Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to appreciate some of the simpler things in life. Extremely underrated song and an excellent reminder to catch up on "the livin' part of life!"
Yes he recorded it with Chris Thile and swapped Jones with Thile. Chris Thile is the mandolin player and singer for Nickel Creek. Amazing group! Check them out!
I believe the story goes, when Eric was recording there was a guy playing with him with the last name of either "feely" or it seems like it was "theely". Either way, Eric sang in the song "keeping up with the theely's" as a joke, but the record was so perfect that they never recorded another version and it ended up on the record.
the story of how jones' turned to feely's is one that will inevitably go down in country music lore alongside the likes of ole' Possum ridin his lawnmower to the local watering hole because tammy hid them carkeys..
The change from Jones' to Thiles was a "joke" on Chris Thile early one morning in the studio. The change stuck and now every version of the song has Thiles instead of Jones'
@oncearockstar could not agree more rascal flatts better find a new genre because they don't belong, taylor swift belongs more than they do, and this guy is in my oppinion one of if not the best at it these days...
