be brittle as fuck though....
You can reinforce the hull with more melted down Shuricoptors.
Even if you can acquire the material for free, the cost of energy needed to melt the plastic and mold it into shape can still outweigh the value of the final product.
I think it would be justice to build shelters for homeless in Somalia out of Shuri Copters.
lol, yeah every time he’s does a video in Ollie’s there’s a million of them.
From the plastic recyclers of the world, we humbly thank Disney, and Hasbro for their endless contributions to our industry....
It's not economically viable to recycle these toys because it's too expensive/difficult to separate them from their packaging so they're fated to be landfilled.
@@Theranthrope Yep, requires less energy to just use new plastic... Even though recycling might not be ECONOMICALLY viable, it WOULD at least reduce the overall volume of landfill right? However it's not worth the trouble since it's cheaper to just make new crap.
😂 even african kids wont be digging up and playing with shit
Can the tons of unsold Disney merchandise be recycled into houses for the homeless? That would truly be a solution of Solomonic proportions.
@@DeflatingAtheism Technically yes, but it seems to have been fiscally unviable.
After Christmas Ollie's will sometimes sell this stuff at %50-%75 off to get rid of it.The fact that people aren't even buying this stuff for children charities says it all😂😂😂
Agreed- At first I was actually thinking it'd be a good idea to send this stuff to orphanages, children's hospitals, homeless shelters, etc with a free copy of the movie because while Disney will never care about anyone or anything but themselves they'd at least get a tax write off and it'd indirectly help kids but now nah considering 100% of these movies/tv shows have toxic woke bullshit messages in them you'd end warping and indoctrinating their minds to the bullshit.
Haven't kids who need charity suffered enough?! 😅
Irony is that clone troopers are under produced despite being a literal huge army of the same person. While all these unsold Disney toys are “unique” characters with “diverse” traits.
It's even funnier that Trooper Varients (Clones and Storms) and Prequel Jedis sells more than the "Unique Diversity" Characters itself.
It's like, Hasbro knew, but still kept underproduced
@@paraclonebasedtrooper8225 hasbro sucks because they intentionally don’t make enough while they waste plastic on useless garbage like all the pathetic failures that are the sequels and all other Disney failures.
Back in the day, when the ARAH Joes first came out, they would add more army builders with each box of figures as they knew this was a huge selling point for kids. Now, Hasbro overproduces characters like Zarana and makes the army builders exclusive to either Pulse or Target. If Hasbro had put more effort into army builders and less plastic into Eternals figures they would have been hailed as progressive and understanding of the market. Watching these videos, I see how Hasbro has no idea of their target market or simply don't care.
It still surprises me that anyone making those toys can't understand why kids would want the cooler toys more instead of the ShuriChopters and Holdos.
If you look closely you can see all the dust and spider webs covered all over the toys.
It's absolutely amazing how a company can destroy so many franchises in a short amount of time. Oh yeah, Han Solo shot first. P.S. These toys go good at the range!
It will go down in history.
Han didn't shoot first.
_Han was the only one who shot._
Don’t forget, National Geographic magazine fired all their staff writers a few months ago. A 130-year national institution is dead. Guess who bought National Geographic Partners in 2019?
@DaMaster012 CORRECT! Greedo didn't shoot, or the scene just makes no sense. :D
[Oh yeah, Han Solo shot first.]
I'm sorry, gonna have to FACT CHECK this!!!!: Yes; yes he DID!!!!!!!!
I'm surprised Ollie's isn't sponsoring him at this point.
Three feelings that always come with these videos: 1. Where some of my favorite characters and modern mythologies are now in pop culture. 2. Laughing at the pain of Hasbro and Disney. 3. Check for stuff that that I missing for my collection for cheap that are not crap.
The problem with most of these toys, there is no thought and love that goes into them. Cheap printed mass produced plastic. Not like the old days. You can find well made licensed toys from hobby sites with 30 or more articulation movements. They are usually a bit more expensive. It is a shame Disney ruins their IP brand with mass cheap crap with no details to them. The stories behind these characters are as bland as chicken that was boiled with no added seasoning. The board of Disney needs to vacate and give the company to someone that truly loves the company. Maybe one day again.
It's true. In the old days they made toys with the thought that kids would play with them, broaden their imaginations and world build. Toy soldiers used to be amazing as a kid could amass huge armies and play for hours without bankrupting his parents. Action figures were either licensed or unlicensed and sometimes the knockoff products were more fun than the originals. Now, with Disney and Hasbro controlling everything there are no knock-off products, no way to army build without serious financial investment and the toys themselves are now just empty, vapid likenesses of movie stars who hate the audience. You watch videos of the current toymakers at Hasbro and they are woke, soulless beings who have no idea why the original toys meant as much as they did to that generation. No wonder kids would rather play video games.
And is it the same problem with everything, where there's just TOO MUCH of it? Like back in the 80s there were probably FAR FEWER 'mainstream' toy lines, while today they make entire toy lines for every minor kids character in existence! I can't even IMAGINE the crowd they'd need to sell through all of that stuff, when they probably at most have the odd grandmother wandering in trying to decide on ONE item for their grandkid next time they visit.
It’s too late. They destroyed the company by publicly condemning the founder and openly apologizing for its legacy of magic for being racist, sexist, misogynistic, etc. Virtually all of the legacy movies now come with warnings. Song of the South will never be released again. A movie that won the actor a Best Supporting Actor Oscar (first for a black man). Nope. It’s racist. And evil. The company committed suicide by self inflicted wounds.
@@JustinTyme33Song of the South will be released again once it hits the public domain. It will be a few years from now but it will happen.
Edit: I think it will be public domain in a decade or so.
Yeah, that original Greedo figure was a work of art ... not screen accurate at all. Quick cash grab.
I'm pretty certain that New Doctor Who merchandise will join the pile.
I hope they have a sonic screwdriver cuz that's the only thing that look interesting
Those robots that look like salt and pepper shakers = always popular. I don't get it, but they are.
They should name a new landfill after Bob Iger.
Like seriously, who the hell would want this junk in their bedroom. Like mom I really need a Shuri-Copter for X-mas please.
What if you need to buy a present for someone that you hate? 😅
@p.d.l7023 well then these are great present ideas
I never get tired of these. I always find your commentary hilarious. Thank you for always taking the time to visit these locations to record your footage.
The Shuri Copter may replace ET on Atari as the piece of plastic that’s the most numerous space taker upper in the dump.
Seeing all this crap cluttering up discount shelves always does my heart good.
It's like the best present I could ever ask for watching the rotting remains of a once great legacy company that sold it's soul and got exactly what it deserved.
Remember. If you're an Ollie's member (and they mailed you the discount coupon, though I *highly* suspect they'll still let you do this if you didn't get/have yours, so long as you have your *membership* on hand) and you want to pick anything toy or Xmas up, wait till the *evening* of *December 10th* . Specifically after 6pm. It's the Ollie's Army Night sale.
Toys are 25% off sticker price and Xmas anything is 15% off sticker.
The closest we'll get to buying this crap for literal pennies.
Good to know, but as an Ollie's member, I still want none of these toys or figures.
@NatYourAverageNerd I would only go for the Transformers thar arrive. Those go FAST
I'm a member but never get mailings anymore.
I wish there was an Ollie's near me. I always see one or two items I would actually pick up.
@@DontSnowMe Here's how that works. The store everyone raves about finding cheap stuff at finally opens an outlet close to you. But you rarely if every find anything. Either because your store sucks or the scalpers/collectors beat you to the good stuff.
It's been that way for me with Tuesday Morning (are they gone?), Ollies and others. Though 5 Below was good for awhile.
It's gonna be FUN when The Marvels hits the clearance displays.
They're going to have to clear a significant section of the store for THOSE.
I'd give it about a week before they're on display.
I went to the closest Ollie's a smaller location no marvels toys yet or wish bet they will arrive very soon.
Seeing Hasbruh and Disney's terrible decisions rotting on a shelf in Ollie's never fails to bring a smile to my face.
Disney doesn’t care if toys sell or not. Hasbro is the one who’s pissed that nothing is selling
He seems to miss that part of the equation. Disney licenses this stuff and takes the hit when it fails.
The contract will be for a certain percentage of sales. So, Disney does have a stake in the sales.
They should really get on Disney about that
So what eventually happens to all of this crap when it inevitably fails to EVER sell through? Is it even 'allowed' to be donated to some sort of kids charity (assuming they'd accept it), or does it need to be 'destroyed' and turned into literal garbage because of some 'business/tax' rule?
I dont remember the name, but the own WCB here have a video showing some of these shits being tritured and destroyed in a landfill. Just give a look in their videos and you will find it.
Landfill. I don't know if there are tax implications either way (sometimes charitable donations can be beneficial from a tax POV), but I have heard it said that they don't give toys away because that would shrink the toy market to sell into, even if only by a small amount. But hey, they're a corporation, they're evil by definition.
It eventually gets sold to a plastic recycling outfit, shredded and melted down. Unless they can dump it on an overseas discount chain.
@@-yeme- Sad to think of just how much energy was used to manufacture, ship, and then eventually melt down all these plastic toys... Probably better off though, I doubt that even the orphans would want any of that crap! lol
@@StreetPreacherr A channel I watch would always document the gigantic cargo ships docking in Long Beach loaded with hundreds of shipping containers, and then going back empty. It’s a shame we can’t send all these Shuri-Copters and Admiral Holdos back to China!
What I find fascinating is the way nearly ALL of these toys are set perfectly in their boxes.
Even on DISCOUNT, nobody is interested in touching them.
(P.S. I always wonder in these types of video - do you have to get management's permission to film inside the store?)
You should come back after Christmas to see whether any crap sold at all or if it just piles up even more
It's amazing how many Holdo figures are still out 6 years later.
These companies should pay a hefty fine for that plastic garbage they produced but never sold 😅
At least we can sleep tight knowing that if the oil/ coalreserves of the world will dry up we have a whole store of burnables in ollies
It's definitely sad just thinking about how much energy and resources went into producing and shipping this crap all over the country... So it's made in China, shipped here in giant Container Boats, then doesn't sell and is eventually shipped BACK to China as LANDFILL!
Disney/Hasbro has overproduced so much product that no one is asking for that even the Thanos Snap will fail to get rid of it. He could snap all day long and too much unsold product still exists.
I just noticed these stores are always empty too, these toys are such a draw. 😂
This is quality investigative journalism!
Ssssshhhhh...the blue haired gonna triggered.
These Ollie’s video amazes me. In Canada, we don’t have Ollie’s. I don’t get to see the massive pile of Disney product like this. All I see is the complete disappearance of Disney brand toys from Walmart & Toy R Us here. There used to be complete sections for all this stuff. Now you are lucky to see 4 shelf of Disney toys. There are products in these videos that I have never seen any of the stores here. They simply never made it on the shelf here before the shelf space disappeared.
On the positive side, there are those that buy these toys in bulk and then modify them for people to have during the holiday season. With some talented toy makers, many of these toys have potential to be enjoyable! If you guys play any table-top games with your friends; the possibilities for terrain are endless!
Edited for spelling.
They took these series away from boys and tried to force it on girls who weren't interested. They more or less tried to rewire how kids pick their toys without realizing kids are relentless and the adult collector market didn't care.
Bob Iger bought the likes of Star Wars and Marvel cause he wanted to start making money off boy oriented franchinses, only to have them turned into failing girl brands that neither gender have any interest in. If his plan was to always drive boys away and just focusing on trying appeal to girls, then he quite frankly should never have even bothered buying either brand and just continued with the Disney Princess crap.
Yup, I guess the Force wasn't female after all.
It was never about making successful female characters. It was about destroying the successful male characters.
Bro it was about destroying the whole universe. It wasnt anything to do with gender this or gender that, it was greedy people trying to chase what they thought would make MONEY thats the real evil here, also lack of creative control. There were ALWAYS interesting female characters in Star Wars they just decided to be LAZY WRITERS this isnt some woke war its a LAZY war. Yall act like Mara jade isnt out there fucking killing it everyday
They crafted it around mentally ill people who are cutting their reproductive organs off. Talk about zero legacy and short-sightedness.
Did you buy a Pelosi figure? Ahem, I mean Skeletor?
Love watching these trainwrecks on store dumps. Really easy to tell what isn't selling 😊
Black Panther (Wakanda), The Eternals, Shang Chi,....All of Disneys diverse dumpster fires are the usual suspects in these vids.
The hiss tanks are worth getting if you have an army of Cobra Troopers
Imagine that somewhere in the Pacific garbage patch that there's an entire floating island of Disney merch.
Well, some things I keep hearing from some people who seem like they would be in a position to know what they are talking about is that one of the reasons Disney and other companies are in trouble worse than anyone knows is increased environmental regulations. A lot of states have made it far more difficult people to dispose of plastics in landfills in general, along with generally rising dumping costs. The cost right now in most places is higher than the cost of production to dump bulk plastic. Interstate transport laws specifically around this have also make it illegal, or even more expensive, to transport this stuff across state lines for dumping purposes, and of course other nations are more savvy about allowing themselves to be used for dumps. This is a big part of why discounters like Ollies can get this stuff for pennies on the dollar, but even they are only interested in things that might some day sell out of nostalgia, so they will say invest in IPs that were popular at one time like Star Wars and Marvel in hopes they come back. Supposedly Disney has entire warehouses full of merch they made for movies for either a non-paying audience, or just flopped (worse than they claim). This is why you see so little stuff from things like "Encanto" or "Elemental" and so on as those were new IPs that just sort of flopped despite the hype and never had a paying fan base at any point, so nobody even wants to pay 5% of cost to warehouse them on a maybe.
One unsung horror story of this is supposed to be the Barbie movie, which is secretly a catastrophic failure. They point to all the Barbenheimer sales an stuff for political reasons, but in reality due to an initial boost in sales of all things Barbie when they first announced the movie, Mattel being a toy company massively produced dolls and products based on all the diverse versions of Barbie and Ken. In reality, despite the vocally promoted people on the internet, most girls and women hated everything this movie was, so they didn't go rushing out to buy all these dolls, when Hasbro expected them to be a big collectors thing with everyone wanting entire sets. Given the real reception of this and how badly Mattel face planted, retailers will not allocate space for them, and even discounters are simply not interested in this version of Barbie, they will take Barbie, but not anything to do with these movies or anything resembling things specifically from the movie.
This is allegedly a big part of why Hasbro and Mattel want to leave the toy business, as they can sort of finagle the media stuff, but the toys tied to that, where the money used to be, is obviously risky, especially with all the pressure to play politics. Supposedly things are so bad that they made the patterns for a bunch of Barbie movie themed ornaments for Christmas, and at least this year Hallmark wouldn't touch them, which is why they have more traditional Barbie ornaments for sale in their stores (which I noticed when I visited a Hallmark store, and not even Wal Mart has anything movie themed Barbie that I could see... so unless we have an unusual case where the toy company didn't make toys, or this is all apparently true... or at least increasingly likely, as you''d expect them to be doing a blitz with the success. To be fair I have not seen any real girls with movie based Barbie products either.... which is notable after this).
Just something to keep an eye on, ask yourself as the Holiday season proceeds, given it's alleged "blockbuster" and "cultural phenomena" status, where is all the movie tie in Barbie stuff? You won't even find it at Ollies and similar places as far as I can see.... I think post holiday season which they might allegedly be hoping would save them, I think Mattel is going to take a major dump in it's value as I don't think they can even take all those dolls out to the desert and dump them like the old ET story with today's laws, they will need the space to do anything else, and the bill for that disposal is going to become a reality and probably eat up any profits the movie had.
What makes all of this even more hilarious is that Disney’s only true merchandising success of the last decade- Baby Yoda- was a completely missed opportunity at the beginning, not even ready in time for the Christmas season after The Mandalorian premiered!
They actually thought the diverse Barbies and Kens would sell? If any toys related to that movie sold well, I am sure it's only the Ryan Gosling's Ken and Margot Robbie's Barbie dolls that sold.
That corner of Saw Gerrera figures makes perfect sense, as that much trash stock will give any Disney executive the Forrest Whittaker eye.
Archeologists are going to dig all of this up 1000's of years in the future and think that these were deities we worshiped.
I really wanna know how many raw materials were sacrificed to make all the garbage merchandise shown in these videos, as well as the sheer amount of space all of it would take up.
So I guess Wakanda isn't forever.
Beware the approach of the four woke horsemen in the twenty-first century!
Conquest became "Entitlement".
Famine is replaced by "I am the most important person in the world / The law does not apply to me".
Death falls to "My feelings are more important than facts".

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends

I bet Disney paid more in landfill site dues, than they made in merchandising profit in 2023? 😂
You know what no one ever mentions? Disney pursued wokeness to achieve the esg score. But in making these unsellable toys they hurt the environment because these are destined for a landfill
If they’re failing in the “E” part of ESG, they can compensate with the “S” part by transing every character.
Sargent Slaughter needs to be a main character in G I Joe again.
Disney should donate these mountain of toys to “Toys for Tots” … probably would count as a write off … better than just sitting at all these stores cover.
Always look forward to your content!
My nephew is absolutely unimpressed with most of the toys I've bought him.
I went to Ollie's last week and bought him a SHURI COPTER for Christmas.
Ohh, what a blunder!
Why?

I can't find Sgt. Slaughter at other retail stores anywhere and now I know why,..........because they've all hiding at Ollie stores!!!
I recently got into 1/12 Mega Man Kotobukiya figures... I should pick some of these bargain bin clearance Disney figures that are also 1/12 to use as background extras, that's all they are good for.

Ponda Baba and his friend: "we've filled the shelves of Ollie's in 12 systems!"
As an idea, this would be a good place to to buy cheap toys for donation to Toys for Tots. Kids would still be happy to get something because even if they don’t know the franchise, their imagination is what they’ll use for fun.
It’s bad when Ollie’s can’t even sell your junk
Even the flash mob looters wouldn't steal that shit.
I live in California and my sister lives in Indiana, I keep bugging her to go to Ollie's for pics for me but she's so lazy. 😅 These videos will do fine though
Yeah I wish Ollie’s was in California
I wouldn't mind that Gijoe Hiss tank at Ollie's for Christmas
The Island of Misfit Toys...full of Shuri-Copters and Dead-eyed Chewies! 😄
You know, the never ending pile upon pile of disney's unsellable merch remind me of the Gravemind from Halo. The pile of unsellable toys speaks to disney and says: "I am a monument to all your sins".
Always love the toy videos dude. That's how I found your channel in the first place. Wish I had an Ollie's near me tho.
You should include the clearance sections at Walmart in your videos. They are chocked full of Disney merchandise.
I hope these retailers are buying this trash by the ton, because the fandoms of these franchaises have been almost emptied.
All these items will one day join the Landfill as yet another layer of forever plastic floating many feet above those ET ATARI cartridges.
NOBODY CAN AFFORD THIS SHIT ANYMORE!
There's a moral dilemma here. Should people be buying up these toys to donate at a toy drive?
Donate unwanted toys to a toy drive, and I bet the boys will throw these toys at your head. Children can be prideful, and after Disney and its subsidiaries insulted them for almost their entire lives, I bet many boys will get angry if a Disney toy is offered as a gift.
No, you will ruin Christmas don't do that to a little kid.
You guys make a good point, but there probably thousands who would be glad to get a gift at all let alone what the gift was. Like I pointed out there a dilemma. You can go to a wal mart or target and buy gifts for a few dozen kids, or go to an Ollie 's and spend the same amount of money to buy presents for hundreds of kids. Granted they're woke garbage toys, but they're still playable toys.
@@SpockBorg5 The boys who receive such toys, will likely intentionally deface and destroy them. I know because I was a boy, and I did so to unwanted toys.
@@SpockBorg5I once saw a little boy at a McDonald's get angry because the clerk behind the register gave him a "girl" toy in his Happy Meal and he made his parents exchange it for another toy. Little Johnny is not going to want to play with the "Shuri copter" or "Captain Marvel". These companies should just let kids play how they want and stop trying to socially engineer everything.
4:30 - Look, a person could actually live in that unsold merchandise fort, like Chuck Mangione in that King of the Hill episode!
They need to just do massive price drop like $1 or less then the toys may be cheap enough to kitbash so they don't sit there forever. The stores have to be tired of having stuff that doesn't move.
Was that Sgt Slaughter $12.99? I want it in the uk!
Modern Disney has become the GM of the 1970s. Costs are high, revenue is low, and they act like they know better than the consumer.
this is depressing considering how hot he-man and super powers were in my childhood. Stuff just flew off the shelves. Thundercats, M.A.S.K., Hulk Hogan and Friends; stuff just flew off the shelves.
mall of america just had a toys r us open in it. and it has black panther 2 merchandise in it.

I'm absolutely screaming that they have GI Joe toys of a Cobra plane and HISS tank. I at least want the Hiss Tank for display.
Sgt slaughter would have sold if hasbro could ever get them out to retail. Theres whole waves of gi joe popping up at ollies that were never seen on store shelves at walmart or target
I love the toys for tots advertisement that they put up on those. The problem is i don't hate poor kids so when i do make donations it's going to be something nice.
my Storm Collectibles Taki came in a few days ago. Beautiful figure, will probably buy another just to keep in box.
A recent quote from a Hasbro rep: “OOOOOOOoooooopsie”

Remember the "Island of Misfit Toys" in Rankin and Bass' "Rudolf?"
Well, Ollie's is the store of misfit toys.
7:30 Does he come with a bottle of blue milk?
Don't you mean green milk?
We actually have an Ollie's near us now.
They also have a mountain of Disney stuff that they haven't moved
They have their prices still too high, as far as I'm concerned, for all of these unwanted toys.
How does Ollie's stay in business? 😂
the Kenner Death Star Droid used to warm the vintage pegs back in the day.
Why don't the 'just stop oil' lunatics protest this!? 😂😂😂 maybe cos its going back under the earth.. 😂😂😂

I go fishing, Zebco is a budget range brand of fishing tackle, those rods look pretty awful
8:48 Megazord Construction kit looks fun!
I feel that those toys are just there for grandma to go and buy a late Christmas present for little timmy because she forgot 😂
I need to check out Ollie's. I see some Marvel Legends I do not have and I always liked watching Sgt. Slaughter in WWF and G.I. Joe. Ollie's just did an additional markdown on the Joe figures in their recent add to $4.99 each.
It seems you never point out the Archie reaction figures, but here in Lexington we have pegs full of only Jughead. I noticed the first Ollie’s you went to in this video had pegs of Archie, and the last store you went to had pegs of Reggie. Haven’t even seen Ashoka at our Ollie’s here. Or the Death Star droid.
Target has a buy 2 get 1 free unsellable Disney section filled with clothes, drinkware, toys, filp flops and more that no one wants to buy. It's just sitting there. While children ask their parents for Pokemon and Mario toys.
No Ollie's where I live, but get The Emperor Black Series.
Edit: Chewy, Dengar, 3PO too.
disneys next toy: Landfill Lewie
Better idea to imagine if the Disney shareholders saw this video.
Some of the Star Wars and Thor action figures were on sale at ROSS Dress for Less too.
